Noketella Eternal City is a secret area in Elden Ring. It also leads to another hidden area called Lake of Rot. This guide explains how to reach these areas.
Step 1: Talk to Renna and her Minions
After defeating Shardbearer Radahn (main story boss, unmissable), get through Caria Manor in the north of Liurnia and talk to Renna atop the Ranni’s Rise Tower. Then talk to her two ghost minions downstairs (Iji & Seluvis). Then talk to Renna again.
Step 2: Find Fingerslayer Blade in Nokron
Go to Nokron, Eternal City. It’s only open after defeating Shardbearer Radahn main boss. You can then access it through the hole in the ground 50 meters north-west from Fort Haight West site of grace in Weeping Peninsula (there will be floating rocks in the air above the hole). After defeating the boss “Mimic Tear”, cross the bridge and head left to find the site of grace “Ancestral Woods”. From there jump over to the rooftops and jump from one roof to the next until you reach the bottom area with some buildings, called Night’s Sacred Ground. At the end of the path in a chest you find the item “Fingerslayer Blade” which you must bring back to Renna. The entrance to Nokron is marked below.
Step 3: Return to Renna
Return to Renna in her tower, talk to her twice in a row and she’ll give you “Carian Inverted Statue”. This immediately opens up the tower north of where Renna is, about 100 meters away (Three Sisters area behind Caria Manor). In that tower you must use the teleporter (note: sometimes the tower can bug out and stays sealed, in that case use the Carian Inverted Statue in the Carian Study Hall in east Limgrave and come back).
Step 4: Use Portal to Reach Nokstella Eternal City
Use the teleporter to be brought to a new area called “Ainsel River Main” (1st image below). From where you arrive, there’s a glowing item straight ahead of you on a stone coffin just a few steps away, pick it up, it’s the “Miniature Ranni” doll (2nd image below). Sit at the site of grace to the immediate right. Click on “Talk to miniature Ranni” a few times to exhaust all dialogues until she says the same thing over and over again. She wants you to defeat Baleful Shadow inside Nokstella.
Step 5: Go through Nokstella to reach Lake of Rot
Follow the paths through Ainsel River Main and you’ll come to Nokstella Eternal City!
Now to get to Lake of Rot you will have to defeat the invader NPC “Baleful Shadow” deep within Nokstella. After this miniboss follow the path to reach the Lake of Rot.
It’s definitely one of the more complicated areas in the game to reach due to it being part of a long and elusive questline. This is actually part of the Age of the Stars ending questline. If you want to learn more about the remaining steps for that ending refer to the Endings Guide.
