Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has 32 Activation Intel Locations (Remnawave Towers). They are part of the 169 World Intel collectibles. Finding all World Intel is required to craft all Materia from Chadley for the Materia Completionist trophy. The Activation Intel are also called Remnawave Towers. They are big radio towers with a console on them. Defeat the nearby enemies and activate the console to turn on the tower. This will mark all nearby intel in the region. It’s best to activate these first in every region to mark everything else on the map.
Nothing is missable, everything can still be completed via Chapter Select which is unlocked after the story. If collecting via Chapter Select it’s best to do everything in Chapter 13 because you have access to everything in the open world at this point.

Grasslands Region
Activation Intel 1: Bill’s Ranch Tower
Automatically completed from story during Chapter 2, can’t miss it. After this the other Intel in Grasslands becomes available.
Activation Intel 2: Eastern Seaboard Tower
In the east of Grasslands. Follow the road to reach it easily.
Activation Intel 3: Swamplands Tower
In the south of Grasslands. Follow the road to reach it easily.
Activation Intel 4: Plains Tower
In the north of Grasslands. On the side of a road.
Activation Intel 5: Kalm Outskirts Tower
In the west of Grasslands. From Kalm head west and then take the first turn right where the road is broken. From there head north into the desert where you’ll find this.
Activation Intel 6: Wastelands Tower
In the far west of Grasslands, in the desert. Follow the roads to reach this area, then ride into the desert. There is one road south of Kalm leading to the desert and another road west of Kalm.
Junon Region
Activation Intel 7: Seabreeze Tower
In the west of Junon, northwest of Gabe’s Ranch.
Activation Intel 8: Buffeted Cape Tower
Climb up the tower to find the console on top.
Activation Intel 9: Batteryhill Tower
Climb up the tower to find the console on top.
Activation Intel 10: Piedmont Tower
Climb up the tower to find the console on top.
Activation Intel 11: Prospect Tower
Climb up the tower to find the console on top.
Corel Region
Activation Intel 12: Costa Port Tower
South of Costa del Sol. The console is on top of the tower. (becomes accessible in Chapter 7).
Activation Intel 13: Seashell Coast Tower
On top of the tower (becomes accessible in Chapter 7).
Activation Intel 14: Wasteland Tower
South of The Gold Saucer (becomes accessible in Chapter 9).
Activation Intel 15: Riverside Tower
South-east of Activation Intel 3 (becomes accessible in Chapter 9).
Activation Intel 16: Stonearch Tower
In the north-east part of the desert area (becomes accessible in Chapter 9).
Activation Intel 17: Ravine Tower
In the south-east edge of Corel Region (becomes accessible in Chapter 9).
Gongaga Region
Activation Intel 18: Midriver Isle Tower
In the north-west of Gongaga region. You can go over the bridges north-east of the location, then go downstairs and swim through the water near the tower.
Activation Intel 19: Old Pipeline Tower
This is along the path you have to take during the story to reach the Reactor. South-east of Gongaga Village. Climb the rope hanging from the tower to reach the console on top.
Activation Intel 20: Verdant Plateau Tower
After you advance the story to objective “Freeflier Pilot”, you can go through the south gate in Gongaga Village, leading you towards the Airstrip. Along the path you can find this on a hill. Must use the Chocobo on the mushrooms to jump up (chocobo is automatic story unlock in Gongaga).
Activation Intel 21: Gongaga Ruins Tower
To reach this area, start by going south-east of Activation Intel 3 and slide over the long root with the chocobo. This will lead you to the Observation Tower. From there go west and downhill and you’ll see the tower in front of you. To get up this tower, you must slide over the roots directly south of the tower using the chocobo. You must go up the hill path directly behind the tower, then turn around and you’ll see the root.
Activation Intel 22: Fungi Forest Tower
You must use the mushrooms slightly south-east of the tower to jump to it. Start by swimming through the water directly south of the tower, go up the stairs on the small island, then go slightly east to find the mushroom on the cliff. Use the chocobo to jump on the mushroom.
Cosmo Canyon Region
Activation Intel 23: Kamaria’s Ranch Tower
Found directly at Kamaria’s Ranch, along the main story path.
Activation Intel 24: Crimson Earth Tower
After unlocking the flying chocobo in Side Quest: Bonds of Trust (started at Kamaria’s Ranch), fly down the ramp in Kamaria’s Ranch to land at this tower. The console is at the bottom of the tower.
Activation Intel 25: Dried Oasis Tower
From Activation Intel 2 you can ride straight to this. The console is on top of the tower.
Activation Intel 26: Gliding Range Tower
From Activation Intel 3 you can ride straight to this. The console is on top of the tower.
Activation Intel 27: Spiritwastes Tower
In the north-east corner of the map. From Activation Intel 3 you can ride straight to it by going through the desert area (the area below the bridge leading to Cosmo Canyon Village). To get up the tower you must run towards the ramp next to it with the flying chocobo.
Activation Intel 28: Ancient Capital Tower
To reach this intel you must fly to it from Gliding Range No. 16 on a mountain top south-east of the tower (see map image below). Getting up there requires jumping over many gliding range ramps: to start, go directly south of Activation Intel 6 through the lower desert area until you reach the southern border of the map. When you hit the south end of the map turn left and you’ll see a path leading uphill. Follow this path and jump from one ramp to the next until you reach the top, then glide over to the tower. The whole path takes around 3 minutes.
Nibel Region
Activation Intel 29: Airstrip Tower
Slightly east of the Airstrip where you land at the start of Chapter 11.
Activation Intel 30: Gull Bridge Tower
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Use the chocobo’s water jet with over the river next to the tower. This will lift you up, land on the tower.
Activation Intel 31: Beacon Hill Tower
Approach the location from the beach to the north-west. Go up the stairs at the beach to reach the tower.
Activation Intel 32: Whitecap Reef Tower
This requires the chocobo (unlocked from Side Quest: Esoteric Secrets of the Elders). Approach the island from the north-west side, use the chocobo’s water jet with to fly up and land on the cliff. Dismount and climb the last stretch via the yellow ledges.
Meridian Ocean Region
No Activation Intel in this region.
