Final Fantasy 16 (XVI) Footfalls in Ash Walkthrough

Footfalls in Ash is the 63rd main story quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Footfalls in Ash main scenario chapter.

Quest Info: Having made land once again in Ash’s treacherous Shadow Coast, Clive, Joshua, and Gav begin their lonely march northeast to Stonhyrr, royal capital of Waloed.

Objectives:

Make for Stonhyrr
Find the village of Eistla
Slay the Akashic
Search the abandoned village
Make for Reverie
Enter the tower

Make for Stonhyrr

At the start of the main quest, you’ll have entered the final open-world area of the game. Follow the linear path ahead with Gav and Joshua in tow. Progress through the Wolfdarr area, you’ll have to deal with more Akashic and Orc enemies along the way. After the third group of enemies, you reach a large wall, and must pull the switch to the right of the gate to progress.

Find the village of Eistla

After progressing through the next section Joshua will leave the party, and you need to continue forward to the village of Eistla. The area ahead is a big swamp with a bunch of enemies you can fight or avoid as you continue east. You should hug the right wall as you do though, as you can find a side path in the first section that leads to The Hand of Rhea (Shiva) Chronolith, along with a chest that contains the weapon Masamune, which will be the strongest current weapon if you’ve not completed the Blacksmith’s Blues quest chain.

Continue following the path to the east through the swampy area until you cross a large bridge and enter the village.

Slay the Akashic

After entering the village there will be a scene, then you will be attacked by waves of Akashic enemies. Deal with them to continue.

Search the abandoned village

After the scenes showing you’re locked in the area, you need to search around. Head up the stairs towards the Obelisk, then the objective will change to the door of the nearby house which you should enter.

Make for Reverie

Gav stays behind in the village, and you need to head off to Reverie. Head through the gate out the east side of the town and follow the path towards the objective.

After progressing through the open area with the Plague enemy, keep hugging the right wall to where the path splits left and right. On the right before continuing you can find an orb chest that contains the accessory Adamantite Gauntlets, which can be a very good accessory now if you want more health. You can then keep following the path towards the objective.
