Introduction
Welcome to the EA Sports UFC 5 Trophy Guide! About half the trophies can be done offline with a focus on the Singleplayer Career. The rest is done in Online Modes. To earn profile progress and cosmetic rewards you will need to be connected to PSN + EA servers at all times (linking an EA account is mandatory). The main online challenge is to win 3 matches in a row in Online Career or Ranked Championships to earn a Championship Belt, then play one more match to defend the title. You must also win 2 matches in a row in Blitz Battle mode. This is overall not too difficult as the game tries to match you to players of your own skill level. You could keep losing on purpose to get matched to weaker players. The Singleplayer trophies are super simple as they can all be done on ‘Easy’ difficulty which allows you to win every fight in 30 seconds. Focus on the Singleplayer Career first to learn the controls, the Training Camps do a good job at teaching the basics. Afterward practice against the AI on Legendary difficulty before jumping into the Online Modes. You can win most online matches quickly with submissions. Also learn how to manage your stamina (don’t attack when your stamina is below 50% as it will permanently reduce max stamina), and get good at blocking and dodging.
Step 1: Singleplayer Career Mode – Become GOAT
To familiarize with the game you should start by playing Solo Career Mode. From the Title Screen select “Career” and create a fighter. The end goal of the Career is to become the GOAT (Greatest of All Time).
If you want to finish this mode as fast as possible, select Easy difficulty, before every fight select the 1 week training camp (not 5-6 weeks), do only the Hype/Promotion, skip the sparring. In training camp press to skip the week. Then win the fight in the first round by submission. Press + + to do a takedown, then perform submissions until the enemy taps out (only takes 30-60 seconds to win each match). Select a Jiu-Jitsu background and put all Evolution Points into Takedowns & Submission Offense. Alternatively, you can also go for Knockouts but it’s more risky than Submissions. With Submissions it won’t matter that you skip the Sparring Sessions because the Easy difficulty AI won’t defend against Submission attempts and there’s no risk of you suffering injuries.
After winning the first few fights you will join the UFC. Then in the Career Title Screen there will be a “GOAT” menu that shows all requirements. At the bottom of this menu it shows your overall progress. To become GOAT you must complete any 6 of 10 Performance requirements and any 2 of 4 Promotion Requirements. There are more requirements than you need, allowing you to pick the easiest ones. Focus on the following requirements:
- 6 x Performance GOAT: 17 Submissions + 21 Finishes + 26 UFC Wins + 17 Consecutive Wins + 12 Consecutive UFC Title Defenses + 1 Two Division Champion (after becoming champion and doing a few title defenses you will get a message to join another weight class for a second title)
- 2 x Promotion GOAT: 8 Million Followers + 19 PPV Main Events
Just keep winning matches until you get all these. If you are about to lose a match, quickly close the game before it saves. Then it sets you back before the fight so it won’t break your Consecutive Win streak. You can also back up your save to PS Plus Cloud from time to time. Along the way you will unlock all other Career Trophies and most combat-specific trophies. Becoming GOAT automatically unlocks 5 Accolades to fully customize your player card.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you are online and connected to PSN + EA Servers. You must have linked an EA Account to your PSN (if you played previous EA games online it will already be linked). Being online is mandatory to earn the 5 Accolades for I Did That. Accolades & profile progress can’t be earned offline! If you were to play the Career completely offline or without linking an EA account, you’d miss out on all the profile progress.
Step 2: Online Trophies
From Online Modes you need the following:
- Online Career – must prestige a fighter in “Online Career”. After reaching the level cap (put 1000 Evolution Points into one fighter) you can ‘prestige’ a fighter which resets the Evolution Points.
- Get to Round 3 in Blitz Battle – from online mode select “Blitz”. You must win 2 matches in a row to advance to the 3rd round (winning the 3rd round isn’t required). This mode changes every 24 hours with different win conditions.
- Become Champion in Online Career or Ranked Championship – Win 3 matches in a row in either Online Career or Ranked Championships. This will give you the Champion Title. Then play one more match to defend the title.
- Equip 5 Accolades / Fully Customize your Player Card – you will have 5 Accolades automatically after becoming GOAT in Solo Career. These can be customized by pressing Touchpad in Title Screen > Customize Player Card.
- Acquire a Legendary Item – Go to the Title Screen and click on “Store”. Check the Fight Store & Fight Bundles menu for a Legendary Item (orange color). You can either buy these with in-game golden coins or spend real money on microtransactions to acquire them. They are also available during Fight Weeks as rewards from Fight Week Challenges. You can earn the in-game currency (golden coins) by playing Fight Contracts, Fight Week Picks, and leveling up your Punch Card. The items for sale frequently change, if none is available check back when the store refreshes (it shows in the store how many days are left until the refresh). After buying a legendary cosmetic open the “Edit Appearance” menu of your fighter in online career to pop the trophy (it doesn’t unlock immediately when buying the legendary item).
- Unlock all Challenges during a Fight Week / Make picks for Fight Week – “Fight Week” is a live service mode that’s only available in the week when real-world UFC PPV events happen. So check the schedule when the next UFC PPV is coming up (every couple weeks). Then remember to get the 3 Fight Week trophies during that week.
How to Boost Online Trophies:
- The main thing worth boosting is the Online Career / Championship Belt Defense. There are 4 weight classes. Search only in one weight class at the same time as your boosting partner (or if you have a 2nd PS5 you can boost against yourself). It takes a bit of trial and error to figure out which weight class has the least players. Play during quiet hours when fewer people are online, around 11AM CET – 1PM CET / 5AM ET – 7 AM ET / 2AM PT – 4 AM PT.
- You can only fight against another account ONCE per mode! Meaning, you will never find your boosting partner again after one match. To circumvent this, you will need to set up a new PSN account + link it to an EA account for every match. Then search again at same time to find your new account. This is very time consuming and annoying to set up but it’s the only way you will find the other player in matchmaking again. The game has built-in boosting prevention to never rematch you against the same person repeatedly. You can’t cycle between 2 accounts either, if you recently played against an account you won’t find it in matchmaking again even if you played against several other players in between. So ideally, prepare at least 4 new PSN + linked EA accounts for boosting the Championship Title. You can find the boosting account again in another mode. E.g. even if you won 1 match already in Career Mode against the account, you can get matched again once in Blitz Battle. But then it will also stop working in Blitz Battle too and your boosting partner must switch to a new account (you need 2 consecutive wins in Blitz and 3 in Career or Ranked Championships).
- Blitz Battles can be boosted too. Even if you are in the 2nd round it will match you to players who just joined the 1st round – if no other player is available in the 2nd round it will automatically skip the newly joined player to round 2. In Blitz Battle you only need 2 successive wins.

*ONLINE TROPHY – FIGHT WEEK MODE*
Fight Week is a new live service online mode that unlocks in the week leading up to real-world UFC PPV events. So you’ll have to check the UFC schedule when PPVs are coming up. Then in the title screen, while connected to the online servers, it will show the “Fight Week” Menu at the top. During Fight Week special challenges are available, each gives a reward. You can find them in the Fight Week Hub > Challenges. There are usually 10 Challenges per Fight Week. These are just repetitive tasks that count across all game modes, things like throwing 750 strikes, landing 25 strikes to the body, land 750 punches to the head, land 150 leg kicks, win 25 fights in any mode, complete a certain number of fights in a specific weight class, complete/win fights as a certain fighter type (e.g. boxer) etc. The exact challenge requirements change every fight week. If you missed a fight week you must wait until the next UFC PPV every couple of weeks. Note: the trophy may not pop immediately after completing the last challenge. Open the Fight Week Menu again and it should unlock. |

*SINGLEPLAYER CAREER MODE*
In Career Mode, after joining Dana White’s Contender Series, you will get to pick sparring sessions before fights. Pick a sparring or heavy bag workout and complete all challenges before time runs out. The easiest option is to choose heavy bag workaround as it only requires doing simple punches without an opponent. Doing the other sparring sessions also works for the trophy. |

Click this to enter the Fight Week Hub, then click to switch to the “Picks” Menu. In the Picks Menu click on “Set Pick” before the week ends. This will let you make Picks for the upcoming real-world PPV event. You can also earn gold coins (in-game currency) if your picks turn out correct. |
||
Position Over Submission Release a Submission to advance your position. |
||
*ANY MODE*
Basically, every submission requires you to move to the submission position on the ground, then you must press the stick again in the direction of the submission to perform it, but for this trophy you must do the opposite and move to a different position. Odds are this will come naturally at some point without even trying, especially if you use submissions a lot. It won’t unlock if the opponent defends your move away from the submission! You must successfully move to a different position without the opponent blocking it. |
||
Just Bleed Have a Doctor enter the cage to check out a cut. |
||
*ANY MODE*
If you get injured during a match you will get icons below your health bar. You especially want to suffer head damage to get an icon that looks like a medkit (other icons don’t lead to doctor stoppage, only the medkit icon does). Depending on the severity of the injury the color of the icon will change from yellow > orange > red (with red being the most severe injury). Intentionally keep getting hit in the head until the medkit icon turns red. This gives a chance that a cutscene will trigger of a doctor entering the ring to check your injury. This is somewhat random but as the medkit icon turns red the chance increases. The best approach is to fight the CPU on Legendary difficulty (I used “Fight Now” Mode > Championship Fight > Competitive Style). Just keep getting hit, try to survive as long as possible without getting knocked out. |
||
Spinning Shh… Land a spinning attack on your opponent. |
||
*ANY MODE*
Press + , to do a spinning elbow (if the fighter has this move unlocked). For example, it can be done with Israel Adesanya (Middleweight). + will initiate the spin, while spinning you must quickly press to transition into an elbow attack. It must hit the enemy to pop the trophy, won’t unlock if you miss. |
||
Headshot…Bang! Knockout an opponent on the same side they are damaged on. |
||
*ANY MODE*
First you want to make an enemy bleed on one side of their face. Then keep attacking the bleeding side of the face to knock out the opponent. You can play on Easy difficulty for this and keep spamming the same strikes over and over again. Odds are this will come naturally as one of your first trophies. |
||
The Best There Is Upgrade a move during a fight or training in Career Mode. |
||
*SINGLEPLAYER CAREER MODE*
In Career Mode, keep using the same move repeatedly until you get a “Move Level-up”. Each hit you land gives XP towards the move (doesn’t necessarily have to be kockouts/submissions). This trophy is guaranteed to come automatically during Career Mode, as you fight you will automatically level up moves. You can keep track of your Move Levels under Career > Fighter Evolution > Moves. When a move levels up it will also show a popup message at the top of the screen. |
||
The Best There Was Prestige a move in Career Mode. |
||
*SINGLEPLAYER CAREER MODE*
First, you must reach Level 5 with any move. This is done by repeatedly using the same move, each hit you land during matches and training camp will increase the Move XP. It doesn’t necessarily need to be the knockout in matches, every use increases the XP. You can keep track of your Move Levels under Career > Fighter Evolution > Moves. When a move levels up it will also show a popup message at the top of the screen. After reaching Level 5, you must still reach Prestige. This is done by completing finishes, knockdowns, knockouts, submissions with a level 5 move. You can see the exact requirement and progress in the “Fighter Evolution > Moves” menu of Career Mode. |
||
Shape Shifter Acquire an Alter Ego Fighter. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY*
Alter Egos are unlockable fighters.
If you bought the game on the account with which you are playing, it will autopop the trophy when booting up the game. It will say new fighters are available for download and the trophy will pop in the title screen. You must be connected to the online servers (PSN + EA account) for this. IMPORTANT: The Alter Ego Fighters are account-bound. If you buy a digital copy on your account it will autopop the trophy. If you buy a new physical disc you can redeem the codes that come with it (game region must match your account region). If you rent/buy a used physical copy, it might not come with the codes and you’ll instead have to unlock Alter Ego Fighters from the Fight Week Challenges / in-game store during Fight Week. |
||
The Best There Ever Will Be Become the GOAT in Career Mode. |
||
*SINGLEPLAYER CAREER MODE*
In Singleplayer Career Mode (not Online Career) you must obtain the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) status. After finishing the first few fights and joining the UFC, you will see the “GOAT” menu in the Career Title Screen. You can click this to view your overall progress. The nice thing is that you don’t need to fulfill all requirements. You only need any 6 Performance Records (of 10 total) + any 2 Promotion Records (of 4 total). This allows you to pick and choose what’s easiest for you. The important thing here is that you obtain these records before your longevity runs out (the “health bar” in the Career Title Screen, top right corner below fans). You can’t keep fighting forever, regardless of how well you do you always lose longevity after matches. Eventually your fighter gets too old and must retire. So if you were to lose more matches than you win this could technically become missable. The fastest method is to play on “Easy”, always pick 1 Week Training Camp before fights (not the long 5-6 weeks). Then do only the Promotion to gain more fans and fight hype, skip the Sparring Sessions because they take too long, simulate the week with to skip to the fight. Then quickly submit or knockout the opponent. On easy the AI rarely blocks or escapes submissions so you can finish every match within 30 seconds in the first round. By skipping all the training you save a lot of time. You will start out with lower “Fitness” but on easy this doesn’t matter. Just put your evolution points into the fighting style you prefer (Kick Power/Punch Power for Knockouts or Submission Offense/Takedowns for submissions). If you lose a match, quickly close the game so it doesn’t count. Otherwise you break your successive win/title defense streak. You can also back up your save to PlayStation Plus Cloud from time to time, in case you don’t close the game quick enough and it saved you can copy back your PS+ Cloud Backup. Below are all GOAT Requirements and tips how to achieve them. The easiest ones are marked blue. Performance Records (6 of 10 needed for GOAT):
Promotion Records (2 of 4 needed for GOAT):
|
||
Relentless Finish a fight by ground and pound. |
||
*ANY MODE*
When your enemy is on the ground, attack with or to keep punching him in the face until he gets knocked out while lying on the ground. That’s called a “ground and pound”. You can takedown opponents with + + . Alternatively, when an opponent’s head or leg health is depleted they will get knocked down and you can press to start a ground and pound. |
||
You Either Win or Learn Finish a fight by choke submission. |
||
*ANY MODE*
Choke submissions are any that focus on the head, such as Guilottines, Rear Naked Chokes, D’arce Choke. For this you must finish the fight with such a Submission. This is best done with Jiu-Jitsu fighters.
|
||
Joint Venture Finish a fight by Joint Submission. |
||
*ANY MODE*
Joint Submissions are any that focus on the arms and legs, such as Armbars or Kimuras. For this you must finish the fight with such a Submission. This is best done with Jiu-Jitsu fighters.
|
||
Come Back to Bed Perform 5 successful takedowns in a fight. |
||
*ANY MODE*
Perform takedowns with:
Do 5 of these in a fight. After the takedown get back up and wait for your opponent to stand up so you can do another takedown. |
||
Fine Collection Acquire a Legendary Item. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – STORE*
In the Title Screen click on “Store”, must be connected to online services for this. Buy one Legendary Item from the Store (orange color item = legendary). Here’s an example of a legendary item: They can be bought with the in-game golden coins or with microtransactions. Alternatively, you can earn Legendary items from Fight Week Challenges as rewards (Fight Week is only available in the week before real-world UFC PPV events). You can get the in-game golden coins from playing Fight Contracts, from successful Picks during Fight Weeks, and increasing your Punch Card Level. The Punch Card is separate from your profile level, it can be seen by pressing Touchpad in Title Screen > Punch Card. It will show the reward for each level, some rewards are items and some are coins. After buying the Legendary Cosmetic, go to Online > Online Career > click on your fighter > Edit Appearance . This opens the edit menu and the trophy unlocks here. The trophy DOESN’T unlock immediately when purchasing the Legendary Item, which can make it seem bugged but it’s not. Only after entering your fighter’s edit menu it will count as “acquired” and pop the trophy. You don’t have to equip the item however. Legendary Cosmetics cost around 4000 Golden Coins from the Daily/Weekly category. Some cost up to 10,000 but those are too expensive and should be avoided. Just check every day when the store refreshes until there’s one you can afford. After becoming GOAT in the Singleplayer Career you should have 4000 Gold Coins and can get more by playing the Fight Contracts. If you don’t have enough Coins just wait for the next Fight Week and do a Legendary Challenge to get a Legendary Item as a free reward. Note: Legendary Accolades DON’T unlock the trophy. It has to be a Legendary cosmetic. |
||
Let me Tell You a Secret KO your opponent from clinch. |
||
*ANY MODE*
Initiate a clinch with + (Orthodox stance) / + (Southpaw stance) > then keep hitting with > repeat this over and over again until the enemy gets knocked out from this (while holding him in the clinch). It’s best to use a Kickboxer with a high rating and pick a weak opponent with a low rating on ‘Easy’ difficulty. You can also weaken up the opponent beforehand, hit the head with stronger attacks until the opponent bleeds and is injured, then do clinches for the knockout. |
||
Don’t Judge Me Edit all categories from your Player Card. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – PLAYER CARD*
From the Title Screen press Touchpad (must be connected to PSN & EA Servers) > Customize Player Card. To unlock the trophy you must change the background + profile pic + flair + all 5 Accolade Slots (see I Did That). The trophy unlocks after quitting out of the player card customization menu, not immediately when editing the card. |
||
I Did That Equip 5 accolades in your Player Card. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – PLAYER CARD*
After becoming GOAT in Solo Career Mode you will automatically have 5 Accolades. These are equipped under Title Screen> press Touchpad (must be connected to PSN & EA Servers) > Customize Player Card > Accolades. Equip one in each of the 5 available slots. You get these 5-6 Accolades automatically by the time you reach GOAT status in Solo Career Mode but you must be connected to the online servers to unlock them in your player profile (they don’t unlock offline):
The trophy unlocks after quitting out of the player card customization menu, not immediately when editing the card. |
||
Pound for Pound Prestige a fighter in Online Career. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – ONLINE CAREER*
In Online Career, after putting 1000 Evolution Points into one fighter you can ‘prestige’ that fighter to unlock the trophy. It will reset the Evolution Points but unlocks new Perk Slots in return. You need to keep playing matches to get more Evolution Points. |
||
Road to Gold Start a season in Online Career. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – ONLINE CAREER*
Finish your first match in Online > Online Career, in any weight class. Unlocks after the first match in the online career mode. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, also unlocks after a loss. |
||
Never Skip Leg Day Upgrade a fighter in Online Career. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – ONLINE CAREER*
Go to Online > Online Career > create a fighter in any weight class. Then click the character icon > Fighter Evolution > select any Attribute and hold to upgrade it. This immediately unlocks the trophy. You start out with 100 Evolution Points automatically. Each additional win grants more Evolution Points. |
||
A Quick Round Enter a Blitz Battle. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – BLITZ BATTLE*
Go to Online > Blitz Battles > select and join the Blitz Tournament (these events change every 24 hours). Finish one match in this mode, the trophy unlocks after the match. For this it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it still unlocks upon a loss. |
||
Blitz Battler Get to Round 3 of a Blitz Battle. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – BLITZ BATTLE*
Go to Online > Blitz Battles > select and join the Blitz Tournament (these events change every 24 hours). Win two matches in a row to unlock this trophy. This will make you reach Round 3. You DON’T need to win Round 3, the trophy unlocks immediately after the second win upon reaching Round 3. The rules will be different each tournament. If you lose you can simply rejoin the Blitz Battle to start over and retry until you get 2 consecutive wins. |
||
Block This Use a Guard Breaking strike to break your opponents block. |
||
*ANY MODE*
The wording of this trophy is slightly misleading, it says “strike” but you must use specific Kicks that have a “Guard Break” icon in the movelist. You can check the Move List of fighters for Punches / Kicks that have a yellow “Guard Break” icon. Use such kicks on blocking enemies. To view the move list, during a fight press > Game Help > View Moves, scroll down the Kicks to see if one has the yellow icon. Most Kickboxers have at least one such kick. For example, use Israel Adesanya (Middleweight), press + hold for a Jumping Switch Kick (don’t press the stick in any direction, just those two buttons). Keep spamming this until the trophy pops. |
||
And Still Become champion and defend the title once in Ranked Championship or Online Career. |
||
*ONLINE TROPHY – ONLINE CAREER / RANKED CHAMPIONSHIPS*
In either “Online Career” or “Ranked Championships” mode, win 3 fights in a row to earn a title. Then while holding the title WIN one more match (it won’t unlock the trophy if you lose the Title Defense match). This is one of the trickier trophies because you must win matches. The good thing is that the game tries to match you with players of equal skill levels. If you struggle a lot with winning online, an easy tactic is to do Submissions. Most players at lower ranks have trouble defending against them. Also practice against the AI on Legendary Difficulty until you are confident with the controls and win frequently. Another approach would be to practice the online mode on an alternate account first, then intentionally lose matches on your main account to get matched to weak opponents, because your real skill level is actually higher you have better odds of defeating them. Boosting this is also possible. Refer to Step 2 of the Roadmap for boosting instructions. |

Very fun game, had a blast with this one!
The online trophies aren’t too bad in this.
One thing I could use confirmation on is whether “And Still” unlocks if you lose the Online Title Defense Match. Personally, I won the title defense when it unlocked. The trophy description is a bit vague on this, if it unlocks on a loss that makes it easier.
I also still need to finish Fighter Prestige in online career. From the developer’s official ‘Game Mode Deep Dive’ it is confirmed that prestige will be for reaching the ‘level cap’ and then you can reset the fighter. Right now there aren’t enough people playing, if anyone gets it let me know in the comments. I think it’s for investing 1000 Evo Points in a fighter and then resetting that fighter to get Prestige.
Fight Week isn’t available yet, the first one will be live in the week from November 06 – November 12 before the next UFC PPV. But they already showed it in the ‘Game Mode Deep Dive’ video so it’s known what it will entail.
john says
How do you know that fight week is only for ppv events and not fight nights? Also, I can confirm that you are correct inb our assumption for the prestige trophy. Also, the “and still” trophy isn’t really vague. The title is “and still” which means you’re still champion and it says defend your title which means you have to keep it so unless it’s incorrect then I would assume you need to win
PowerPyx says
In the official ‘Game Modes Deep Dive’ trailer, they stated (quote) “in the buildup to the *biggest* UFC events you will be able to take part in a series of all new challenges and features”. When they say *biggest* this indicates it will only be available for some but not all UFC events, makes me think main PPVs will get it. There’s also an article on EA website about this mode but they don’t specify whether Fight Nights will be featured in-game. Guess we’ll find out next Fight Night.
For “And Still”, yep I think you’re right and it requires winning, given the trophy name. Someone else pointed out that was also the case in UFC4. If anyone can for sure confirm/test it on a loss that’d be great though so we have 100% confirmation.
Did you get the prestige trophy? Was it just pumping 1000 Evo points into a single fighter and then you can click something to prestige?
Anonymous says
I assume ‘And Still’ is the same as UFC 4, where you have to win. The description is the same (I think), so the requirements should be as well
john says
Yes, I got the prestige trophy and it’s exactly what you assumed. Once you use 1000 points you can choose to prestige which resets your fighter and you get the trophy.
Anon says
“And Still…” Doesn’t unlock if you lose the title fight. I can 100% confirm this; as I lost lol
Max says
For information, in case of the loss of the title fight, the trophy does not fall.
Checked in my case.
Obtained only after the victory of La Défense.
Regarding the prestige trophy, you must actually raise the character to 1000 points and once done, there is a line that appears to pass prestige. This information is 100% reliable because I got the 2 trophies today.
Lee says
Pound for pound how long to reach level cap? Iv finished career so now doing online. Got like 70% trophy’s in one sitting lol
pat says
i’m playing on the 10 hour ea trial and the trophies aren’t popping at all do i need the full game? cuz they worked on fc24
Max says
Yes, you need the full game.
The trial version does not unlock the trophies.
I played on it before buying the game and no trophy fell. With the purchased version, no problem.

john says
I can’t find the fight week section at all. Is it up yet? people have already begun earning the trophy
PowerPyx says
It is live right now but will go away in a couple days. It’s only available in the week leading up to real-world UFC PPVs.
Eliot says
I am doing the fight week challenges and none of them are counting? Is it also fine if I have paid to skip one of them?
Angry dude says
Anyone want to boost and still! Trophy I’ve had 18 fights lost everyone I just don’t even stand a chance seems really slow delayed fighting really struggling hate online trophies can anyone help get this out the way?
