Introduction
Welcome to the Dragon Ball FighterZ Trophy Guide! This is a very easy but time-consuming platinum. The most time-consuming tasks are earning 20 million Zeni (the in-game money) and reaching 530,000 BP through online matches. Be prepared for a long grind! Most of the trophies are self-explanatory. The game takes place in a little hub area from where you can start different modes. Each trophy description includes in what mode the trophy must be done. You will have to play a bit in every mode.
Step 1: Tutorials
Once the game starts you’re greeted with a tutorial quest line. It’s just for going around the map and talking to everybody once. Do that and then head to the practice to do all combat tutorials.
Step 2: Story
Play through all 3 Story Arcs. This will earn you the 3 silver trophies from the story and the ones related to increasing you Link Level (Character Level) to 40. Once Android 21 joins your team in the third story arc, equip the skill “Victory EXP Up” for the remainder of the campaign. Then you’ll easily reach level 40 with her. She’s already level 31 when you unlock her. No need to bother with leveling up other characters before this point.
Step 3: Arcade
After the story, head over to the arcade and play through all 3 normal difficulty arcade paths. They are very quick to do. Each has a different number of fights (3, 5, 7). You must also earn an S-Rank in one Arcade path. The first one is the easiest as it has only 3 matches. Getting 2 S-Ranks and 1 A-Rank guarantees S-Rank in the end. To do this, simply spam combos (don’t press any directional buttons) and finish the match with a Meteor attack. Switch between your teammates regularly ( or ) so nobody’s health depletes entirely.
Step 4: Practice
By now you’ll have a good sense for the game’s controls. Go to the practice and do the 200 combo challenges and other practice trophies. There are 24 characters, each has 10 challenges. So you need 200/240 challenges. This means you can skip all the difficult challenges (#10 of each character)! It’s not that hard to do. Be sure to unlock all characters first so you have more challenges to choose from. 21 characters unlocked from the start and 3 you can unlock through game progression:
- Android 21: Beat the story
- Vegeta (SSGSS): Earn 300,000 Zeni or beat Arcade’s Gravity Spaceship Course with A-Rank on hard difficulty
- Goku (SSGSS): Earn 500,000 Zeni or beat Arcade’s Hyperbolic Time Chamber Course with A-Rank on hard difficulty.
If you get stuck in a combo challenge, you can view a demo in the pause menu.
Step 5: Online
For the online trophies you must play the following matches (just complete them, doesn’t matter if you win or lose):
- World Match: 20 Ranked Matches
- World Match: 10 Casual Matches
- World Match: Earn 530,000 BP
- Arena Match: 20 Matches
- Arena Match: 20 Casual Matches
To get 530,000 BP you need to keep playing Ranked World Matches. After ranking up (to about 200,000BP) you will start losing BP when losing a match. Also, when losing against lower-tier players you will lose BP.
Step 6: Farming 20,000,000 Zeni
After doing all other trophies you’ll still be a long way from 20 million Zeni. The fastest way to farm money is to repeat the Story on Hard Difficulty to get the “Victory Zeni Up Lv. 6” skills. You can stack three of these to earn even more Zeni. The Level 6 version is unlocked in the third story Arc on hard difficulty. After beating the story for the first time, you can start over on hard (must play through Story Arc 1 & 2 again). After beating Story Arc 3 you can just keep repeating matches with the Level 6 Victory Zeni Up equipped. You can win matches easily by spamming light attacks ( press ,no directional buttons). It’s a long long grind as you earn only a few thousand Zeni per match.

Snake Way Sensei Arcade – Complete the Snake Way Course. |
||
There are 3 Arcade ladders. For this trophy you must finish the first ladder “Snake Way Course”, which consists of only 3 matches. Simply just spam the button (no directional buttons) and you’ll easily win every match.
Extreme Gravity Guru Arcade – Complete the Extreme Gravity Spaceship Course. |

There are 3 Arcade ladders. For this trophy you must finish the second ladder “Extreme Gravity Spaceship Course”, which consists of 5 matches. Simply just spam the button (no directional buttons) and you’ll easily win every match.
Hyperbolic Heavyweight Arcade – Complete the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Course. |
||
There are 3 Arcade ladders. For this trophy you must finish the third ladder “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Course”, which consists of 7 matches. Simply just spam the button (no directional buttons) and you’ll easily win every match.
Care to Become the next God of Destruction? Arcade – Complete a course with an S Rank. |
||
This is best done in the first Arcade Course “Snake Way Course”. It has only 3 matches. After every match you are given a grade. They are (in order from worst to best): D, C, B, A, S. Aim for A and S Ranks in every match. It’s rather easy when you spam over and over again and finish off the last opponent with a Meteor Attack ( + , ). You don’t have to win all matches with an S Rank but they should be at least A Rank. If you get 2 x S and 1 x A you are guaranteed to get an overall S Rank at the end. |

Link Level 40 Story – Raise Link Level to 40. |
||
Update: A patch changed this trophy and now requires you to reach level 40 with 3 characters not just 1. If it doesn’t unlock after reaching level 40, keep playing and reach level 40 with 3 fighters and put them in your active team.
The Link Level is simply your character level in story mode. Every match you play rewards you with XP. Simply reach level 40 with any character. In Arc 3 of the story you will unlock the Character “Android 21”. She will be level 31 when you unlock her. Then equip the “Victory EXP Up” skill (you can stack 3 of them together) and play through the rest of the story. Even if you do just the bare minimum number of matches you’ll end up well above level 40. After the story you can also replay worlds to level up further. |
||
Bye-Bye Buu Story – Defeat Clone Kid Buu. |
||
At random points in the story, a “Clone Kid Buu” will replace one of the enemies on the map. The more enemies you clear out on a map, the higher the chance a Kid Buu will spawn on the remaining enemy spaces. For me this happened in Super Warrior Arc, Chapter 05, Map 05. I defeated all enemies except the most-southern one and the boss. Then a Kid Buu spawned. He’s a much higher level than normal enemies but you can easily defeat him by spamming combos. You can replay maps at any time, even after the story. Try the Super Warrior Arc, Chapter 05, Map 05 (defeat everyone except enemy furthest south + boss). Alternatively, try another map later into the game. Odds are you will see a Kid Buu spawn as you advance through the story.
Conversationalist Story – Trigger a special conversation sequence. |
||
Unmissable story trophy, cannot be missed. It unlocks in Super Warrior Arc Chapter 2 during the boss fight against Clone Goku (it’s the first story arc, the very first boss fight in the game).

Before Creation Comes Destruction… Practice – Complete 200 Different Combo Challenges. |
||
There are 240 Combo Challenges in Dragon Ball FighterZ. For this trophy you just need to do 200 of them. Each character has 10 combo challenges. There are 21 characters unlocked from the start and 3 can be unlocked through game progression, making it 24 characters total. Thus you have 240 challenges to choose from and can skip all of the difficult ones. The first 8 are always very easy. The 9th and 10th get more tricky. If you do 9 challenges with each character you’ll get the trophy in no time. To see how to unlock all characters check this: Dragon Ball FighterZ – How to Unlock all Characters. You can access the combo challenges via practice mode. VIDEO TIMELINE (in order of in-game challenge menu): #1 – Goku (Super Saiyan) – 0:05 |

This Pain Will Make Me Stronger! World Match – Play 20 Ranked Matches. |
||
The “World Match” section is found in the back of the hub area. Select ranked matches here. Wait until you’re paired up with a player and press the Options-Button to confirm. Luckily, you don’t have to win the 20 matches, just play them from start till end.
My Power Level is 530,000 World Match – Acquire 530,000 BP. |
||
For this you must play Ranked World Matches (see trophy “This Pain Will Make Me Stronger!”).
Each win gives you around 6500-7500BP. Each loss gives around 1000BP at first. Later (at around 200,000BP) you will lose BP when losing a match. You also lose BP when losing against lower-tier players. However, there is a trick (still need to confirm this myself but some users reported it to be working, give it a try and report your findings in the comments below): You can disconnect from the match when you are about to lose to keep your points. Quickly close the application before the match ends. It’s a very cheap tactic but makes the trophy much easier. You still have to be somewhat good in the game to defeat real players, or at least get lucky to find an easy target. |
||
Casual Combatant World Match – Play 10 Casual Matches. |
||
See trophy “Lemme Play Too!”.
Arena Enthusiast Arena Match – Play a match. |
||
*Glitched Trophy*
This trophy is known to be glitchy. It is obtainable but might take more than one arena match. If it doesn’t unlock just keep doing more Arena matches. See trophy “Arena Expert”. |
||
Arena Expert Arena Match – Play 10 matches. |
||
*Glitched Trophy*
This trophy is known to be glitchy. It is obtainable but requires more matches than 10 arena matches. If it doesn’t unlock just keep doing more Arena matches. See trophy “Arena Aficionado”. |
||
Just Looking Arena Match – Observe a match. |
||
Arena Matches can be started in the middle of the hub area (online only). There’s a big red circle. In front of it is a NPC you can talk to. Select “Observe”. It will take some time to find a match (must wait for the next battle). One it does it will start observing automatically (no need to accept anything). You can go away for 15 minutes and when you return the trophy will be yours. It pops after having observed the match (must watch it till the end).
It’s Play Time! World Match – Play a Casual Match. |
||
See Trophy “Lemme Play Too!”.
Lemme Play Too! World Match – Play 20 Casual Matches. |
||
The World Match section is found in the back of the hub area. Go there to search for a Casual Match against online players. Press the Options-Buttons to accept once it has paired you up with a player.
Stamp of Approval Replay – Use a Z Stamp while watching a Replay Channel. |
||
Go to the replay section. Now watch the replay of any match. You can go to an online lobby and click on “View Replay Channel”. Then press / to switch to top player channel or popular channel. Accept and choose to view all.
Now a replay loads. During the replay press and select a stamp. Press or to place the stamp. This unlocks the trophy. |
||
Deep Pockets Acquire 5,000,000 Zeni throughout the course of playing. |
||
See Trophy “Set for Life”.
Arena Aficionado Arena Match – Play 20 matches. |
||
*Glitched Trophy*
This trophy is known to be glitchy. It is obtainable but requires more matches than 20 arena matches. If it doesn’t unlock just keep doing more Arena matches. It might take 40-50 matches to unlock it. Arena Matches can be started in the middle of the hub area (online only). There’s a big red circle. In front of it is a NPC you can talk to. Select “Join an Arena Match”. Play 20 of those. It doens’t matter if you win or lose, just stay in the match from start till end. |
||
Set for Life Acquire 20,000,000 Zeni throughout the course of playing. |
||
For this you need to have earned 20 million Zeni (the in-game currency) across all modes. You don’t need to keep the money, it’s okay to spend it. So if you spend 19 million at the shop and then earn another 1 million the trophy will unlock (same for all other Zeni-related trophies — they just track how much you earned in total, not how much you have at the moment). However, to keep a better overview of your progress it’s advised to keep the money. Spending it offers no gameplay benefits whatsoever, it only unlocks some customization items, none of which affect combat. |
||
Millionaire Acquire 1,000,000 Zeni throughout the course of playing. |
||
See Trophy “Set for Life”.
Yo, I’m Goku! Complete a quest tutorial. |
||
See trophy “Farewell, Tien…”
Farewell, Tien… Complete seven or more quest tutorials. |
||
At the very start of the game you are given a series of mini-quests that will show you around the map, to explain the different game modes to you. It’s a quick intro, just talking to everyone in the hub area once. You can hold R1 to make the quest log show up (while you’re in the hub area). Select one of these and it will automatically teleport you to the target. Alternatively, just walk around the hub area in a circle and talk to everyone once. Along the way you automatically earn “Yo, I’m Goku!”. |
HazwanChai says
im stuck with the training battle tutorial which needs 7 dragon balls, i’ve no idea how to get the No 1…
PowerPyx says
Press Square repeatedly. Each Square auto-combo gives a dragon ball. Then get 7 special bars in bottom left corner and do another square-auto combo to summon shenron.
Otaku Heretic says
How do you clear “Go on a quest”? The very first quest is to (supposedly) “view info about the various modes and features of the lobby”. I’ve already talked to every clerk and selected “view explanation”… except for the World Match and Arena Match modes, since I cannot access them (don’t have PS Plus). Is it impossible to clear this quest without Plus?
PowerPyx says
Worked fine for me. However, I did not have the day-one patch installed and was playing offline.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s glitchy because you don’t have PS Plus. There has been weird stuff like that in other games.
Otaku Heretic says
Managed to get it. It’s a bit finicky, but doable.
Deluziion says
shittt.. I still suck very hard with combo’s :”)..
this is gonna be a pain round 9/10 on practice is kinda hard :/
Roto13 says
There are 24 characters (including unlockable ones) so there are 240 combo challenges. If you do up to level 8 with everyone and level 9 with 8 characters, you’ll get the trophy.
MisterX867 says
Hey have you actually confirmed yourself that ranked matches can be boosted? I can’t seem to get it to work in an empty lobby.
SaucyJack says
I’ve heard that after you reach 200,000 you apparently start losing BP when you lose. Any truth to this? It would make the “My Power Level” trophy significantly harder.
Danzo Sama says
I confirme that 🙁
Shahin says
You can rage quit any games you think you’ll lose that way you won’t lose any bp and can restart and continue from the points you had 🙂
Danzo Sama says
You’re wrong. First of all, when you climb the ranks you’ll starting lose BP if you lose the battles (except if your rank is much lower than your opponent).
BP gained (and lost) depend by both players’ rank.
Moreover it seems that’s impossible boost ranked matches….
So that’s NOT an easy platinum, rather…

Thanks for the info Danzo 🙂
CyberLance says
I get completely destroyed by most of the pro players i must face trying to get 530 000 points for this trophie so im starting to think im never going to get a 100% on this game.
This is just like the Mein Leben trophie on Wolfenstein 2 or even worse because now its real people you must defeat and not computer controlled enemies.
And i know its not cool to do so but to get this trophie you must quit the game if your losing so you wont lose your points.
PowerPyx says
Wait, disconnecting makes you keep your points?
Then that makes it a lot easier actually.
CyberLance says
No idea why my comment became like that.
I wanted to say that the Just Looking Trophy is not working for me.
I wait and wait and wait freaking forever and it never starts to onserve an arena match.
It it all really buggy right now or what am i doing wrong?
PowerPyx says
The connection in this game is really bad. I was just waiting for 15 minutes or so and it started to observe automatically.
Make sure you’re on a full server where lots of matches are happening. It can take a while. Just let it sit while you go eat something.
Trash says
I missed the trigger a special conversation sequence trophy even though I beat super arc.
Tooth says
Played 20 arena matches and the trophy didn’t pop. Possible glitch??? Can anybody help?
Giuseppe says
Same thing happened to me 🙁 Played 50 Matches and no trophy
AN_KiMbO says
You dont no shit about this game 4/10 really ??
EternalChaos72 says
So disconnecting just before you lose an online match won’t cause any penalties, and you can keep your points?
LoveAnimation says
Yea you dont lose your points if you quit the game before you die.
Pablo Gutierrez says
Observing marches is pretty much impossible. 2 consecutive days a non a single match seen…:(
PowerPyx says
I think it’s a server issue. It keeps disconnecting a lot.
Shahin says
Try the arena lobbies. Plenty of observations in there
Shahin says
Arena match trophies glitched? I played 10 games but still no trophy ?
Blimptaco says
The “Arena Aficionado” trophy is glitched. Played 21 arena matches and no trophy.
PowerPyx says
I’ve seen other reports of this. Will add it to the list of glitched trophies for the time being and keep and eye on it.
Your best bet is to play more matches. If you unlock it please leave an update how you did it so I can add it as a fix 🙂
If anybody else has this glitch out, please leave a comment to confirm.
Shahin says
UPDATE!! The Arena trophies are glitchy. For some people, they unlock as normal but for the glitchy ones like mine, I had to play 19 games for ‘Arena Expert’ and 36 games for ‘Arena Aficionado’. So keep playing and eventually they’ll unlock
JOHN says
Hi.
If you rage quit in ranked matches, won’t you get penalised? Because in games like Street fighter V you do. I just want to make sure. I suck in ranked matches they are the hardest for me, but i am usually an honourable player and have never raged quit. I’ll see how i go. If i am going badly i will have to.
Sizko says
If you rage quit to mutch your name will pop up as purple for people accepting your match , im not talking about the litle square . And most people will reject you most of the time , you need to be able to win a lot without DC or it will take 4ever to get 530k BP. Jump on practice mode and get better , no point to have 100% if you are super bad in the game , just my opinion..
Jake Bellamy says
Anyone want to boost the 530,000 BP? Message me, my psn is JaKe_BeLlAmY
