Welcome to the Elden Ring Walkthrough for the Volcano Manor region! Volcano Manor is a large castle located in the west part of Mt. Gelmir, being built on top of and around a large volcano, so the inner area is full of magma. It contains two trophy/achievement bosses, one of them being a shardbearer. It also has the interesting option of being able to complete an NPC quest that allows you to be transported directly to the boss, though you would still need to go through the area like normal to fight the other boss.
For all other regions refer to Elden Ring Walkthrough.

Volcano Manor
The entrance of Volcano Manor is a large interior, where you can interact with a number of NPCs. When entering you first want to speak to Tanith, the woman sitting in the chair to the right of the fireplace.
Go through Tanith’s dialogue, and agree to be a part of Volcano Manor. She gives you the Drawing-Room Key, which allows you to open the other doors inside the Manor.
You have two ways you can progress now to reach Rykard: either do Tanith’s questline that involves killing three specific Tarnished or take the route through the castle. If you complete Tanith’s quest then she warps you directly to Rykard, skipping the trip through the castle. You need to go through at some point no matter what though to also fight Godskin Noble, so it’s entirely up to you whether you do the quest or not. If you want to do it for the couple extra rewards you need to do it before killing Rykard, because once Rykard is dead then Tanith says she’s leaving the area, then moves to the boss room.
Heading through the castle, you need to go into the first room on the right. In the back right corner, there is a section of wall with a painting on it. It is an illusionary wall and will disappear once you roll into it.

Head into the hallway behind the wall, and follow it into the next room. Here there is a path to the left which leads around to a dead end, then a flight of stairs to the right that you can head down to continue.
In the next room, there is a respawning Bloodhound Knight in the left corner which you can ignore if you want, then go through the next doorway to the right of the room.

Head up the short stairs just to the left where you enter a church area, and can find the next site of grace.
Prison Town Church
Head out the doors of the church to enter the central area of Volcano Manor. Up to the left is a bridge that you will activate just before Godskin Noble for a shortcut, so to continue start heading down the hill to the right.
Follow the path around the wall to the right, watching out for the Abductor Virgin that appears near where the path turns to the left.
Once you start heading down the stairs the path splits three ways. To progress, continue across the bridge towards the next building.
Deal with the Man-Serpent in front of the (locked) door, then go just around to the right where there is a ladder leading up to the rooftop.
Go directly across the rooftop and look over the edge to spot a platform below, then carefully drop down to it.
Head into the room, watching out for the Omenkiller that is facing the wall on the far side.
You can deal with it (or ignore it) then jump through the window to the left of where you entered to reach the lower area.
Head inside through either door off this platform (they both lead to the same room) then you can find the next site of grace in a smaller room just off this central room.
Guest Hall
Head back out and through the set of closed doors leading east. Drop down onto the area below, watching out for the lava. You need to progress through this lower area heading east then up the set of stairs just ahead to the right.

Watch out for the Man-Serpent at the top of the stairs, then head into the hanging cage to the east to be taken up to the next area.
Head up the next set of stairs where you can see the boss door to the right. Before entering though you want to go to the left and interact with the large lever to raise the bridge.

Make sure to head across the bridge and interact with the Prison Town Church site of grace again, so if you need to retry the boss ahead you have a much shorter run back.
Godskin Noble
Reward: 50,000 Runes, Godskin Stitcher (Weapon), Noble Presence (Ash of War)
Godskin Noble uses a combination of melee sword attacks, some ranged spells (which are easy to dodge sideways), and he likes to turn into a ball and rams into you. With a mage build he is easy to defeat using the Comet Azur Spell and the Cerulean Hidden Tear in your Wondrous Flask (infinite FP), thus you can potentially one-shot him or at least take most of his health right at the start. Then keep your distance and spam spells until he dies, use the pillars around the room for cover. Especially when he turns into a ball just hide behind a pillar, but keep in mind bosses can hit through walls/pillars with all their melee attacks so stand a few meters behind the pillar to not have him cut damage through it. He will get stuck on one of the pillars when he’s turned into a ball, just wait until he turns back to normal. If you’re using melee you can generally use the same strategy. Use the pillars in the room to block his attacks when possible, then attack in the openings.
After the boss is defeated, you can interact with the site of grace close to the front of the room.
Temple of Eiglay
To the right of the site of grace, there is now an elevator that you can take to the upper level.
Head out the door ahead, then jump over the railing to reach the rocky area below.
Follow the path past all the slugs, jumping down to the next area once you reach the higher section to continue.

At the top, make your way back towards the castle, and follow the wall around the right side towards the area with the pillars in the distance, then jump into the open window on the building just beside where the Abductor Virgin will appear.

Open the door in the room, then continue out and head into the next building.
In this room, you go right to continue, but first, you should go to the left where there is a doorway leading directly onto an elevator. This elevator goes down to a spot just beside the prior site of grace, allowing you to get back here directly instead of needing to run through the lava area again.
Continue through the next area, watching out for the human enemies that hang around as they will explode into a poison cloud when they die.
Continue into the room at the end of the area, then through the doors on the right. In the next large room will be a trio of Man-Serpents, with two of them hanging out at the top of the stairs where you need to go. Make your way through then head out the door to the left of the throne.

On this balcony there is a portal, interact with it to be taken to the next area, where you can find the final site of grace before the boss.

Audience Pathway
When you are ready to go to the boss you can head through the gold fog door ahead, though a reminder that if you want to do Tanith’s questline all the way through to get the rewards you need to do it now BEFORE killing the boss, or else you can’t complete all the steps.
God-Devouring Serpent & Rykard, Lord of Blashpemy
Reward: 130,000 Runes, Rykard’s Great Rune, Remembrance of the Blasphemous
This fight consists of two phases, the boss transforms after depleting his first health bar and turns into Rykard. When entering the boss fight, pick up the weapon to the immediate left of where you enter, it’s called Serpent-Hunter (Great Spear). Equip this weapon! It doesn’t have any stat requirements and it’s a weapon meant specifically for this one boss fight due to the special effect it has while fighting this boss. It has 3 attacks: L2 Heavy Attack, R1 Ranged Attack, R2 Quick Attack (can also Jump + R2 for quick jump attack). These attacks deal a ton of damage to the boss and have a large amount of extra range added to them. Start by running up to the boss and immediately use two L2 Heavy Attacks, the 2nd hit does thousands of damage, but you need sufficient Stamina and FP. Now lure the boss into attacking, dodge, then follow up with two L2 Heavy Attacks again and repeat. You can also run backwards and do a Jump + R2 for some quick good damage. Another possible strategy is to run into the lava around the boss and spam Jump R2 attacks from there. The boss tends to take a while to turn around to refocus on you, allowing you to land some easy hits. But generally, the best way is to lure it into attacking, dodge its attack, then do the two L2 Hits as they do the most damage (bring 4 Mana Flasks, the Heavy Attack uses Mana, but the other two Attacks don’t). After the Serpent is dead you will fight Rykard, who is basically the same thing just looks different and uses a Sword and summons some lava and flying skulls. Keep attacking him with the L2 Heavy Attacks. The first hit has a high chance of staggering him, thus he is defenseless for when you land your second Heavy Attack. The only tricky part is when he makes the entire arena lava and summons skulls that home in one you. Your best bet is to get lucky and kill him before he ever summons the skulls. If he does summon skulls, you’ll have to try to dodge his melee attacks while also running away from the skulls and try to get to the edge of the arena to avoid his melee and the lava. The combo between Heavy L2 attacks with Serpent-Hunter spear and jump R2 attacks will quickly bring him down. You can also upgrade the Serpent-Hunter Spear at the smith (it scales to Strength Attribute, so melee builds have a slight advantage).
Once the boss is defeated, you can interact with the site of grace in the center of the room.
If you want to activate Rykard’s Great Rune, you need to head to the Divine Tower of West Altus, located right near Leyndell. To reach it, you need to go through the Sealed Tunnel mine. The closest site of grace to this you likely have to start from is Outer Wall Phantom Tree, located along the path to the capital.
Head down to the river area beside the city wall, then all the way to the south end when you can find the entrance to the tunnel, and the site of grace just inside.

Sealed Tunnel
This whole mine is basically just a gimmick area, as all of the areas have hidden walls that you have to progress through. In the first room, the hidden wall is the flat wall to the left of the campfire.
In the next room with all the miners, the hidden wall is behind the chest on the right side of the room, where you should also make sure to grab the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [2].
Take the elevator down to the next area, then the hidden wall is the one directly ahead through the roots, then the one immediately behind it behind the body.
In the next open room, make your way across the roots to the other side where there is another tunnel.
In the next room you can spot the Stake of Marika you’ll revive at if you die to the boss ahead, along with a wall of roots blocking your way. To continue you can drop down to the right of the platform to get to the other side.
Continue to the far wall behind the boxes to find the next hidden wall, just watch out for the explosive stones that are hanging around in this area.

Drop down the roots to the lower area, then you can continue into the boss room ahead.
Onyx Lord
Reward: 16,000 Runes, Onyx Lord’s Greatsword
Onyx Lord is a tall ghoul wielding a long sword and using purple magic spells. A really easy way to stunlock him the entire fight is to use the spell “Carian Greatsword“. Each hit will interrupt him, leaving him completely unable to attack before you land your next attack. If you don’t have this yet, you can simply shoot him with spells if you’re a mage, or engage him in melee and your Spirit Ashes. When playing at close range, he will use more melee attacks which deal more damage than his spells, but his melee moveset is quite limited. Powerful attacks can knock him back to create an opening for follow-up attacks or keep him stunlocked.
Once the boss is defeated you can continue out of the room to exit the tunnel. DON’T INTERACT WITH THE EXIT POINT TO THE RIGHT, this will take you back to the beginning of the tunnel again.
You can then activate a site of grace just before the stairs leading into the tower (if you went through the tunnel before killing Rykard the tower will be locked, so this is a quicker way to get back here).
Divine Tower of West Altus
Head into the tower and up to the top, where you can activate Rykard’s Great Rune.

Volcano Manor
Prison Town Church
Temple of Eiglay
Guest Hall
Audience Pathway
Abductor Virgin (follow the path from Subterranean Inquisition Chamber and defeat the Abductor Virgin boss, the site of grace is in the boss room)
Subterranean Inquisition Chamber (from Schoolhouse Classroom in Academy of Raya Lucaria, turn around facing west and go downstairs to exit the room, turn right towards the big moving wheel and follow the cliffside left of the moving wheel. There’s a single enemy holding a torch at the end of the cliff, next to him you can jump on the moving platform on the wheel, stay on it for about 20 seconds until you reach near the bottom and can jump off to a cliff in south-east direction. From this cliff drop down east and you will come to an area with a mechanical enemy that likes to grab you and puts you into its body. You have to let this enemy kill you while trapped inside its body, then after the death it teleports you to a secret entrance to Volcano Manor with lots of lava. Go through the lava by hopping from one little island to the next and then head left to enter a cave and drop down, leading you to this site of grace).
