Days Gone has 12 Infestations and 18 Crier Nests for the Infestation Exterminator Questline. This guide shows all Infestation Nest Locations. Your goal in each Infestation Zone is to burn out the nests there.
Clearing out all Infestations unlocks the Infestation Exterminator trophy. There are also gameplay benefits, it unlocks new fast travel routes.
To burn the nests you can either throw a fuel canister and shoot it or throw a Molotov. The very best choice is to use Incendiary Bolts. You get 3 of them per Kerosene instead of only 1 Molotov. You unlock Incendiary Bolts by conquering 8 Ambush Camps. It’s easier to burn out the nests at day because fewer Freakers will be roaming around.
The guide below contains two screenshots per infestation. The first one is zoomed out to show you the general location. The second one is zoomed in, showing you where exactly the nests are (red dots). When you get close to a nest, your character will smell it and it automatically gets marked on the map. You can also seem them from far away because they got black infected mass around them. As soon as you burn the nest some Freakers will come running out but it’s not mandatory to kill them, just burning the nests is enough.
None of these are missable! After the story there’s free-roam and you can go back to all regions and finish up any side activities and collectibles you have left. It’s worth noting that there are two temporary points of no return. One at the end of 3rd region “Lost Lake” and one more at the end of 5th region “Crater Lake”. This will lock you out of some regions until the end of the story. Then after the story the whole map opens up again.

The last infestation consists of Crier Nests found at 18 different locations. If you have all other Infestations you’ll be at 92% progress. The Crier Nests add the last remaining 8% to the Infestation Exterminator Questline. Use Incendiary Bolts to burn them. Crafting these gives you 3 bolts per Kerosene instead of only 1 Molotov. The Nests are all on trees and power poles. You must burn all the nests on the tree (some have up to 5 nests in the same tree and they must all be burned). When done correctly it will say “Nest Destroyed” and the marker disappears from the map.

Definitely glitched for me, at 92 percent but I got the trophy, south Oregon crier nests is ticked and I count 12 ticked, so wtf has happened there, annoying as I don’t get the bike skin ffs
bloody bullshit l shoot the damned nests in the trees at the college an they don’t bloody burn at all when lm with deacons wife using the flame arrows at all to get to the power shed to cut the power …..cant kill the nests at all so boozer an the ppl at lost lake can get at the food so how the hell am l meant to turn of the power to the fences massive frigging glitch l died 10 bloody times
