There is a Light That Never Goes Out is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the There is a Light That Never Goes Out Side Quest.
Area: Santo Domingo (Arroyo)
Quest Giver: Joshua
Requirement: Complete Side Job “Sinnerman” and agree to go with Joshua
Reward: €$ (If you accept Rachel’s offer to leave, but then the next quest doesn’t start)
Mission Info: I love these WTF situations. A guy hires you to off some other guy, and then that first guy dies, but then the second guy hires you to go somewhere with him for who the fuck knows what. But hey, it’s not like you’re short on work. Just don’t fuck this one up, OK? I know you wanna know how this all plays out.
Objectives:
- Talk to Joshua Stephenson
- Follow Joshua Stephenson
- Follow Zuleika
- Talk to Zuleika
- Get in the NCPD vehicle
- Sit down at the table in PieZ
This job is part of a questline, make sure you don’t fail any of these as it would void the next quest: Sinnerman > There is a Light That Never Goes Out > They Won’t Go When I Go.
Talk to Joshua Stephenson
IMPORTANT: This quest section has dialogue options (which lead into the part of the job chain after this) that determine the success of a braindance you help perform in the next quest step. Depending on the options you choose they increase a background counter, and if the background counter increases to 4 before performing the braindance it will be considered a failure. Depending on how you want to play this job out you might want to do this, but dialogue responses that don’t increase the tally will be labeled “GOOD”, and ones that do increase the tally will be labeled “BAD” for the purposes of this walkthrough. There are 4 specific “BAD” options during this job.
During this first section riding in the car, your choices responding to Joshua don’t matter as long as you don’t select the “Drop me off at the next corner” option during the third section of dialogue, where you just get out and the job ends.
Follow Joshua Stephenson
You will now be stopped at a house and should follow Joshua up to the front door.
Follow Zuleika
Follow Zuleika into the house with Joshua, then sit at the table.
Talk to Zuleika
At the table is where the first two dialogue options will occur that matter.
If you are responding in mostly friendly ways you can potentially not run into the first option:
- “Yeeeep, still not buyin’ it.” > BAD
The second option occurs with the other two below after they explain Joshua’s plan for the braindance:
- “Whoa. Insane, that’s what this is.” > BAD
- “Why the braindance? What do you hope to achieve?” > GOOD
- “Law’s got nothing to say about this?” > GOOD
Zuelaika’s mother comes in after. When you have the two [Stand] options, don’t select the bottom one, or that will end the job.
Get in the NCPD vehicle
Go back outside and get in the NCPD vehicle again. Once Joshua comes in you will have three more dialogue options, with another one of them being a “BAD” option.
- “Who can blame her?” > GOOD
- “Gloria should have forgiven you.” > GOOD
- 10 COOL: “Where we gonna eat?” > BAD
When you reach the restaurant, Rachel stops you to have a chat.
The first two responses don’t matter, but the third one she is attempting to bribe you to leave right now. If you accept the bribe you’ll get some money right now, but then the job chain will end right here. If you have a CORPO background you can ask her for more, but again this still ends the job right here.
Sit down at the table in PieZ
Go inside the restaurant and sit down at the table opposite Joshua.
Here is where the final choice that matters for this job is. The first response where you talk to either Rachel or Joshua doesn’t matter, but the second one does:
- “Can we please stop talking about faith?” > BAD
- “What’s your part in all this?” > GOOD
After that the rest of the responses don’t matter, then the group will leave and this side job will end. Rachel will call you after at least 12 in-game hours have passed to start the side job “They Won’t Go When I Go”.
This finishes There is a Light That Never Goes Out side quest job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77).

Sean says
I’m confused, if I’m to follow this exactly which is it “GOOD” or “BAD”?.
What’s the best outcome? (morality or not). What path makes Johnny like you more (become better “friends” even if it’s just dialogue), if there is?.
