Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77) has 7 Romances. There are 5 women and 2 men you can romance. This will start a relationship with them and can lead to a sex scene if you make all the right choices.
There are the following 7 Romances in Cyberpunk 2077:
- Alt Cunningham (Gender doesn’t matter, Automatic in a Johnny Silverhand Main Quest)
- Meredith Stout (Bisexual)
- Panam Palmer (Heterosexual, requires Male Character)
- Kerry Eurodyne (Gay, requires Male Character)
- Judy Alvarez (Lesbian, requires Female Character)
- River Ward (Heterosexual, requires Female Character)
- Rogue (Gender doesn’t matter, part of a Johnny Silverhand Side Quest)
- Bonus: Joytoys / Prostitutes (Bisexual)
These are highly missable, though not needed for any trophies or achievements. Your gender plays an important role, 2 people can only be romanced as a male and 2 when playing a female. For the other 3 your gender doesn’t matter. It is not possible to romance all in one playthrough. Alt Cunningham will be romanced automatically during a Main Mission.
With the exception of Alt Cunningham (automatic from story), everyone else can only be romanced during their Side Quests. Always pick the dialogues in support of the person you want to romance, defend them in dialogues against other people, always agree they are right, do anything they ask of you, don’t tell them you are doing their jobs for the money, always pick the flirty dialogue or physical “touch her / him” choices. Basically just be nice and supportive and do all their Jobs.
Alt Cunningham
Required Gender: Doesn’t matter.
Guide:
- Alt Cunningham is automatically romanced during Main Quest “Never Fade Away”. There is no way to miss this. It’s a Flashback to an old Memory. No choices leading up to this, her Sex Scene is unmissable, you can’t mess this up. So don’t even worry about this one.
Meredith Stout
Required Gender: Meredith Stout is female. She is bisexual and can be romanced with any gender (likes Males and Females). Even though she’s a corpo, you can romance her on any other lifepath as well.

Required Gender: Panam is female. She can only be romanced when playing as a Male character (Heterosexual relationship).

Required Gender: Doesn’t matter, they serve every gender (Bisexual).

- Technically not a “Romance” but each of them will result in a sex scene. On the map when you zoom in, press
to filter for Service Points. They will have a white kissing lips icon

So they just decided to retcon Kerry’s sexuality? he was straight in the original game. Why not just make him bisexual? plus, a lot of gay people are upset since he fits the stereotypical gay love interest appearance-wise, that you see in videogames, whereas River (the preferred option) doesn’t.
I’ve actually seen more women want Kerry and gay men want River than the other way around.
It’s kinda weird that a game like Cyberpunk is feeding into stereotypes.
They literally should have done it the other way around honestly, or just not overcomplicate things and make everyone bisexual/ready to smash V no matter what. River was very popular with gay men, and Kerry is the guy most girls would go for.

They’ve ‘tried’ to be inclusive, but the options are still overwhelmingly binary and stereotypical.
How does River doesn’t fit the “stereotypical gay” appearence? He’s literally bara. And yes, it was a retcon, and no, it’s not a bad thing, millions of things have been retconned.
River is a shitty character part of a shitty side quest, he has zero involvement in the main story. I’m tired of gay romances always being irrelevant to the plot while lesbians get romances like Liara in Mass Efefct.
So no. River shouldn’t have been the gay romance. Who are those gays upsted by Kerry’s appearance? Because it’s not me.

I thought it was cool how the characters follow in a straight line, making their choice clear, this gives them a lot more life, whether they are gay or not.

I mean, I, on first sight was like “Boom Judy is the one for me” and so she was! I avoided reading or seeing anything about this game before I could play it too so i had no idea if she was even an option or for what version of V.
I thought River was a pretty good character. A hard bitten cop learning to reconnect with family life. I thought Kerry was interesting too, beneath all his posturing. I didn’t need my V to be able to date them to enjoy their company.

These romances are a mess. Completely underwhelming. CDPR missed the mark on this one big time. Completely overlooked gay men and straight women with blatantly favoritism to straight men who get 4 women when far superior dialogue to choose from.
Truly, Im really bummed out about this, Straight Male Players get like 3 options (because the Judy route also seems like eyecandy for them) on top of the Johnny route, and CDPR said before the romances would be equal, I feel really deceived by this.

Is this a joke? There are just 4 romance options. Cunningham and Rogue are not actual romaces, and Meredith is a one night stand. Gay men and straight women have prostitutes not mentioned in the article.

Where is the lie? The main romances are Judy, Panam, Kerry and River. 1 for each sexuality.
Meredith is not a romance, Cunningham and Rogue are part of Keanu flashbacks. And there are both male and female prostitutes.
They literally shoved as much equality as they could forcing all of us to get just 1 romance option and you say there isn’t an equal amount? Oh, where is the inequality? Because straight men have JUST Panam.

What defines gender? Voice or Genital?
Voice is the pronoun choice, masculine he/him feminine she/her. The body type is also needed for gay romances. Genitals don’t matter as you can completly opt out of them(choosing to only ever see underwear) so it makes no sense that they would matter.
It’s a game, people! Whether you’re gay/straight, or bi in real life, the “relationship” in the video game is not real. I don’t know how anyone can get worked up over a “relationship” that develops over a couple hours of choosing the best dialogue option and completing all the NPC’s jobs, anyways.
Will we ever allow anyone to be proud of a video game they’ve developed anymore?

Okay person who has a god complex, chill. No one is complaining about how the romance opt is what they want or not from what I see. People are upset about the number for each type simply being unbalanced and that’s a fact. And do people who PAID for the game with their own money have a right to at least complain? YES they do. To be fair, it is mostly just a bit more sex scenes. The romance options are 2 straight and 1 lesbian/1 gay. So it is same for both allowed genders.
Saddened by the strict gender choices in a cyberpunk universe. I mean were talking about a group of people who grew up with the ability to experience sex and sexuality from all points of view via braindances. You would think it would be more about their interest in the person themselves instead of the sum of their parts
The majority of the players of this game will be straight men. Followed closely by straight women. LGBTQI people are only a small percentage of society, even if you pretend otherwise. Gotta just deal with it.

They should’ve made Judy available for men as that’s what we’re all thinking rather than just Panam as a love interest because the other woman is like a cougar.

Very helpful guides. I like the quests and romances, different outcomes linked within the game. For me it’s the best part of the game along with the numerous quests. I like the Panam and Judy romance lines. I do hope however in the future that they expand upon the romances, develop them more and introduce more romancable characters within the game. I’d have liked to have been able to romance the likes of Claire, Evelyn or Lizzie too. The romance quests and storylines are interesting and could be further developed and remind me of the likes of Greedfall and Vampyr too in a way. Really appreciate the work you put into your walkthroughs and guides.

I would have liked to be able to romance Denny and Hanako Arasaka or any other character of similar ethnicities and such curvier body type.
Or at least have more joytoy options, including of similar ethnicities and such curvier body type as Denny and Hanako Arasaka. For Denny and Hanako Arasaka there isn’t any curvier female nor is there any black african type.
I like the japantown female joytoy nut I really dislike the more expensive female joytoy appearance, clothing and hairstyle, I wish there is a mod to swap her model for Denny or Hanako Arasaka.
I like that as a player we are given the choice of our sex and gender, and let our conversations and actions choices fluidly lead to our sexuality to be asexual, bisexual, heterosexual or homosexual.
personally i think the gender requirements just shouldnt exist at all but whatever people arent ready for that yet
