Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth Nibel Region All World Intel Locations

Nibel contains 23 World Intel Locations (Regional Data) in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This walkthrough will guide you to all the world intel collectibles in Nibel Region. Nothing is missable, everything can still be completed via Chapter Select which is unlocked after the story. If collecting via Chapter Select it’s best to do everything in Chapter 13 because you have access to everything in the open world at this point. Finding 100% all World Intel in all regions is mandatory for the trophy “Materia Completionist” to develop all of Chadley’s Materia.

Nibel Overview: 23 Total

  • Chocobo Intel: 1
  • Activation Intel (Towers): 4
  • Fiend Intel (Combat Assignments): 4
  • Divine Intel (Summon Crystals): 3
  • Expedition Intel (Lifesprings): 4
  • Secret Intel: 2 (1 Excavation, 1 Classified Enemy – unlocked from collecting Expedition Intel)
  • Moogle Intel (Moogle Emporiums): 1
  • Phenomenon Intel (Protorelics): 4

The intel in Nibel region is available from the start of Chapter 11. Many of the locations require the Chocobo, which is unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders.

World Intel Overview:

  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth World Intel Guide

Nibel World Intel (Regional Data)

#1 – Chocobo Intel: Feathered Waverunners
Automatically completed from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders. This starts in the south of the region, can also accept it from the noticeboard in Nibel village. This quest will unlock the chocobo for the region.

#2 – Activation Intel 1: Airstrip Tower
Slightly east of the Airstrip where you land at the start of Chapter 11.

 

#3 – Activation Intel 2: Gull Bridge Tower
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Use the chocobo’s water jet with :l2: over the river next to the tower. This will lift you up, land on the tower.

#4 – Activation Intel 3: Beacon Hill Tower
Approach the location from the beach to the north-west. Go up the stairs at the beach to reach the tower.

#5 – Activation Intel 4: Whitecap Reef Tower
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the island from the north-west side, use the chocobo’s water jet with :l2: to fly up and land on the cliff. Dismount and climb the last stretch via the yellow ledges.

#6 – Fiend Intel 1: Roaring Flames
Objectives: Pressure an enemy / Stagger an enemy / Defeat all enemies within the time limit
Approach the location from the path to the east. Use Fire Materia (Fire Spell) to pressure the Pyretail. Note that the assess info on this enemy is wrong in-game, it says it’s pressured by dealing enough damage while it’s on fire, or dodging/blocking while it’s not on fire, but this never pressures it. Using a fire spell immediately pressures it.

#7 – Fiend Intel 2: Gluttonous Devourer
Objectives: Pressure an enemy / Stagger an enemy / Defeat all enemies within the time limit
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Swim through the river slightly south-west of the intel location. Swim all the way to the end into a cave. Then use the chocobo’s water jet with :l2: to fly up the cave, you will land in front of the intel. Use Ice Materia (Blizzard Spell) to pressure the enemy.

#8 – Fiend Intel 3: Mako-Cursed Abomination
Objectives: Pressure an enemy / Stagger an enemy / Defeat all enemies within the time limit
From Activation Intel 3 go south-east to find this in the corner of the same area. Use Ice Materia (Blizzard Spell) twice in quick succession to pressure the enemy.

#9 – Fiend Intel 4: Stone-Cold Spitter
Objectives: Pressure an enemy / Stagger an enemy / Defeat all enemies within the time limit
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). The intel is found on top of the south-west island in the region. Use the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ) to get to the west side of the island. There’s a cave you can swim into. Halfway into the cave, use the chocobo’s water jets to fly up to the Fiend Intel. To pressure this enemy, you have to destroy its jaw when it uses the “Petrifying Mist” attack. This is usually the third special attack the enemy uses (Toxic Shot > Gnash > Petryfing Mist). When you see the red text “Petrifying Mist” above the enemy’s head, be very quick to launch a Blizzara Spell (Ice Materia), from the Command Menu when targeting the spell select the “Jaw” as the target. The enemy is weak to ice, so a strong Ice Spell is enough on easy difficulty to break the jaw. If not, quickly follow up with other attacks, or have multiple characters all use an Ice Spell simultaneously. If the jaw is destroyed before it completes the Petrifying Mist it will pressure the enemy, then just follow up with other attacks to stagger it.

#10 – Divine Intel 1: Odin Sanctuary α
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to the north. From the water you can swim into a cave. Inside the cave, use the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ) to fly up to the top of the cave. There you find the Sanctuary.

#11 – Divine Intel 2: Odin Sanctuary β
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to the west. Use the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ) to fly up to the cliff, then drop down into the water cave and fly out the other end. Follow the path to reach the Sanctuary at the end.

#12 – Divine Intel 3: Odin Sanctuary y
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to north-west. There’s a wall with some green foilage that you can fly over with the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ), leading to a cave under the Divine Intel. Follow the cave, then fly up at the end of it to reach the Sanctuary.

#13 – Expedition Intel 1: Estuary Bluff Lifespring
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to the north. Look for a wall with green foilage on it, you can fly up this wall with the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ). This will land you in a cave on top of the hill, where you’ll find the Lifespring.

#14 – Expedition Intel 2: Gunnthra Terrace Lifespring
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to the south. Look for a wall with green foilage on it, you can fly up this wall with the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ). This will land you in a cave on top of the hill, where you’ll find the Lifespring.

#15 – Expedition Intel 3: Coastal Lifespring
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to the north-west. Look for a wall with green foilage on it, you can fly up this wall with the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ). This will land you in a cave on top of the hill, where you’ll find the Lifespring.

#16 – Expedition Intel 4: Delta Island Lifespring
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the location from the water to the north. Look for a wall with green foilage on it, you can fly up this wall with the chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ). This will land you on a hill, follow the path and keep using the chocobo’s water jet to jump over walls to reach the Lifespring.

#17 – Excavation Intel: Island Base
Unlocked from doing Expedition Intel 1+2. This dig site has 3 treasures to dig up. As usual you must ride your chocobo, hold :up: when the blue “?” icon appears and look in the indicated direction, then follow the scent line. One treasure is in the south of the island on a small hill with an old tree on it. One is in the bunker in the north of the island (two enemies in there, must defeat them first). One is on the bunker uphill, you must fly up there using the chocobo’s water jets ( :l2: ), via the wall that has green foilage on it.

#18 – Classified Intel: Avian Tyrant
Unlocked from doing Expedition Intel 3+4. Approach the location from the south to enter the island. You must the “King Zu”, a flying bird enemy. It’s weak to Lightning damage. When it starts using “Swan Song”, immediately destroy both its wings. You can use the Command Menu to target the wings specifically, using strong Lightning Spells (Thundara/Thundaga) is best here. When both its wings are destroyed, the enemy becomes pressured, quickly stagger with with a character like Tifa. Then unleash your most powerful abilities/spells and Limit Break if it’s charged.

#19 – Moogle Intel: Highland Moogle
From Activation Intel 2, go south-east across the river to find this. You must again herd moogles back to the moogstool within a time limit. If you completed all Moogle Intel in previous regions, you will earn trophy Moogle Lover after this.

#20 – Phenomenon Intel 1: Adumbral Thong
Approach the robed men directly west of Activation Intel 2. Follow them along the road. They are very slow walking, just stay close to them. Along the way they’ll be attacked by enemies which you must defeat. They will walk to the door of a factory building, open the door and defeat the enemies inside to finish this.

#21 – Phenomenon Intel 2: Airstrip Amblers
Follow the robed men until they stop at a door. Try to open the door, it will be locked. You then get a quest marker west of the Airstrip. Go there by swimming across the water with your chocobo. There’s a hole in a fence below the airstrip, only accessible via the ocean. Enter there, then open the left door. This leads to a room with another locked door and a submarine. Drop down the left and use your chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ) on the little pool of water to the right of the submarine. This will catapult you up, land on the right side where there’s a hole in the wall and go through it. Follow the path to the end and defeat the enemies.

#22 – Phenomenon Intel 3: Cursed Confidant
This starts at the beach near the middle of the region. Defeat the enemies that spawn when you approach the robed men. Then you are told to follow the robed men up the slope but you can skip that part. Just run up the slope and open the map to see a new marker showing where to go. This leads to another group of robed men on the south side up the mountain. Follow them to a close gate, then interact with the valve 3 times to open the gate. Go into the next area, defeat the enemies. Now there are 3 valves and a locked gate. You must align all 3 valves that their red marking points upward. If you haven’t touched the valves yet, the quickest method is to turn the middle valve ones (making the left and middle valve align), then turn the left valve until it and the middle valve point up. Then turn the right valve until the red color points up. This will open the gate and triggers another fight, after which this intel will be done.

#23 – Phenomenon Intel 4: Shoreline Shamblers
This starts at the same beach as the previous intel. Approach the robed men to get a cutscene. After the cutscene you get a new marker on an island to the north-west. Go there using your chocobo. Then use your chocobo’s water jet ( :l2: ) to climb the wall that has green foilage on it. Follow the path uphill and defeat the miniboss to finish this.
