Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Rebirth How to Unlock Chocobo in Cosmo Canyon

In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth each region has its own unique Chocobo variant. These must be unlocked through different methods in every region. This guide explains how to unlock the Chocobo in Cosmo Canyon region.

Cosmo Canyon Chocobo

Chocobo in Cosmo Canyon region is unlocked from Side Quest: Bonds of Trust, started at Kamaria’s Ranch. As part of the first quest objective you must wrangle the chocobo Aponi. Below is the quest starting location, it’s near the start of Cosmo Canyon and you’ll automatically walk through this ranch on the main story path;

Cosmo Canyon Chocobos are colored turquoise. Their special ability is to glide in the air when jumping from special chocobo ramps.
