Starting Location: The Black Widow
The Black Widow is a side quest in The Wharf that can be started by talking to Jolly on the PK Floating Fortress after completing Main Quest “The Lost Light / Cathedral”.
Find Josh in the Fish Eye at night
Head to the Fish Eye Canteen at night and speak to the lady at the bar.
Search nearby rooftops for Josh
Head to the marked location to the north and kill the Infected knocking on the roller door before opening.
Ask Josh about Elena
Go inside for a cutscene.
Defend Josh
Infected will attack so kill them all. Part way through, Josh will ask you to turn on the fuses. Go into the corner to turn them on. Afterwards, speak to Josh.
Search Elena’s room for evidence
Head back to the Missy and go to the quarters downstairs. Picklock the door to Elena’s room and open the basket in the back.
After a conversation with Elena, you will be presented with a choice that will affect the ending:
- Elena poisons people: Elena is sentenced to death
- It’s nothing, officers: Quest continues
Ask the Plague Witch about the orange container’s contents
If you dismissed the officers, head to the Plague Witch at the Chapel of the Resurrection and speak to her.
Search the Cathedral for reagents
Head south to Saint Paul Cathedral and grab three reagents from cabinets in a chemical area.
Bring the reagents to the Plague Witch
Return to the Plague Witch.
Go to Elena’s cell
Return to the PK Floating Fortress and head to the cells.
Speak to Jolly for a choice:
- [Drink.]: Elena is released
- [Don’t drink.]: Elena is sentenced to death
This finishes The Black Widow Side Quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

In the night, I always got “Please Wait” when I try to talk to the girl at the bar. I cannot continue this side quest…Anyone knows a workaround?

If you choose to help elena youll have to go to plague witch, she will tell you to get some reagents from cathedral and tell you its antibiotics and not poison. then you go to elenas cell on the ship where you prove get the choice to drink the antibiotics to prove elenas innocence(2k xp for parkour and combat)

Elena gets arrested regardless which option you choose, it’s more a case like, she hates you less and actually asks you for help rather than her cursing you if you tell them she has poison.
Im curious is there a continueation of her story or is there only that one.
(If all ends well in that quest, she turns over a new leaf to do more “Green” work she says. But she ends up leaving the fish eye cus everyone knows her.)

When you talk to Josh and the fuses blow, you can actually farm the virals that spawn from the one single hole in the corner. Grab a strong weapon (dlc weapon) or kick them while they’re crawling out. Josh will deal with the other zombies most of the time. After a couple minutes, the virals will stop spawning. Let the biters kill Josh and this part of the quest resets, but the loot will stay. Happy uncommon trophy hunting without the nasty volatiles ruining your day!
