Return to Base
Once the chapter starts begin heading down the linear path towards the objective. You can listen around to NPC conversations, but there’s nothing in the area you can pick up. Once you reach the town area head towards the Seventh Heaven bar, the game won’t allow you to do anything else before this. When you reach the steps you’ll have a cutscene and automatically give the Yellow Flower to Tifa from the previous chapter.
Once inside speak to Tifa and Barret, then speak to Marlene. Tifa asks to speak outside, but before you do that you can go over to the nearby jukebox and interact with it. This introduces you to the music discs, which are collectibles you can obtain through the game from shops or other places. Interacting with the jukebox gives you 3. Tifa’s Theme. After receiving it head outside.
Tifa says there is a nearby apartment you can stay in for now, and you follow her over to it. Interact with the door to head inside.
Noisy Neighbours
Cloud wakes up during the night to noises next door. Head outside and interact with the door for another cutscene.
Life in the Slums
After walking up again you are tasked with heading back to Seventh Heaven. Before going down you can climb a ladder on the side of the apartment building to find a chest containing a Phoenix Down.
Head downstairs and you’ll automatically meet Marle, the landlady of the apartment. You are now supposed to head to Seventh Heaven, but you can explore around a little bit first. Head to the South of the area and there is a ladder you can climb up a building. On the second level you can find a chest containing an Ether.
If you then go back towards the middle of the area you can walk through a lower tunnel into an area with a bunch of cats, and nearby is another chest containing 2 Adrenaline.
Go to the North through a large metal building, you can duck through another area into a vacant lot. On the right side of the area is a chest containing 3 Grenades.
Go out the other end of the metal structure and down the stairs and you can find a man near a small gramophone playing music. Speak with him to get the music track 27. Hip Hop de Chobobo.
Opposite him up a small flight of stairs will be another chest which contains 2 Hi-Potions.
After this you will have grabbed everything around the area and can head to Seventh Heaven to speak to Tifa. She’ll take you on a tour around town (which you’ll have given yourself already if you grabbed all the chests) and you’ll help her collecting money for the water filters so she can pay the rest of what she owes you.
Your first stop is the Item Shop in town. After getting the money Tifa suggests purchasing some items, though you aren’t obligated to. What you should buy though is the music track that is available in this shop’s inventory, 1. The Prelude. If you grabbed the two prior to this you will now earn the trophy Music Collector. You can also purchase Ice Materia and Lightning Materia from this shop as well.
Follow Tifa outside then you’ll go back over and speak to Marle again. This then introduces you to rest spots, which are places you can take a break to fully restore HP and MP. You’ll lastly head over to the weapons shop to grab the final filter. She then suggests you help out with the Neighbourhood Watch, so follow her upstairs and head inside. You’ll speak to Biggs, and then get a tutorial about modding weapons.
A Job for the Neighborhood Watch
After the modding tutorial you’ll be tasked with dealing with some monsters for the Neighborhood Watch. Tifa will join your party, and you’ll have a location marked on your map to the West. Exit out the gate to the Scrap Boulevard area. Head South to get another open area, where you will find groups of monsters. You can find Gorgers and Wererats around the area, which are basic creature enemies that shouldn’t cause any trouble.
While in this area head into the tunnel in the middle and grab the green orb in the center to obtain an Ice Materia.
Keep heading around the area to take out all the groups of enemies. Once you get to the area with the single Gorger and Wererat Tifa will say to head back, but make sure you grab the chest at the far western edge of the area first. It contains 2 Antidotes.
Head back to the Neighborhood Watch building and speak to the group, then go downstairs to the weapons store. The store owner gives you an Iron Blade Sword for free, and you now gain access to the shop where you can buy new Weapons, Armor, and Accessories.
Problem Solving
Tifa now suggests heading over to Wymer, who you can get more work from. After speaking to him you are immediately prompted to speak to Chadley, who is the boy standing beside him. Chadley gives you an Assess Materia, and asks you to place it in your gear to assess enemy combat characteristics for him. This is one of the 6 side quests in this chapter that you can do. You need to complete at least one of the side quests to progress the story further, but you should make sure to do all 6 as side quests are only available in their respective chapters and not later.
The side quests you should work on at this point are:
To the left of where Chadley stands you can find a scoreboard that keeps track of how many Fiends (Monsters) you killed. Talk to Katie at the scoreboard. Defeating 10 monsters rewards you with 5 Potions, killing 20 monsters gives you Revival Earrings, killing 50 monsters gives you MP Up Materia. You should get enough kills from doing the side quests, but if not you can farm them in the Scrap Boulevard which is the dusty area to the right of Chadley.
At this point you can also backtrack to the train station and buy the Music CD 4. Barret’s Theme from one of the food stands.
A Job Well Done
After completing any one side quest Tifa will say that Barret is probably finished now, and you can head over to Seventh Heaven to progress the story. When you get
Shinra Reacts
When you get near the bar there will be a commotion outside, and a cutscene will occur where you’ll see the character Johnny being dragged away by Shinra guards. Follow Tifa over to the two points to wait for the guards to move away, then she’ll tell you she wants you to distract the guards. You can rest on the nearby bench and use the vending machine to buy some supplies before going forward if you need.
In this area you now have to fight two Security Officers, a Guard Dog, and an Elite Security Officer. The other enemies are as easy to deal with as normal, but the Elite Officer has a decent amount more health and also uses Potions to heal himself. He’s very weak to fire like other humans though, so use that to quickly dispatch him.
Once the enemies are dealt with interact with Johnny and he’ll run off. Follow Tifa back out of the area, then you are tasked with heading back to Seventh Heaven again. If you’ve not finished the other side quests you should complete them now before going to the bar. When you go to the door Tifa basically prompts you on whether you want to stay in town or not, as this is the final point you can do stuff here before progressing to the end of the chapter.
Discovery: Alone at Last
If you’ve now finished all 6 of the side quests, you will have a new objective named “Alone at Last” under a heading named Discovery in the Story menu. For this head back over to Stargazer Heights where Marle is waiting outside. Head upstairs to your room and change the water filter in the sink, then go over to Tifa’s room. Inside you’ll have a small chat, then she’ll suggest you go out on the town to celebrate seeing each other again and asks what type of outfit she should wear. You can pick between “Mature”, “Sporty”, or “Exotic”. The choice here determines what she wears during Chapter 9 and is tied to obtaining all 9 Bridal Dresses for trophy “Dressed to the Nines”. It’s recommended to go with “Sporty” or “Exotic” on the first run. The reason being that this allows you to skip the side quests and this event altogether on your hard difficulty playthrough, because Tifa will be wearing the Mature outfit by default if you skip this event. So it saves you time from redoing Side Quests on your 2nd playthrough. After making your choice go back outside and Marle gives you a Crescent Moon Charm accessory.
Once that is dealt with you have nothing left to do in this area, so head over to the bar and go inside when you’re ready to continue. Inside Tifa asks you what you want to drink, and you can pick what you want.
Talking Strategy
Jessie comes inside and speaks to you, then leaves you alone in the bar. Inside you have to kill a bit of time before you can progress, so if you want this is the first opportunity you can use the dartboard in the corner.
For the trophy Heavenly Dart Player you need to reach the top position on the leaderboard beside the dartboard, which requires you to play 301 Countdown. You have rounds of throwing three darts to reduce your score from 301 to exactly zero with as few throws as possible, with your final throw requiring you get the exact number to reduce the score to zero. To get the top score on the leaderboard you need to do this in 7 throws to beat Wedge’s score of 8. This can be done in a minimum of 6 throws (5 x Bullseye + Triple 17 for example), so you have a two dart range you can work this in. Aim for the spot you want, then wait for the moving ring to shrink into the middle ring and release and you’ll throw exactly where you’re aiming.
After you’ve played darts at least once to pass time you can go back and sit at the bar again to wait for Tifa. You’ll receive the rest of your money, then have to exit the bar.
Ominous Shadows
When you exit the bar Cloud notices a groop of hoodlums nearby that you need to investigate. Follow them into the nearby alleyway, where they will then attack you. They have much more health than the typical Security Officers from before, so be aware you can’t just swing through them in one shot right away. They are weak to fire like other humans though, so use that to quickly deal large amounts of damage. All of them will also use a buff to stop them being staggered once their health gets low, so be aware of that as well.
After they’ve been dealt with you can head back to your apartment.
The Jessie Job
where Jessie will stop you and ask you to help her with something. She gives you the Ifrit Materia as a down payment for agreeing to help her. At this point she waits on the balcony, and you can speak to her when you are ready to proceed. Make sure you grab any supplies you need first and make a save before speaking to her. Once you agree to go it ends the chapter.
This finishes Chapter 3: Home Sweet Slum in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Now the mission Mad Dash starts.

I just want to say, I’m loving how good of a job you have done at making this guide spoiler free.

Heavenly Dart Player:
2 rounds, 6 darts:
5 x Darts Board’s Center = 5 x 50 = 250 (¡bigger than triple 20!, very easy)
1 x Triple 17 = 1 x 51 = 51
Total: 301

Talk to the girl Katie next to the scoreboard of the neighbourhood watch (next to Chadley), and she will give u rewards based on the number of monsters you’ve killed. 10 – 5 potions, 20 – Revival earrings, 50 – MP Up Materia.

Pro tip: use 3 fingers to grip your joystick instead of your thumb. Got it within 10 tries.

This helped so much!! I was able to get the trophy using 7 darts.

It says “If you had it in your possession” for giving the yellow flower, but there’s no way to not have the flower. Aerith gives it to you no matter what choice you pick.
Is there a way to avoid getting it??

Excellent Walkthrough!
I’m just wrapping up Chapter 3 and I would never have found all the cool swag without your help. I spent extra time, running around the scrap yard, to level-up Cloud and Tifa, my materia, and weapons.
I have to say, Tifa is quite the badass, after she gets powered up!
Tip: You can make her party leader, on the battle menu. It will still show Cloud, as you run around but, when the battle begins, she will have control.
Thank you!
