Final Fantasy XV – Chosen King Trophy / Achievement Guide – Defeated Ifrit on Normal difficulty (Boss Fight).
For this you must finish the Ifrit Boss Fight on normal difficulty. This is one of the endbosses in the final story mission. If you are playing on easy you will “miss” this. Make sure you change the difficulty to normal in the game options before this fight!
After the credits the game will ask you to save the game. When you load this manual save you will respawn before the Ifrit boss fight and can challenge him again.
It’s okay if you played the rest of the game on easy up to this point. You can change the difficulty at any time before the fight. This is right after the Behemoth King miniboss. Make a manual save after the Behemoth King and change difficulty to normal.
Even if you started the game on easy the trophy will unlock when you change the difficulty for just this one fight. You can change it back to easy afterwards. The main difference from easy to normal is that you must heal yourself when you go down. On easy you cannot die because you are revived automatically. Even if you are totally underleveled this fight isn’t hard at all.
Phase 1: Ifrit will be sitting on his throne. Use warp-strike to attack then jump back immediately. Repeat a few times to deplete his health bar.
Phase 2: Ifrit is now walking around. When he is shielded by fire he doesn’t take much damage. Wait for him to turn into his normal form and attack. Just dodge his attacks and get behind him. Use Blindside team attacks from behind and he will go down very quickly. You could also spam warp-strike attacks just like in the first phase (but they don’t do as much damage). When his health is low you must hold L2/LT to finish the fight.

You don’t have to do the full fight on normal. You can fight him on easy and as long as you change it to normal right before you summon Shiva, you will get the trophy. I have confirmed this.

You have to wait until the function appears and his health is nearly depleted.

It’s not that hard on normal mode to fight ifrit though?
