To heal yourself in Dying Light 2 you must first get some healing items. Then you can use the item wheel (press D-Pad Up) to equip the item and press X (PlayStation) / A (Xbox) to use it.
Step 1 (Ingredients): The easiest option is to craft Medicine, which requires Honey and Chamomile. These ingredients are found at Roof Groves, indicated by yellow trees on rooftops. There will always be some Honey and Chamomile there.
Step 2 (Crafting): Once you have the ingredients, open the Crafting Menu and craft the “Medicine” blueprint. It’s unlocked automatically during the prologue, which teaches you how to do this. Alternatively, you can find Military Medkits around the world, which are rarer but heal you faster.
Step 3 (Consume Health Item): To use the health item, press UP on the directional Pad to open Item Wheel (PlayStation / Xbox / Nintendo Switch) > Select Medicine or Medkit from Item Wheel (on the left or right) to equip it to a quick slot > hold X (PlayStation) / A (Xbox) / B (Nintendo Switch) to consume the health item.
Crafted Medicine is a bit slower to consume. Military Medkits are quicker to consume and are better reserved for boss fights and larger enemy groups.
