Welcome to the Elden Ring Walkthrough for Stormveil Castle region! Stormveil Castle is the second major location you should head to in the game, which becomes accessible immediately after defeating Margit. It is a more traditional “souls” area, being comprised of the entire castle interior and grounds, with the path out the back of the castle becoming accessible after defeating the boss inside.
The walkthrough will be broken up into two sections. The first section will be the path through the castle to reach the boss, with some quick-to-grab side items along the way. The second section will include the hidden out-of-the-way areas you can go to for items, but require a lot more exploring off the beaten path, starting from specific sites of grace within the castle.
For all other regions refer to Elden Ring Walkthrough.
Stormveil Castle
Progression Order:
- Stormveil Main Gate
- Stormveil Cliffside
- Rampart Tower
- Liftside Chamber
- Secluded Cell
- Godrick the Grafted
- Limgrave Tower Bridge
- Divine Tower of Limgrave
Side Areas:
- Castle Rooftops
- Second Stonesword Key gate
- Gateside Chamber
- Castle Sewer
Stormveil Main Gate
After defeating Margit you will be just outside the castle.
Continue forward up the path to find this site of grace directly in front of the main castle gate.
The gate is closed, so you will need to find a way inside. Before going to the door on the left, you can take a set of stairs down to the right to find a Furlcalling Finger Remedy.
You can then drop onto the wooden platform to the left of the stairs on the way back up, then follow the path to the end where you can find some Fire Grease.
To get back up there is a path immediately left out of the tunnel that leads outside the wall and back to the main path, or you can just fast travel to the nearby site of grace again. Once you do, go into the door to the left of the gate and speak with the NPC there.
He suggests going through the opening in the wall to the left. If you say you want to go through the main gate he will open it for you, but this is generally not advised as there are a ton of enemies staring directly at the main gate, along with a number of crossbow turrets waiting to shoot you if you try going in that way. There is a summoning pool statue just outside you can activate, then follow the path along the edge of the castle and then jump over the wall on the other side to the next area.
This outer wall area has a number of large hawks you will need to deal with. Watch if they get close, as they have large blades on their feet that they will slash you with from above. The game also suggests using a bow on them
You can go immediately to the right to continue to the next side of grace, or drop down to the left where you can grab some items in a quick loop. First go around to the left, where you will loop back inside the wall and can find 10 x Bolts on a corpse.
Head back around and jump up the sections of the cliff to reach the upper level. There is another enemy on the ground on the left by an item, but watch out for the two more that are up in the trees above. If you can, try to lead one of the away and fight them one by one, then grab the Smithing Stone [3] from the body.
You can then continue following the path around the tower to reach the next side of grace.
Stormveil Cliffside
You will now be climbing up the outer wall of the castle, continuing into a narrow inside room as well as making your way up to an elevator. To start, follow the stairs upwards, though watch out for the Exile at the top who will call the other nearby enemies over if they get off a trumpet call. Make sure to also loot the body on the way up to obtain the Marred Leather Shield, which inflicts bleed on enemies.
Continue up enter the door on the right to go inside. Inside there will be a bunch of Commoner enemies, but they’re much weaker and easier to deal with than the Exiles. You just need to watch out for the piles of barrels, as the Nobles will throw firebombs at them, causing large firey explosions to try and damage you.
The door in the wall is where you need to go to progress, but you need a key first to enter it. You can grab some Throwing Daggers from the body to the right, then some St. Trina’s Arrows in the hole in the wall, which also allows you to drop to the walkway on the outside to take out some more Exiles.
You can also drop down to the lower area of the room where there is one Exile walking around, though this one wields an axe and is tougher than the others. In the corner of the lower room, you can grab the Hookclaws weapon.
Continue up to the next level, watching out for the enemy throwing bombs down the hallway. On the top floor, there will be a door you need to enter.
Don’t worry if you played the Network Test, there’s no Grafted Scion in here, just a normal knight, though you do still get locked in and need to go in this room to continue. The knight uses some weapon abilities, such as a large shield slam that deals area damage. They are pretty open for backstabbing though if continually rotate to the right. Their attacks don’t do a lot of tracking until they wield their sword two-handed, then you want to roll or guard to avoid the swings.
If you die then you won’t get locked in again, so you can sprint in and grab the items if you want. Inside the chest in the corner, you can find the Curved Sword Talisman, which enhances guard counters. Then you can grab the Rusty Key from the body in the corner, which you need to enter the prior locked door.
Head through the door and climb the ladder to the top level. You can go to the end of the platform on the right to grab some Fire Grease. Jump from this level to the platform with the door leading outside, then you can follow the walkthrough through a couple more Exiles to the ledge on the inside again, where you can obtain the Brick Hammer weapon.
Now you can continue on the left path from the ladder to proceed further up the castle. Watch out for the enemy hiding to the immediate left before the stairs, then continue outside and up the next stairwell leading around the tower. There will be another large knight in this elevator room. They walk back and forth in this room, which makes them very good for getting in a backstab as they’re walking away.
If you’re feeling especially like not fighting them, you can move in for a backstab, then run back down then run back to the prior area, which causes the knight to return to walking back and forth, allowing another backstab. Continue up the stairs to the next level where there is an elevator you can use as a shortcut later. Jump to the back of it to grab a Drawstring Fire Grease, then proceed into the nearby room for the next site of grace.
Rampart Tower
To progress, you now need to head out the door leading inside the walls of the castle. Going up the other flight of stairs in the elevator room leads to what looks like a dead-end, but is how you get to some really out-of-the-way secret areas, which you can find instructions to reach later in the guide in the Castle Rooftop section.
To continue, you want to follow the path, where you will end up walking onto the roof of the church building and climbing down to the lower level. Watch out for more hawks along the wall as you go, as these ones will throw the barrel they start on at you, causing it to explode. Before progressing down the rooftop you can go into the corner where more barrels are. Watch for another hawk in the corner, then you can grab a Smithing Stone [2].
If you’re dropping down to the lower path there will be another knight and an Exile walking around. You are best off trying to backstab the Exile while they’re walking away, then you only need to deal with the knight by itself. You can get down a different way through if you drop off the opposite side of the rooftop, where you can grab 5 x Kukri off a body.
You can then go into the window, which happens to drop you directly into the room where Rogier is. Rogier is a sorcerer (and is the NPC you could have summoned for the Margit fight). He’ll tell you a bit about what he’s doing, then you are able to buy some Ashes of War from him (if you don’t purchase them now, he’ll be in the Roundtable Hold later and you can buy them then).
You can then continue out of this church, where you will need to deal with the knight and Exile to progress. Continue into the next building along the path.
Follow the path through the rooms until you are outside again, and there are a few paths you can take from here.
If you jump over the wall to the right first, there is one Exile you can backstab, then a Gold Pickled Fowl Foot on the right. Follow the walkway around the building and you can then drop onto the platform on the opposite side from where you started, behind the hanging Giant corpse.
Go into the nearby open door, and you can reach the platform in the large room where you can find a Stonesword Key on the body on the ledge, then a Pickled Turtle Neck in the nearby chest.
Go back into the building then you can go through the door in the wall, leading you to the area just past the area with the night walking around you walked around the outside of.
Go through the door on the right to reach the lit room with the knight. You can avoid the knight if you want, just jumping onto the platform and opening the chest when it’s not looking, obtaining the Mimic’s Veil item.
You then need to go into the next large room to progress. In here there is a Grafted Scion walking around, and you very likely want to avoid it if possible. It has quite a bit of health and deals a ton of damage.
If you want to take the side route through this area, you can go back through the door you opened prior and drop into the room with the Giant corpse. Watch out for the two dogs, then you can grab the Chrysalids’ Memento item off the pile of bodies in the middle. This item is given to Roderika at Stormhill Shack, after which she will move to Roundtable Hold.
Watch out when walking back into the other room because the Scion can move over here if you alert it again. Take the door to the immediate left, where you can find an elevator that takes you directly back up to the Rampart Tower site of grace.
Head back down the elevator, then try to enter the large room when the Scion is walking away from you. Go to the left and there is a door you can go through leading to an open area. By the statue on one end you can pick up a Somber Smithing Stone [2], then on the other side, there is a fog gate that you can use a Stonesword Key to get through.
If you choose to go through there will be a pair of axe-wielding Exiles waiting for you, but then you will also be able to obtain a Hawk Crest Wooden Shield, a Misericorde sword, and the Iron Whetblade, which allows you to change weapons to more types when assigning Ashes of War.
Head back to the room with the Scion (if you want to make sure it loses track of you you can warp back to the site of grace). In the room where the Scion wanders around, there are two more items you can grab, a Staunching Boluses on the right, the Highland Axe at the front of the room under the large painting, then you need to go through the far door on the left to continue.
In the next room you can go through the door on the immediate left to reach the upper walkway, dealing with the one enemy then walking all the way back around to obtain 10 x Arrows.
To proceed now you need to walk out into the courtyard. The issue with the courtyard is that there are a large number of Exiles walking around, with a number of them on flame turrets that will shoot at you if you walk into the middle of the area. The best course of action is to run left immediately out of the door, getting into the corner of the area behind where the enemies are. You can wait for alerted enemies to come near you at a slower pace, then work your way through the courtyard clearing out the others.
There will also be a stairwell in the corner leading underground. In this room there will be a number of rats, then you can go to the end of the room to obtain a Fireproof Dried Liver, along with go through another Stonesword Key door. The description of this area will be later in the walkthrough in the Second Stonesword Key Gate section (it leads to some areas around the back of the front gate).
Back in the courtyard, carefully clear out the Exiles in the area, but don’t go too far towards the north to the castle yet or down the slope to the east (that leads to the main gate and there are some tough enemies there). You can loot some bodies lying around in the courtyard, with the most interesting item you can find is the Pike weapon along with some Golden Runes of various levels.
You can also go up into the two wooden platforms on either side of the courtyard, where you can find 12 x Fire Arrows on the left, and a Wooden Greatshield on the right.
Now you have to deal with the rest of the courtyard. Through a door on the left side, you can find the Prophecy Painting item. There are two more enemies by the stairs, one dog and a tough sword-wielding enemy. There is a statue directly in front of it that can be broken for Smithing Stones (we’ll get to that in a bit). The next site of grace is through the door on the far building, which it might be worth sprinting to from here if you aren’t confident with the enemy on the lower are or are low on supplies.
If you are making your way up the stairs there are two more items you can also grab, 8 x Mushrooms on the body to the right of the stairs, then a Furlcalling Finger Remedy on the body halfway up the stairs.
The large enemy has a dog near it, that can alert it if you get in its line of sight. The best method to deal with them is to take the dog out first, then you’re only dealing with the large enemy. It primarily does large swings with its sword, then a couple of different grabs and stops.
Just to the left by the door leading to the site of grace you can pick up 2 x Smithing Stone [1], then head in and activate the site of grace. (The ledge where the Smithing Stones are can be dropped off to reach a lower area, but that will be explained later on in the Castle Sewer section).
Liftside Chamber
From this site of grace, there is a locked door on the back wall and an elevator. The elevator leads to a side path running you right near the area boss, but we won’t go that way yet. You first want to go back out towards the courtyard, then proceed up the stairs ahead.
Watch out for the eagles perched ahead, as they are stronger than the prior ones and can spit fire at you. Take an immediate left up the stairs, watching out for the enemy on the right by the barrels and grabbing the Smithing Stone [2] from the body ahead.
Go back and then continue down the main path, watching out for the next enemies by the wooden walls. You can then go into a room immediately on the right where you can meet Nepheli. Speak to her a couple of times, then she will be available to you as an NPC summon at the boss fight ahead. You can also grab 4 x Smithing Stone [1] from the corner of this room.
Head back outside and continue to the right. Between the two large trees, there is a small gold tree, where you can pick up a Golden Seed at the base, which you should use as soon as you can for another Flask charge.
You can then continue down the path a bit. You should notice a Giant at the top of the next set of stairs along with two Exiles. You will deal with them in a minute, but before that, you can go into a walkway on the right of the area for a Smithing Stone [2].
What you now want to do is get near enough to alert the Giant (or shoot it to alert it). You then can lead it back to the courtyard area where you will be aiming to get it to smash the statue in the courtyard. If you rested at the site of grace and want to make this easier you can go back and kill the enemy by the statue again first, or lead the giant over and hope it also kills that enemy too. When you do get the Giant to destroy the statue, you can pick up 1 x Smithing Stone [1] and 1 x Smithing Stone [2].
Now you can go back to the site of grace, and up the nearby elevator. Head inside the next part of the building, If you take look to the right you can see a Teardrop Scarab at the bottom of the slope, which will drop a Stormcaller Ash of War. To the left, you can find a bunch of Living Jars, with a big one at the back right. In the corners of this area, you can find 2 x Cracked Pot.
Once picking all those up you can continue down the slope to the right and through the next hallway, where you can find the final site of grace before the area boss.
Secluded Cell
This is the final site of grace before the area boss. From this room going to the left leads back out to the Giant you would have led to the statue before, then to the right leads through the boss fog door. Assuming you’ve talked to Nepheli earlier, you can summon her from her sign on the right side before heading into the boss right.
Heading through the gold fog gate takes you immediately into the boss fight. If you want to search for other items or level in between, you can check the Side Areas section of the guide underneath for extra areas in the castle to explore.
Godrick the Grafted
Reward: Godrick’s Great Rune + Remembrance of the Grafted + 15000 Runes
Godrick is the first main boss of the game. He is a big mutated abomination with multiple arms.
He attacks with an axe and can also deal AoE damage with his attacks. He is also a parkour aficionado who likes rolling around on the floor. While far away from you he will swing his axe which will surround him with a windy aura and will throw 2 swirl projectiles at you. Once again spells make damaging the boss pretty easy since you only have to care about the projectiles, which are actually pretty difficult to dodge completely but you can luckily tank them with your shield.
Once you take half his health he will cut off his arm and attach a dragon’s head to his missing limb. He will use the head to spray flames at you and it has some really decent range so beware of that. Additionally, his swirl projectiles will now be on fire so tanking it will damage you a bit from now on.
When he is spraying fire you either want to try moving as far away from him as possible, or run directly towers him to the right (his left). His sweeps normally start from his right, so you can get around them by running quickly towards him to get behind him while he slowly turns.
To make the fight a bit easier you might want to summon Ashes like the Wandering Nobles so they can distract the boss a bit in the second phase. They will not survive for a long time but long enough to give you some openings to attack the boss.
Once Godrick is defeated you obtain Godrick’s Great Rune and Remembrance of the Grafted. Remembrances are Elden Ring’s equivalent of boss souls from prior games, meaning if used they give a large number of Runes, but you don’t want to do that, because you want to trade them for items later. Great Runes you get from defeating specific bosses, which are then items you can equip that give increased stats or other bonuses, and we’ll go activate this first one in a moment.
Continue forward and enter the building in front of you. To continue, proceed to the left and then drop down into the next area. Immediately turn around and you can see a ghost, with a Shabriri Grape beside it.
You can then proceed outside to the start of the Liurnia of the Lakes region, with the Lake-Facing Cliff site of grace just to the left.
You shouldn’t start proceeding into this area yet though, there’s still one more main thing to do in Stormveil tower. Travel back to Liftside Chamber (or Gateside Chamber if you have explored the side areas). Your goal now is going to be reaching the area on the est side of the, leading out to the large bridge.
Your goal is to get inside the large tower, whichever direction you decide to come from. Watch out for the large lion enemy on the right side of the statues, as it is quite tough. You can feel free to just sprint into the building, as it won’t follow you inside. The easiest way to deal with it is to just shoot it with a bow or crossbow from the doorway, as it can’t hit you and just moves around in front of the door. Killing it will award you with a Somber Smithing Stone [1], 2 x Beast Blood, and 2 x Old Fang.
On the other side, you can activate the Limgrave Tower Bridge site of grace.
Limgrave Tower Bridge
Continue up the stairs from the site of grace. On the left, before proceeding onto the bridge you can pick up the Boltdrake Talisman.
Once you walk onto the bridge, there are three Guardian Golem enemies that will wake up. You can choose to just avoid them if you want and run to the end of the bridge, or you can take them out. They look a lot tough than they are, because of how their damage mechanics work. Damaging their ankles will eventually cause them to fall over, allowing you to perform a backstab in the glowing part on their chest for massive damage.
They do deal damage to each other though, and the Golem on the far side shooting arrows will actually regularly hit his friends, knocking them over quickly for you. Use him to defeat the first two, and you may be able to get the Golem’s Halberd as a drop.
You can then continue forward towards the bow-wielding Golem. Position yourself so the pillars closer to it are blocking the path of his arrows, then get up close and hit it in the ankles. It is also a lot weaker than the other two, so you might even kill it by hitting it in the ankles before it staggers. Just watch out for if it stomps or breathes fire at the ground.
Before continuing further, you can walk down the broken part of the bridge on the south to grab a Warming Stone.
Continue to the edge of the broken bridge and there will be a teleporter you can interact with taking you to the other side.
If you want there are some items you can grab just below first though. Carefully drop down the broken sections of the tower, then you can grab the Ash-of-War Scarab helmet on the left, and some Soft Cotton on the right.
Climb back up and take the teleporter across, which puts you directly in front of the tower. You can continue inside, or turn around and explore the bridge for some more items.
Most of the birds on the bridge are just fodder, but some are the larger Stormhawks that will attack when you get near (though no foot blades this time). Proceed forward and you can find a Golden Rune [2] in the second site balcony on the left, then a Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot by the second guardian body near the group of Stormhawks.
At the end of the bridge on the right side, you can find 5 x Stormhawk Feathers. You can then head back to the tower.
Head inside, then stand in the middle of the platform to take the elevator up. At the top you can activate the next side of grace.
Divine Tower of Limgrave
Continue up the stairs, then interact with the outline in the middle of the area.
This restores the power of Godrikc’s Great Rune. You can now go to a site of grace where you now have access to the Great Runes menu. Here you can choose to equip one Great Rune. To activate its power you need to use a Rune Arc, which can be found throughout the game world or are received by helping players in coop. This activates the ability of the Great Rune until your next death
What you want to do now is return to Roundtable Hold, where the doors on the west side of the main room will now be open.
Inside, speak with the woman on the left. This is Enia, who is the vendor you give Remembrances to, along with interpreting the words of the Two Fingers sitting in the room. There are locations in the game where you can duplicate Remembrances though, so you should possibly wait until then before trading in this first one.
After speaking with her, interact with the Two Fingers to receive the “Rapture” emote. While you’re here if you gave the Chrysalid’s Memento to Roderika at Stormhill Shack (you can leave and do this now then come back) she will now be over by the fireplace in the main room. Speak to her twice to obtain a Golden Seed.
You can low leave and either proceed through the Liurnia of the Lakes area or go exploring elsewhere in Limgrave and beyond.
Side Areas
Castle Rooftops
From the Rampart Tower site of grace, go back into the room with the elevator shaft you haven’t been able to go up prior, then you will proceed up to the top level.
You can jump across to the other side of the top level for some Throwing Daggers, then go out to the outer level of the tower and follow it around until you reach the outside part of the rooftop.
Watch out for all the Exiles in this area, then you can grab a Golden Rune [2] from a body nearby. To reach the next set of areas, you need to jump up onto the outside railing of the area, which then allows you to jump across to the half-broken tower nearby.
Inside the half-broken tower, you can drop down to the lower level to pick up a Stonesword Key.
You can then drop out onto the large rooftop, but watch out for the hawk that is sitting directly above the door that will attack you. Once it’s dealt with, you can grab the “Dozing Cross-Legged” emote on the rooftop on a body.
Take a look towards the north and you should see another path on the rooftop. You are going to need to go across, then jump up onto the small ledge around the tower, then reach the area across the gap.
Watch out for the Exiles in the area, then climb the ladder and grab the Claw Talisman off the corpse in the corner.
This is the last item you can reach from this area, so you can fast travel away now instead of trying to platform back.
Second Stonesword Key Gate
Head back to the second Stonesword Key gate (off the main courtyard) and head inside. In the next room, there are two chests. The chest on the left contains the Godlsayer’s Seal catalyst, while the chest on the right contains the Godskin Prayerbook, which you can give to a Cleric later to learn a couple of new incantations.
Continue out of the room onto the balcony. You can drop from here to the lower area which goes to the front gate, but you should go there later to clear out the enemies before progressing through the main path. Go around the wall to the right where there is a ladder that you should take to the higher area.
There is a body with 10 x Arrows on the right, then you can continue forward up the next ladder. Just ahead there will be 3 x Festering Bloody Finger on a body, then two enemies ahead. Try to alert just the enemy with the spear first for an easier time, instead of both him and the shield knight further back.
Continue across to the next rooftop, watching out for the two Exiles who will be to the left. Continue up the next ladder to the next rooftop, where there will be two more enemies along with the Nomadic Warriors Cookbook [10] that you can grab from a body on the right.
Taking the path across to the left rooftop leads to another knight and Exile, but no new enemies so up to you whether you feeling like fighting them or not. You should instead of back down the ladder to the prior area. You then want to stand on the pile of bricks in the corner and use them to jump up onto the wall, allowing you to drop to the area on the other side.
Below you need to watch out for the enemies, as there are two on crossbow turrets that fire exploding bolts, then the two Exiles with torches will throw bombs at you. Your aim is to follow the path to the left where the second turret is, as you can find the Arbalest weapon on a body.
Having these enemies dead can be helpful if you are trying to run through the lower path, but not needed because you can just sprint through, or get up here from the cliffs on the other side. This is the last item needed in this area, so you should now go back to the Stonesword Key room.
This time you are going to drop down to the lower area where the Exiles are all pointing crossbow turrets at the front gate. Make sure to drop off to the left highest level first, as you can’t reach that enemy from below.
On this level there will be a body with a Smithing Stone [2] to the right, then continue down the stairs to the lower area. There will be more Exiles to deal with, and a Smithing Stone [1] on another body. There are some more Exiles on the road looking towards the gate, and you want to head to the right of the gate into the room.
In here you can find a Golden Rune [5] on a body, along with the Gateside Chamber site of grace.
Gateside Chamber
There isn’t a huge amount you can do from this area, but it does give you a slightly shorter path to reach Limgrave Tower Bridge if you want. You an go out the nearby door to a small area where you can find the Commoner’s Simple Garb armor.
Back inside you can interact with the lever to open the front gate (if you didn’t have Gostoc open it earlier).
Head out in front of the gate and you can now easily grab all the items on them, which include 5 x Ballista Bolt and one each of Golden Rune [1] & [2].
If you haven’t defeated Godrick yet you can go speak to him and he’ll sell you some items, such as the Caestus weapon. If you do defeat Godrick then he’ll have moved into the boss room and is just continually stomping on Godrick’s head. If you want to can kill him now to obtain Gostoc’s Bell Bearing, which you can take to the Twin maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold, allowing you to purchase his inventory.
Castle Sewer
The Castle Sewer is the last major side area in the castle to check out. Starting from the Liftside Chamber site of grace, go up the elevator and into the room where you found all the Living Jars prior. You are going to want to go to the left side of the ledge where there is a body that has 8 x Kukri, then jump to the far ledge on the wall and follow it to the right where you can enter another room.
In the area below there is a knight and a hawk you can deal with, or ignore as the only item near them is 3 x Lump of Flesh to their right.
To continue, go through the door to the right going through the building again, then you will end up above the area with the Living Jars. To the right you can jump to a higher ledge for 3 x Smithing Stone [2], then continue to the left through the next doorway, making sure to grab the Golden Rune [2] and Smithing Stone [1] on the right.
There will be some Commoner enemies in the next large room, with the Manor Towershield on a body below the stairs.
Continue to the next ledge where you can grab a Smithing Stone [3] from the body, then follow the path down the wall of the castle, where you can find a Golden Rune [5] on a body before going into the next room.
You’re now on the ledge above the Castle Sewer. Before doing anything you should go through the door on the left, which opens the path back to the Liftside Chamber site of grace, so you can get down to the sewer much easier now. The body directly in front on the ledge has 5 x Rainbow Stones, then if you go into the dark tunnel on the far right you can grab an Arteria Leaf after dealing with the bat above.
Drop down to the lower level, watching out for two more bats. You can then jump across the broken support to grab 2 x Smithing Stone [2], then follow the wooden path further down.
On the ground level, there will be a number of rates hanging around you should deal with, then continue forward where you can grab 3 x Poisonbloom from a body on the right.
There will be a blue Teardrop Scarab just ahead which will drop the Rancorcall sorcery.
You can then continue forward to what looks like a very obvious boss room (though it’s not really).
This enemy is basically a giant mutant rat. It does large sweep attacks with its tail and front legs, which are generally very slow and easy to dodge through or guard with a shield. Even if the attack uses all your stamina in a guard, it won’t attack quick enough again before you start regaining stamina. At about half health it will charge up and perform an area explosion around itself, which you should back away from when you see. It will then be covered in magic, so its attack may do chip damage to you when guarding. It will then also sometimes wind up and basically breath fire at you, which you should just run backward from if you see the charging in its mouth, as it won’t perform the attack that far in front of itself.
Once it dies it will drop a Golden Seed. There are some other items you can pick up in the room around it, with the most important to grab being a Stonesword Key. Continue out the other side of the room where you can pick up the Prince of Death’s Pustule talisman from a body on the right.
There is a ladder in this room that takes you back up to the castle proper, but there aren’t any items to grab there so you can just fast travel out of this hole if you want.

Great Walkthrough.. Thanks.

This guide led me to find 2 side areas that I couldn’t find. Thank you.
Siegfried says
I never gave Roderika the item, but she did move to Roundtable Hold and opened shop. When I returned to the shack, there was a Golden Seed there for me. Weird.
Josh says
Same. I tried to go back to the shack to give it to her after defeating Godrick, but she was already gone and the seed was there in her place. Seems like you must have a pretty narrow window in which to deliver it.
Kevinz says
Don’t forget to touch the blood stain at the bottom of the sewer. It’s part of an npc story quest.
Tadej says
where, do you have any pic or yt?
Kevmar1987 says
Hi there, first of all, thanks for your awesome work.
You maybe want to add that after you give Roderika the Chrysalid’s Memento, she opens a shop at the Roundtable (after some chats with the the smith and her).
She also takes off her headgear which can be found at the corpses in Stoneveil Castle right where you found the Memento.
Don’t kow if you are planning on putting it in a different section of the guide but i think it belongs to the castle.
