Final Fantasy VII Rebirth contains 88 Johnny’s Seaside Inn Treasure Trove Items. Finding all of their locations is required for the 7-Star Hotel trophy. This requires close to 100% game completion.
Johnny’s Treasure Trove is unlocked from Side Quest: The Saga of the Seaside Inn. This can be started in Chapter 7 in Costa del Sol but you won’t be able to complete it until Chapter 9 due to some objectives being in the Chapter 9 region. Then a chest will appear at Johnny’s Inn. Any “Collector’s Items” you unlock will automatically be donated to this chest. The trophies for 10/30/60 will unlock instantly upon getting a Collector Item, no need to manually place them in the chest.
To get all 88 of Johnny’s Treasure Trove items you must complete all side quests, all minigames with the highest rank (including their Hard version), all Combat Simulator Challenges (including Brutal/Legendary), and various other side activities. The only big exceptions are Piano Songs which you only need to A-Rank (not S-Rank), and the Open World Caches and Chocobo Stops aren’t needed. For anything else: if it’s in the game you need to complete it, if it’s a minigame you need the highscore.
All of Johnny’s Treasure Trove Items can still be obtained via Chapter Select (unlocked after the story). Hence, nothing is fully missable. Everything carries over between Chapters and is saved as soon as you unlock the item. You can even jump back and forth between Chapters. For example, if you forgot an item in Chapter 4 you can grab it via Chapter Select, then jump back to Chapter 13 and it’ll transfer over to Chapter 13 and counts across all Chapters.
After getting all 88 Treasure Trove Items talk to Johnny at the Costa del Sol Inn. The reward from his chest is the 8th Piano Song Sheet Music “One-Winged Angel”.

The best method is to aim two lights ahead of the moving boxes (the little lights below the moving boxes). Throw exactly two lights to the right of a moving box and it will get hit. You must hit 10 within the time limit, it’s okay if you miss several throws in between, the time limit is generous here.

I’m now in chapter 10 and I didn’t make a perfect save in the chapter. Do I now have to restart the entire game or what happens if there’s no missing trophy
PowerPyx says
Anything you missed you can get via Chapter Select later.
David Slade says
Random question if you don’t get: 7- Award for Outstanding Performance does this lock you out the plat? Or can you try it again through chapter select?
PowerPyx says
You can redo everything via Chapter Select.
Eliaz Caballero says
Hello! Question, if I missed some treasure, will the ones found will be transfer for new game plus or chapter select? Or it sould be redone all over again?
PowerPyx says
Everything transfers over via Chapter Select. You can jump back and forth between chapters and it keeps everything.

Question. do i need to get the gold score in survival QB at the golden saucer or do i just need to win the card? its super rng to get the gold score and i dont want to waste un-neccessary time if i dont have to get the gold score
Jack says
I have the same question. I spent around 2 hours just now beating the suvival QB with the 50 points win, barely. Extremely RNG dependent, not only with what cards you will draw, but also with what cards the AI will play to screw you over.
I found that Shiva does help end the first round quickly though.
savarunl says
You only need bronze on that one for the treasure (you get that if you just beat the opponent).
Jack says
Do you need to do the queen’s blood survival boot camp thing at the golden saucer for this trophy?
Leonhart says
Yes but only Bronze is good enough so no need to go for the Gold rank.
Drew says
Hey PowerPyx – how do you replay the UPA Battle Challenge from Can’t Stop Won’t Stop? Surely you don’t have to do ALL 35 Side Quests a second time if you did it on Normal first time around?
If so, I guess I’m scrubbing this one off the Platinum list cuz I’m currently replaying on Hard Mode and have done all the HM Side Quests, except Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.
Nogmund says
Amazing guide as usual!
I wanted to ask a question. Apart from the 88 Treasure Trove Items in Johnny’s Seaside Inn, there are weapons from FF7 Remake on display which seem to appear only if you collected them on your Remake savegame.
The problem is that it seems that data is read only once, meaning the weapons do not appear in your Rebirth savegame if you collect them in Remake later (I was for example missing Aerith’s Bladed Staff and I have found no way to make it spawn in Rebirth after I obtained it in my Remake savegame).
Do you know if there is a way for the game to recheck your Remake savegame? I tried checking from the main menu and redoing Side Quest: The Saga of the Seaside Inn to no avail.
If there is no way, this could be considered a missable unless Square Enix patches this in the future.
jeatog says
Those don’t count for the platinum.
John says
So I’ve got a question. I’m not going to finish the legendary or brutal fights, but I’ve done literally everything else. I just wanted to know if after getting all 88 treasures there is any ending cutscene, or is it just a dialogue box from him stating you get to open his cache box?
I’ve looked up to see video of the completion but I can only find pictures of the cache box being opened up.
Thomas says
Hello, how do you choose Yuffie as chapter 12 companion? I only have the options of: Barret, Tifa, Aerith, Re XIII and Others but no Yuffie ?
PowerPyx says
From the Date Event Conclusion Menu. It’s unlocked after the story.
Carlos says
The chocobo course 3 hard is necessary for Platinum? Is very difficult.
Zed7777 says
Honestly the reward for this whole thing isn’t worth it. And I am scratching my head trying to understand how some of the combat simulator gives you better rewards than pretty much 100%-ing the game.
JeLe says
How i can find all rabbit burrow for johnny trophy ?
PowerPyx says
You just ride around and look for the blue question mark icon.
Resident Space Hill says
I unlocked Best Actress: Tifa and Best Actress: Aerith at the same time, even though Tifa was my date. (Barret/Red/Cait items were also unlocked).
Only item I didn’t get was Yuffie’s because she wasn’t my date or in the Loveless show.
Assuming I only have to do Loveless one more time with Yuffie to get that item rather than do Loveless 3 times? Has anyone else had this happen?
Cyruz13 says
Anyone encounter the incorrect Johnny treasure trove counter ?
Item collected shows (83/88)
View treasure trove shows (86/88)
But the image for 3 item not displaying
Option > system > play log shows 86/88
Chris says
I have this issue too and now I’m worried whether I should bother trying to get everything if there’s a glitch that stops me at the end after all my effort.
Greycloud says
There may be an issue with the trophy “My Job Here Is Done” as for me it isn’t unlocking. I have completed every quest, all 36/36 and it even has the green tick jn the playlog.
Is there a fix? Or am I missing something?
