Wavering Heart is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Wavering Heart Side Mission (Odd Job) and how to complete the Pull Up Challenge.
Wavering Heart becomes available in Chapter 14 after the first scene at Aerith’s House.
Side Quest: Wavering Heart
Chapter: 14
Area: Sector 6 Slums – Wall Market
Quest Giver: Andrea/Jules
Requirement: Beginning of Chapter 14
Reward: Way of the Fist Vol. III, HP and MP restored
Mission Info: Jules urges Tifa to challenge Andrea to a pull-up contest. Why not give it a try?
Objectives:
- Beat Andrea in the pull-up contest
Starting Location: Wavering Heart
Beat Andrea in the pull-up contest
This is similar to the squats minigame from Chapter 9, except a touch more difficult mechanics-wise. Instead of pressing the face buttons in order, they will now be in a random arrangement each round (although the rhythm repeats). You start off pressing them slowly in order before building up to a faster pace. Luckily this first round is really easy if you just want to complete the quest since Andrea keeps falling down, but it might take some practice for the Peeress of Pull-Ups trophy.
Win the contest and you’ll get Way of the Fist Vol. III, which grants Tifa some SP.
This finishes Wavering Heart side quest in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Important for Best in the Business Trophy: This is the last (24th) side quest you can complete on your first playthrough. The trophy for all side quests won’t unlock yet. In order to get the last two side quests you must replay Chapter 9 and do the alternative scenario you didn’t do before. In Chapter 9 Wall Market ignore the Johnny Discovery Event to get the two Side Quests: The Price of Thievery, Shears’ Counterattack. Or alternatively, in Chapter 9 Wall Market do complete the Johnny Discovery Event and in the dialogue with him choose “Yeah” to get The Party Never Stops, A Dynamite Body.
After the story you unlock Chapter Select and can get these 2 alternate quests via chapter select without having to replay the entire game. Once you did all 26 side quests you get trophy “Best in the Business”.
