Shadowed Prayers is a side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Shadowed Prayers side mission.
- Starting Location: Bakbattahl > Flamebearer Palace
- Quest Giver: Menella
- Requirement: Complete Nation of the Lambent Flame main quest
- Reward: 3500 XP, 18,000 G, 5 x Jasper
- Quest Description: An attempt was made on the life of the Empress of Battahl, and Ser Menella has asked your assistance in apprehending the assassin before he strikes again.
Objectives:
- Go to Flamebearer Palace in the morning
- Apprehend the assassin
Starting Location: Shadowed Prayers
To start this quest, head to the main entrance of Flamebearer Palace out the east side of Bakbattahl.
Go to Flamebearer Palace in the morning
Menella explains that someone made an attempt on the Empress’ life, and wants your help preventing it happening again. You can rest at the inn at the edge of town (also helpful to make sure you have a save if you mess up), then run back over to the palace entrance hallway where Menella and the Empress will be waiting. Note that once you start this bit of the quest by interacting with them you need to finish it now, or else the part of the quest will be failed.
Apprehend the assassin
The Empress commences the prayer, and you need to look for the assassin in the people praying on the steps. The assassin is a man with his hair tied back and a wound on their right arm. The wound can be hard to spot, but if you look for the man in a dark blue robe with tied back hair he should have a faint darker red band around his right arm. Grab them with 
to apprehend them.
If you didn’t grab the correct person you can reload your save from the inn and try again. After the following scene you will complete the quest.
This finishes the Shadowed Prayers side quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
