Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake The Angel of the Slums Walkthrough

Angel of the Slums is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Angel of the Slums Side Mission (Odd Job).

Angel of the Slums becomes available in Chapter 8 when you complete the ‘Kids on Patrol‘ side quest and return to the Children’s Secret Hideout. Oates will automatically approach you and give you a marker for this quest at the community center.

Requirement: Complete ‘Escort the Children’ main objective in Chapter 8 and finish ‘Kids on Patrol‘ side quest, then return to Children’s Secret Hideout and be approached by Oates.

Mission Info: A reporter wants help collecting information on the slums’ Guardian Angel. Inquire inside the community center.

Pick up the calling card and return to the reporter

Starting Location: Angel of the Slums

Ask about the Angel of the Slums in the community center

Head inside the community center (the building next to Damon). The only person you need to talk to is Mireille, who will appear by the entrance dressed as an explorer. Talk to her and then walk over to Damon to end this step. If you don’t see her right away you can also talk to all the elderly people and they will point you to her. However, it’s not necessary to talk to anyone but Mireille.

Head to Lookout Point and investigate

Head to Lookout Point, which is located at the very north-east of the Sector 5 Slums.

Defeat the Chromogger

The Chromogger looks formidable, has high HP and AOE attacks. Make sure you go into this battle with Lightning materia on both Cloud and Aerith, as it’ll make your life much easier. Chromogger is slow but strong. You can avoid most of its attacks by dodge rolling. It’s weak to electricity / thunder. Focus on hitting the Iron Sphere (the wrecking ball in its hand) with your strongest Lightning spells until it’s Staggered, then wail on its main body with Cloud’s physical attacks (switch to Punisher Mode when it’s staggered to deal extra damage). You should only need to do this two or three times and it’ll fall. Remember that attacking its body doesn’t stagger it, you must attack its wrecking ball hand instead. When it launches an AOE attack to spray fog on the ground just run away from it.

Pick up the calling card and return to the reporter

In the area where you defeated Chromagger, head over to the desk and pick up the calling card with . You can then return automatically to Damon and after a scene, Mireille will give you 2,000 Gil.
