A Risky Wager is a contract in Mission 4 of Dishonored Death of the Outsider.
A Risky Wager Walkthrough
This contract is best performed before you proceed with the main mission. Directly across from your starting position, and the building that Cortney is in, there is a building with a tavern sign above the door and a large red banner on the second floor that reads Razina Rosewater Jelly. To the left of that building is an alley with a number of stairs leading upward to a dead end with a crate against the wall. Climb up on that crate, turn around putting your back to the wall, and use Foresight to fly up to a balcony above you to the right. It will be right at the limit of your vertical distance, so you will have to use the “Place Displace Marker” function to drop a marker on or above the railing to make it up there. Displace to the balcony and don’t move.
There will be tripwires everywhere, and for some reason displacing through them will trigger an explosion. If you approach them cautiously and put your cursor over the wire however, you will be given the opportunity to disarm them safely. Using a combination of Foresight to spot them and careful advancement, make your way through the room, disarming all the traps. Near the searchlight, will be an office area. Jump on the shorter card catalog cabinet in the corner, then jump to the top of the taller cabinet. From this vantage point, you can see a small area that is otherwise inaccessible from the floor below. Along all of its edges will be tripwires.
Turn around and jump to the chandelier above the office desk, and disarm the two tripwires that you can reach from where you are. Look across from you and you will see a series of trip wires above the arches above the hallway below, and some pipes that start on the left sice of the openings, running across the first arch before turning and running all the way down the hallway. This will be your path.
Displace to the left side of the piping, then disarm the two traps that block the opening next to you. Walk along the pipes down the hallway, disarming two more traps as you go. Move across the last archway towards the upper room, and disarm all six of the tripwires that block the nearby opening. Jump through, and disarm the last tripwire that stretches across the safe. Open the safe, grab the strange relic, and your contract is complete.
