Deus Ex Mankind Divided – Side Mission 02: Cult of Personality Walkthrough

Cult of Persoanlity is Side Mission 02 in Deus Ex Mankind Divided. It also unlocks a hidden bronze trophy with the same name.

This quest is availabe during your first and second visit to Prague (meaning between main mission 02 – 13). In an ally near Adam’s apartment complex there’s a manhole that leads to the sewers (you can see a ladder symbol when you zoom in on the map). Down in the sewers is a man you must talk to, he will give you the side mission. Here are screenshots of the starting location and the guy you need to talk to:

Now normally the fastest way to finish the mission is go upstairs, hack the door panel (security level 5 – or use multi-tool to unlock it instantly), take out Richard and turn off the power in his room. But the trophy requries a more complicated, alternate way. After talking to Richard (the guy brainwashing the people in sewers), go around the room and look for a crumbled poster (right corner of room). Pick it up and you will unlock a new waypoint that leads to a magic shop on the other end of the map. Talk to the guy in the shop and head back to Richard in the sewers and install the 3 signal scramblers. The scramblers must be installed in the small “lamps” on the upper floor. All 3 are being watched by turrets. This is what the “lamps” look like (where you must install scramblers):

Now all that’s left is go downstairs to the microphone and talk to Richard. Select the dialogue options: Pity > Mitigate. This will finish the quest and earn you the trophy for it.
