Wondering how to repair weapons in Dying Light 2? This guide got you covered.
In Dying Light 2 (DL2) you can only repair weapons with mod slots, which usually have blue rarity or better. Weapons without mod slots cannot be repaired! The way it works is that each mod repairs the weapon by +50 durability, but this can only be done once and not repeatedly. Once you put a mod on a weapon it cannot be changed or repaired again.
Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- First you need a weapon with mod slots & some mods to install in it. Weapons with Mod Slots are frequently found from high-rank human enemies, in the world, and from quest rewards. Mods (Tip, Shaft, Grip) are bought from Craftsmaster merchants (the first such merchant unlocks in Main Quest 4: The Only Way Out, at the Bazaar). They can also be found in the world or from quest rewards. This is what the purchasable mods look like at a Craftmaster merchant:
- Go to your inventory > scroll over a weapon you want to repair > press (PlayStation) / (Xbox) to “Modify”. If there’s no Modify button prompt it means the weapon has no mod slots and cannot be repaired.
- Install any Mod (Tip, Shaft, Grip) to repair 50 durability. Each mod restores exactly 50 durability, not more and not less. Weapons with 2 mod slots can only be repaired by 100 durability total (2 mods x 50 durability each). Weapons with 3 mod slots can be repaired for 150 total (3 x 50). This is a ONE TIME repair only! It cannot be repeated. Once you slot a mod, it cannot be removed or remodded. This means you cannot add new mods to repair the weapon again. It’s one repair and that’s it. If your weapon reaches 0 durability it gets destroyed automatically.
This is the only way to repair weapons in Dying Light 2 (DL2) so use your best weapons wisely.
Special Item: There is also a secret item called “Korek Weapon Charm” that allows you to repair weapons infinitely, it’s a weapon charm that can be applied to every weapon as often as you like but it’s found quite late into the game. See How to Get Korek Weapon Charm.
