Dead Island 2 Missing: Shane Walkthrough

Missing: Shane is a Lost and Found Quest in Dead Island 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Missing: Shane Lost and Found mission.

Starting Location: Ocean Avenue
Counts Towards Quest Completion in Region: Ocean Avenue
Requirement: Advance the story in Ocean Avenue area, then the missing person letters get marked on the map by a red icon. Complete some of those missions and come back for new ones to spawn.
Reward: 2000 XP
Mission Info: Shane was reported missing. Venice’s lifeguards got around their phone issues by using handwritten notes, but they were not all on the same page. Many of his colleagues were killed by zombies, but Shane had the sense and know-how to sail out of Hell-A before it was too late.

Objectives:

• Where in Hell-A is Shane?
• Rummage through Shane’s hut for any clues
• Follow Shane to Lifeguard Hut 18
• Clear out the zombies around Hut 18 in case Shane’s still alive
• Nell dropped a note, is it from Shane?
• Pick up Shane’s trail at the Lifeguard HQ
• Search around the Lifeguard HQ for Shane the lifeguard
• Check TJ’s note for any member of Shane

Starting Location: Missing: Shane

Shane’s Missing Person quest starts in Ocean Avenue. Pick up the letters from the wall near the fast travel map. These get marked by a red icon after advancing the story far enough. After doing the first few quests return here again to get new quests, one of them will be Shane.

Where in Hell-A is Shane?

Fast travel to Venice Beach and make sure you are tracking the quest from the menu. Then the objective will update with a red marker in the south of Venice Beach.

Rummage through Shane’s hut for any clues

Head to the quest marker and you will arrive at a Lifeguard Hut on the beach. Go inside and pick up Journal: Offer of a Lifetime.

Follow Shane to Lifeguard Hut 18

Now head a little bit north to find another Lifeguard Hut on the beach.

Clear out the zombies around Hut 18 in case Shane’s still alive

Defeat all zombies around the Lifeguard Hut.

Nell dropped a note, is it from Shane?

One of the zombies will have dropped Journal: For Whom the Nell Tolls. Pick it up (it will get a red objective marker after defeating all zombies).

Pick up Shane’s trail at the Lifeguard HQ

Fast travel to The Pier. Exit the building where you spawn.

Search around the Lifeguard HQ for Shane the lifeguard

At the south exit of the Lifeguard HQ is a Fire Crusher called TJ The Lifeguard. Defeat him, loot the journal he drops.

Check TJ’s note for any member of Shane

Picking up the journal from TJ the Lifeguard concludes this missing person case.
