Woodland Vigil is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Woodland Vigil Side Mission (Odd Job). It’s also known as Cissnei’s second Request. It requires you to help Cissnei deal with a dangerous fiend in the area.
Woodland Vigil becomes available at the Gongaga Village Community Noticeboard in the Gongaga Region after completing the “Escape from Endless Writer’s Block” Side Quest.

Area: Gongaga Village – Felicia Commons (available from Gongaga Village Community Noticeboard)
Quest Giver: Cissnei
Requirement: Available after completing the “Escape from Endless Writer’s Block” Side Quest
Reward: Fortunes Untold Vol. VI (10 Cait Sith SP), Aerith Relationship Strengthened, 10 Party EXP, Player EXP (scaled to your level)
Mission Info: Attention GYC members – as you may have heard, we’ve received reports of especially dangerous fiends near the village. I’ve decided to personally look into this, so I’ll be heading to the observation tower. Unit leaders are in charge while I’m away.

Starting Location: Woodland Vigil (Cissnei’s Second Request)
You can accept the Odd Job from the Community Noticeboard in Gongaga Village, or you can go directly to the quest giver at Felicia Commons.
Survey the Surrounding Area
Head to the Observation Tower and climb up.
Use the binoculars to spot Suspicious Movement in the area. There are four spots you can look at, start with the one directly in front of you to the east.
Investigate the Activity
Head to the area you looked at and defeat the Grandhorn Wardens.

Head back to the Observation Tower and look at the Suspicious Movement to the south next.

Head to the area you looked at and defeat the various fiends.

Head back to the Observation Tower and this time there will be a Large Shadow to the east where the first location was. Look at it.
Investigate the Activity
Head to the area you looked at and you’ll face a Gigantoad. Defeat it, then answer Cissnei’s question however you desire.
