Weapons on a Rampage is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Weapons on a Rampage Side Mission (Odd Job).
Weapons on a Rampage becomes available in Chapter 8 after the ‘Escort the Children’ main objective is complete.

Quest Giver: Scared Man
Requirement: Complete ‘Escort the Children’ main objective.
Reward: Protective Boots, HP and MP restored, Manuscript: Telluric Scriptures Vol. V (Hard Difficulty Only)
Mission Info: The man claims to have been attacked by five pieces of defective Shinra heavy armor in the scrapyard back alley. Search every corner, including back alleyways and dead ends, and find and destroy them all.
Objectives:
- Defeat the five pieces of armor
- Return to the Scared Man
Starting Location: Weapons on a Rampage
Defeat the 5 pieces of armor
The Scared Man sends you north to the large scrapyard areas which you used to first enter the Sector 5 Slum. The quest tells you that you need to search every nook and cranny for them, but they’re in easy to find places and are in groups of 3 and 2, so you only need to battle twice.
The armor pieces, called Mark II Monodrives, are quite a tough foe to defeat if you aren’t prepared. They’re extremely resistant to physical attacks so you’ll want to load Cloud with offensive magic materia (particularly Aero, which they’re weak against) and also make use of Aerith’s magical abilities such as Tempest to damage them. While they have their shields up they will block physical damage.
Return to the Scared Man
Return to the Scared Man, who is now in the Center District near the Item Shop and the relieved guy will give you the Protective Boots accessory and restore your HP and MP.
This finishes Weapons on a Rampage side quest in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Now the mission Paying Respects becomes available.
