The Cerberus Sniper Rifle is a scoped Firearm in Final Fantasy XV that can only be used by Noctis. This guide shows you where to find its location and how to use it.
First you must complete story chapter 6. During this chapter you go to the Fort Vaullery Imperial Base.
After completing this chapter you can return to the base and pick up the Cerberus Sniper Rifle (you can still return after beating the story). It is found in a small building in the north-east corner of the base. There is a blue item orb inside the building you must pick up.

What makes this weapon so special is that you can use the scope to aim at specific limbs of enemies and even go for headshots. This is great to start a battle or to keep your distance while teammates take care of the enemy at close range. The sniper rifle does a fair amount of damage with headshots. Some enemies even have a weakness to it and you deal increased damage to them. Headshots are generally the best option.
To use the scope you must hold R1+Triangle (PS4) / RB+Y (Xbox One) during a combat encounter. Please note you cannot aim this weapon outside of combat! It can only be used after triggering combat. Just like any other weapon it can be equipped in the gear menu. Only Noctis can use it, his friends can’t have it.
Pick it up as early as you can. Not only is it one of the most badass weapons in the game but it’s great for fighting single enemies. Your team does all the dangerous work while you hang back and do headshots. A safe strategy for otherwise challenging encounters.
