They split up and race to his rescue.

- Rendezvous with Gav
- Defeat the imperial soldiers
- Return to the hideaway
- Visit the infirmary
- Speak with Charon
- Speak with Gav
- Journey into Rosaria via Three Reeds
Rendezvous with Gav
After entering The Kingsfall, you’ll have to follow the linear path through the area. There aren’t any side paths or items to pick up, so just worry about making it through the area. You’ll be introduced to a couple of new enemies here, the first one being the Black Widow. These spiders are very similar to the Vampire Thorns mechanically as they can spit at you, so watch out when there are ones at range.
Once they’re dealt with keep following the path. The next enemy you’ll run into is the second new one, a Minotaur. These large enemies typically have single slow attacks, which are easy to avoid or parry if you want. Generally, they’ll switch between a charge towards you, and swing around themselves, or a single vertical swing, all easily dodged away from.
After dealing with this first Minotaur you can continue through the path. There will be a couple more groups of enemies, one of them having a Minotaur, but nothing that should pose any trouble.
Defeat the imperial soldiers
After crossing a bridge there will be a scene, and you’ll run into a group of Imperial soldiers. Deal with them, then a Dragoon boss will appear along with an enemy Aevis. Cid joins you as well, so you can just completely ignore the Aevis and he’ll deal with it, while you can focus on the Dragoon. At the start, this Dragoon has the same moveset as the one you fought during the flashback at the start of the game, including the Jump attacks. They will combo the normal swing attacks, but otherwise, they won’t do anything that should cause much trouble.
Cid will take out the Aevis pretty quickly, then help you out. Keep focusing on the Dragoon, and once they get to low health (probably around the second stagger) they’ll use their one new move for this fight, called Mirage Dive. This is basically like the other Jump attacks, but a large number in series, and can still be avoided in the same why by just staying moving. After a while Cid will automatically stop the attack, staggering the boss, where you can then take it out.
Return to the hideaway
After some scenes, you can return to the Hideaway on the world map.
Visit the infirmary
Inside the Hideaway, head up the stairs and interact with the door to the infirmary.
Speak with Charon
After the scene in the infirmary, you’ll need to head down and speak with Charon before continuing. You’ll also have new shop and Blacksmith items available, along with a couple of side quests.
New side quests:
- Moving Heaven and Earth
- A Place For Everyone (after completing Food for Thought)
Speak with Gav
Once you’re done with Charon and are ready to leave, head near the exit and speak with Gav.
Journey into Rosaria via Three Reeds
Now on the world map, select Three Reeds to enter Rosaria.
This finishes The Hunter and Hunted Main Quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI).
