Black or White is the 34th main story quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI), and a subquest of Black Light Burns. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Black or White main scenario chapter.
- Starting Location: The Lazarus District, Rosaria
- Requirement: Occurs during Black Light Burns
- Reward: 250 XP, 800 Gil, 20 Renown, 80 Magicked Ash, 1 Meteorite
- Quest Info: The Black Shields’ main host is on the march and Sir Wade’s Guardians of the Flame plan to make a final stand… with or without Clive and Jill’s help.
Fighting side-by-side for the first time in almost twenty years, Clive and Wade succeed in routing the Black Shields at Bewit Bridge. Upon returning to the Lazarus district, Clive learns that the Guardians of the Flame are being funded by coin provided by none other than Clive’s own uncle, Byron.
Objectives:
- Make for Bewit Bridge
- Eliminate the Black Shield host
Make for Bewit Bridge
With Wade in your party, make your way back over to Bewit Bridge that you passed by before.
Eliminate the Black Shield host
At the bridge, there will be a waiting group of Black Shields you now need to fight. The first group just includes basic soldiers, so that them out as you like.
After the first group are dealt with, a couple more soldiers and a War Wyvern will come from the nearby gate. Get rid of the two soldiers, first, leaving you plenty of room to deal with the Wyvern. A handful of Wyrms will also appear when the Wyvern is at about half health, but shouldn’t be much to worry about.
After that group is dealt with, a Dragoon will appear. This fight is very basic like the one early in the game, and this knight won’t perform Mirage Dive like the one you fought as a boss with Cid. A few more soldiers will appear midway through the fight, but this overall shouldn’t pose a huge challenge here. After all enemies are defeated you’ll complete this subquest.
This finishes Black or White Main Quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI).
