Kids on Patrol is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Kids on Patrol Side Mission (Odd Job) and where to find all Children Locations.
Kids on Patrol becomes available in Chapter 8 after the ‘Escort the Children’ main objective is complete.
Side Quest: Kids on Patrol
Chapter: 8
Area: Sector 5 Slums – Center District
Quest Giver: Ms. Folia
Requirement: Complete ‘Escort the Children’ main objective.
Reward: Nail Bat, HP and MP restored, Manuscript: Telluric Scriptures Vol. VI (Hard Difficulty Only)
Mission Info: Ms. Folia asks Cloud to bring back the children still out on patrol. Look for the kids with the wooden swords.
Objectives:
- Find all 5 children
- Defeat the Toad King
- Return to Ms. Folia
Starting Location: Kids on Patrol
Find all 5 children
Ms. Folia will give you five hints about the children’s locations when you accept the quest from her. If you want to hear the hints again you can repeatedly talk to her. The hints are also written out below.
All of the children carry a toy wooden Buster Sword on their back to help identify them too. Press 
to interact with them and send them back to the orphanage.
Child Location #1: This boy is in between two concrete pipes in the southwest corner of the Center District. Just around the corner from Child #4.
Ms. Folia’s Hint: One boy patrols near some concrete pipes.
Child Location #2: This girl is located next to the large gaggle of people next to the Item Shop and where Chadley is.
Ms. Folia’s Hint: One girl likes to do her patrols in public areas with lots of people.
Child Location #3: This boy is stood right outside the Weapons Shop, very close to Child #2.
Ms. Folia’s Hint: One boy spends most of his time checking out the shops.
Child Location #4: This girl will be just up the road from the orphanage, stood in front of the old woman on a bench. This is outside the room with the Jukebox containing ‘Tango of Tears’
Ms. Folia’s Hint: One girl loves to be fussed over by folks at the community center.
Child Location #5: This boy is stood right at the town gate looking out from the Center District towards Station Way.
Ms. Folia’s Hint: One boy likes to stand guard at the town gate.
Return to Ms. Folia
Return to Ms. Folia and the gathered children at the orphanage. The returned children will then report about a mysterious monster called the Toad King which has been spotted near their hideout.
Defeat the Toad King
Head to the Children’s Secret Hideout and head to the end of the area, where you rescued the kids in the main story mission. You will have to battle a Hedgehog Pie King alongside two regular Hedgehog Pies. The King has more health than his counterparts and buffs them, so it’s best to take them out first so you can focus on him alone without distractions. Hit him with Blizzard spells to Stagger him then pummel him with physical attacks. The Hedgehog Pies are also weak to ice (Blizzard Spell) and are quick to stagger and kill with it.
Return to The Leaf House
Return to the Leaf House one more (you can go automatically this time) and the grateful children will reward you with a Nail Bat – a new weapon for Cloud.
This finishes Kids on Patrol side quest in Final Fantasy VII Remake. This also unlocks the “A Verified Hero” side quest.
