Demon’s Souls PS5 Remake Spells & Miracles Locations

November 11, 2020 by DK 28 Comments

This guide shows where to find the locations of all Spells and Miracles in Demon’s Souls PS5 Remake. Getting all Spells and Miracles unlocks the trophies Sage’s Trophy and Saint’s Trophy. You will need to rescue 3 NPCs in order to buy them all, but you will need multiple playthroughs since some spells use the same Boss Soul to be purchased and you can only get them once in each playthrough.

Do note that many of these are missable in some way but everything carries over into New Game+. You need multiple playthroughs for all of them anyway (because you need the boss souls multiple times) so you will have plenty of chances to go for your missing ones. Make sure you keep all your boss souls for the Spells and Miracles!

Rescuing NPCs:

  • Rescue Saint Urbain – In the second area of the Shrine of Storms head to the bottom of the area with the first Grim Reaper looking enemy and head behind the staircase. There Patches will kick you down a pit where you can rescue Saint Urbain. Saint Urbain is needed in order to learn all the Miracles in the game.
  • Rescue Sage Freke the Visionary – You will find him in the Prison of Hope, in one of the cells. In the area just before the Fool’s Idol on the wall behind the praying enemy you have to kill to make the Idol vulnerable will be the Special Key. With the Key head back to Sage Freke to save him from his cell. He will appear in the Nexus afterward.
  • Rescue Yuria the Witch – Once you have unlocked the third area of the Boletarian Palace head through the level and kill the first and second Fat Official (the weirdly laughing enemies). This will grant you the Iron Ring of Keys and an Official’s Cap With that head back to the area just before the Tower Knight fight and open a door there. Inside the area you will find a cell where you can rescue Biorr. Additionally, there will be a third Fat Official which will drop the Bloody Key. Additionally you will have to kill the fat officials in the Stonefang Mines as well for the remaining parts of Official Set (Gauntlets, Armor, Footwear) since it was changed from the PS3 version. With the key head back to area before the Tower Knight again and open the gate there. Follow the path into a tower with a fat official above you. Equip the Official’s Set (All parts needed) you got earlier and he will lower the stairs for you. Defeat the Official, take off your gear and talk to Yuria afterward to rescue her and have her appear in the Nexus. Yuria is needed in order to obtain all the Spells.

Following Boss Souls are needed for both trophies:

  • Storm Demon’s Soul (Storm King) – needed ONCE
  • Yellow Demon’s Soul (Old Monk) – needed THREE TIMES
  • Wriggling Demon’s Soul (Leechmonger) – needed TWICE
  • Dragon Demon’s Soul (Dragon God) – needed THREE TIMES
  • Swollen Demon’s Soul (Adjudicator) – needed ONCE
  • Pureblood Demon’s Soul (Maiden Astraea) – needed THREE TIMES
  • Hero Demon’s Soul (Old Hero) – needed ONCE
  • Eroded Demon’s Soul (Dirty Colossus) – needed ONCE
  • Hard Demon’s Soul (Armor Spider) – needed TWICE
  • Silver Demon’s Soul (Penetrator) – needed TWICE
  • Doll Demon’s Soul (Fool’s Idol) – needed ONCE
  • Iron Demon’s Soul (Tower Knight) – needed ONCE

Primeval Demons:

You will need a total of 3 Colorless Demon’s Souls which are dropped by Primeval Demons who only spawn in Pure Black World Tendency. There is one of them in each Archstone:

  • From where you found the Official’s Cap in third area of Boletarian Palace go up the right set of stairs to find it
  • In the first area of the Stonefang Mines go into the area underneath the falling boulders. Use the crank and take the lift down from the balcony to find it.
  • In the swamp in the second area of Tower of Latria guarded by a huge human centipede enemy.
  • In the second area of the Shrine of Storm drop down to the left of where the first Reaper is. There is a passage on the left, head there and there will be an illusory wall there. Go through it, kill the strong Dual Katana Skeleton and follow the path to find it.
  • In the second area of the Valley of Defilement in the swamp, near the slug nest.

I’ve read in multiple places you need more than just the Official’s Cap to fool the Official. Sources say you need an entire outfit which is only found from those laughing fat guys as drops. Can anyone confirm?

That is correct. You need the whole Official’s Outfit

Yes, the remake requires you to have the entire set equipped for him to drop down the staircase. You need the hat, gloves, outfit, and leggings, not his weapon.

    Hello !

I’m trying to buy Demon’s Prank spell but it wasn’t available on my first playthrough so I’ve tried again in NG+ but same thing, Sage Freke is not listing the spell. I never bought it and I still have all the souls + 3 coloursless demon soul. My game is glitched or something?

AFAIK it’s been renamed to Familiar’s Prank in this remake, not sure why, but do you have that spell?

i think u only need one for the miracle, cant find any other use on the wiki for it, I think there might be some confusion with the familiars prank spell that used to need it in the OG game

I’ve rescued all the NPCs and bought all their spells but I’m missing one to complete the Sage’s Trophy. Is it glitched or am I missing something?

Did you get the one for 3 Colourless demon’s souls? It only becomes available to buy after you have killed a Prime evil Demon in a Black world tendency.

I heard that you can get both trophies by reloading save files, but my Playstation 5 always uploads new save files into the cloud as soon as I turn of the game. How can I turn this off to get the miracles first, reload the save file and get the spells next?

You can turn that off in the settings. Go to save settings, cloud storage and uncheck demons souls. Or, save to an external drive but since its just save data it doesn’t take much room

Turn off automatic cloud uploads. Then manually upload your save before turning in your souls for all miracles. Reload save from cloud manually, then turn in all souls for all spells.

Does anyone know if trophy progress for spells and miracles carries over from save file to file? Like if I get some of the spells on one character and make a new character and get the rest of the spells on that character, will i still get the trophy?

I just want to add that you can get Colorless demon souls in other ways too. You can get two by trading items with Sparkly, and also two with the Mephistopheles quest, plus one in Pure Tendency Boletaria.

Seeing as you only need to get one world to Pure Black Tendency for another item (Latria for the Sodden ring) if you play online, it might be a worthwhile idea to kill that Primeval Demon and get the other two Colorless Demon souls by other methods.

I have the same issue. I’ve killed an arch demon and have 3 colorless demon souls. Maybe character tendancy needs to be white?

Can anyone explain what’s the deal with the Maiden in black demon soul? It says it is required for the Soulsucker miracle, but it also say “don’t kill her at the end of the game”, so when should I kill her? How do I get the miracle then?

You don’t kill her AT ALL. You will be given the soul at the end of the game if you spare her.

I reloaded a save file to buy all spells from Save Freke for my final two spells, but it didn’t update? Do I have to go through another play through?
