Deus Ex Mankind Divided – Side Mission 10: The Harvester Walkthrough

August 25, 2016 by PowerPyx 1 Comment

The Harvester is Side Mission 10 in Deus Ex Mankind Divided. It’s part of a quest line leading up to another quest “The Last Harvest“.

You start this mission by investigating the point of interest “Too Close to Home” (pops up automatically later in the game during your second visit to Prague. It triggers after main mission 11 and 12). You must complete this quest before starting main mission 13 or else it will fail and become unavailable.

There are several ways to play and end this mission.

Method #1 (Recommended) – Unlock trophy “The Harvester” and unlock follow-up Quest “The Last Harvest”

After arriving at the Point of Interest talk to the guy at the crime scene who stands behind the yellow police tape. He says Radko could be the murderer. Detective Montag will suspect Johnny Gunn, the ex-husband of the victim. Before leaving you should thoroughly investigate the crime scene for all clues (stuff on the floor and on the victim’s corpse). Also talk to Daria, the woman at the crime scene and then exhaust the dialogue options with detective Montag – this should give you another optional objective. That’s all there is to do at the crime scene.

Now go talk to both Radko and Gunn and investigate their apartments – they will be marked as side mission objectives. You must find compelling evidence to exonerate them if you want to find the true murderer in the follow-up quest.

Radko Perry:

On Radko’s computer (in his basement) there’s a text chat in which you learn he spent the night with augmented prostitutes. They are trying to blackmail him. Just play dumb and the girl in the chat will tell you she has tapes of the act. This means Radko wasn’t around when the murder happened.

Optional Objective “Examine Smolinski’s Notes”:

After investigating Perry head to the optional objective. You should have received the optional objective by talking to detective Montag at the crime scene and exhausting all dialogue options. Make sure you head to the objective now. It leads to a police station and in the basement you’ll find a case file about the Harvester murders. The code to the door is 0010. This is gonna be important for the follow-up quest “The Last Harvest“.

Johnny Gunn:

In Gunn’s apartment you find a medical form near his bed (in the room where he is sitting) and learn that he couldn’t possible have left the fingerprints found on the victim because he has augmented hands (which do not come with fingerprints as they are machine parts). After getting the evidence return to Montag and tell him they are both innocent. You now receive the bronze trophy “The Harvester” and will be able to play the follow-up quest “The Last Harvest” later in main mission 14.

Method #2 (Not Recommended) – Quick Way, will fail follow-up quest and no trophy unlock

You could stick to the bare minimum and ignore the clues at the scene, not even talk to the guy behind the yellow police tape and just investigate Johnny Gunn. When heading back to detective Montag you could either accuse Gunn or claim he’s innocent. While this will show the quest as complete, it will make you miss the follow-up quest and you’ll never find the true murderer. But if you don’t care about that and just want some quick XP, then why not.
