Cyberpunk 2077 Meredith Stout Romance Guide

December 9, 2020 by PowerPyx 33 Comments

This guide shows how to romance Meredith Stout in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). Meredith is a female Corpo Agent you can meet during ‘The Pickup’ Story Mission. She’s an optional objective in that quest. If you do that optional objective and defeat the Maelstrom Gang in ‘The Pickup’ Main Mission, she will send you a phone message later. Then she will want to meet up at a Motel for a sex scene. The Meredith Romance available for both Male and Female characters (she is bisexual)! Your lifepath does not matter (you don’t have to play Corpo).

For all other Romances see the complete Cyberpunk 2077 Romance Guide (All Romances).

Meredith is Bisexual and can be romanced as either Male or Female character. Your lifepath doesn’t matter.

Below are all missions and dialogues in chronological order that lead to the Meredith Stout Romance. To get her romance, Stout must prevail over Gilchrist at the end of the “The Pickup” mission. There are different ways to do this, this is just the easiest method:

Main Job – The Pickup:

  • During “The Pickup” Main Quest (6th Main Quest, very early in the story) there will be an optional objective to go talk to the Corpo Agent Meredith Stout. Do not attack her or her bodyguards. Talk to her to complete the optional objective. It’s best that you don’t pick the money chip she offers you. Select the following Meredith Dialogues: “[Shake Hand] Correct” > “I just wanna talk” > “Yep. All by my lonesome.” > “Don’t Know Him” > “You want info. I want a bot. Let’s make a deal.” > “No way. Not happenin”.
  • Your next objective in “The Pickup” is to go to the Maelstrom Gang at the Food Processing Plant. Just ask for a discount and then take down Royce during the dialogue. Pick the following dialogues with the Maelstroms: “Sit” > “[Calm Jackie] Jackie, sit down.” > “I’ll pass” > “Show it to me” > “We’ll take it” > “Really expect me to pay twice?” > “Prepared to offer us a discount?” > “Take Down Royce” > “Shoot Royce”. After escaping the hideout, Meredith MUST show up in a car and you get must get the objective “Talk to Meredith Stout”, that’s how you know you did everything correctly. In this ending she will prevail over Gilchrist (which is the necessary outcome for this romance). If Gilchrist shows up at the end or if neither of them shows up you won’t get her Romance later. Below is an image of her showing up at the end of the mission which is what it should be like.
  • Some time after “The Pickup”, you will get a phone message from Meredith Stout with a reply option (hold  to open phone, click on Open Messages and scroll over hers). It varies from player to player how long it takes to get this message, just continue with main jobs and you should get it by the time you reach the end of the story (random when exactly). Reply to her “Same, Was starting to like you” and she’ll write back that she wants to hook up at the No-Tell Motel, 1st floor. Reply “I’ll be there”. This will also trigger the quest “Venus in Furs” which you can track from the Journal Menu to see the location. Go there.

  • There’s only one option here “So What Now?” –> she will grab you and trigger the sex scene

Alternatively, it will also work out fine if:

  • You accepted the infected Credit Chip from Stout during the Optional Objective.
    • Shot Royce during the dialogue with him
    • Used the chip to pay Royce, then a fight breaks out and you must defeat him at the end of the mission.

In this outcome Stout still prevails over Gilchrist and she will message you later.

The only ways you can mess this up is if Gilchrist prevails over Stout:

  • Bought the Flathead Militech with your own money (peaceful outcome)
  • Took Stout’s credit chip but cracked it and use the cracked chip to pay Royce (only possible as Corpo)
  • Told Royce that the Credit Chip is infected
  • Upon arrival at the Food Plant you attacked the Maelstrom gang in the main hall, started a fight here before meeting Royce

In those cases you wouldn’t be able to romance Stout later.

This concludes the Meredith Romance Guide. She will still send you one more text message after your night together and that’s the end of that.

For all other Romances see the complete Cyberpunk 2077 Romance Guide (All Romances).

It wasn’t immediate for me. It just showed up at some point later in the story in my messages.

How long does it actually take in game days? I’m tired of “in some days” or “later on.” At least be more accurate please bc I don’t know when.

There is no specific time frame. The game is random like that. Sometimes people text / call you after skipping time 24h, for other players it takes 5h+ of additional gameplay (real time).
Just keep playing the story and it will randomly happen. By the end of the story you should have received Meredith’s message.

If you “take down” Royce with physical 6, Gilchrist is victorious as well.

Have you tried shooting Royce’s head off in the cutscene instead of taking him down? Is the outcome still the same? THX 🙂

romance in this game is so weak compared to witcher 3! should be more than one sex scene betwen MC and Meredith! and off course, 2-3 secondary mission with her! to deepen the relationship between them, which is very weak!

No, intead of her that was Gilchrist. But I did this mission again, I shoot Royce, not taked him down. And I did’t hacked chip – even I didn’t used it and now it work. Propably we can’t hack this chip even we want to fight.

Will I get a message from her? In all the dialogue options I selected the “corp” option, then I hacked the chip, and then immediately after entering the base I shot and destroyed the turrets making everybody hostile. After leaving the base I was greeted by Meredith who complained about how I completed the mission and something about making me obey next time or smt. Does this mean she will contact me?

Got the chip, cleared it, took the Cybermod and kept the money. Went for the job, shot Royce during the short dialog window and cleared all Maelstrom out.

So in theory it should work, but she has not called yet?! Did I do something wrong?

She sends a text message (she doesn’t actually call you). It will take a while for her to contact you, not immediately. You should be fine, it just takes a while.

Got messaged after about a dozen side missions and one or two mains.

I think I bought the robot for 10k eddies but still killed all of the Maelstrom anyway. I am at Pacifica missions now with Voodoo boys and have done plenty side jobs/gigs/NCPD and I have not received the message yet.

    Did I make a mistake?

Actually what happened is I cracked the millitech chip, but shot royce in the conversation. I got the conversation with Meredith at the end of the mission.

I am 20 hours past the Pickup mission and just finished voodoo boys mission. No text message yet, what is happening here?

Yes I believe you messed up.

What I do and always, always works (restarted quite a bit too to figure this out)

Don’t go against her (“lemme go!”/Lie) in dialogue, doesn’t matter the life path. (Using the Corpo or Nomad dialogues are safe)
Accept the chip and **hold onto it** the entire mission (unless you choose to experience other outcomes)
During the Royce meeting, shoot him, don’t take him down. Proceed however you wish afterwards.
She’ll be waiting and ask to work again sometime.

**now crack the chip, be 10K eddies richer and have a fancy lethal Daemon to use as a Net Runner if you can pull off both sequences in the Breach.**

Takes quite a few main missions OR side activities and/or gigs (I believe it’s actually tied to your level and/or street cred because of this) for her to message you to meet up.
I’ve experienced her message me a few story missions in, as well as after a while just exploring the city and leveling up doing both open world activities and gigs.

    Female V

    1. Meet Meredith
    2. Accept Chip
    3. V cracked the Militech chip
    4. Gave cracked Militech chip to Royce
    5. Killed Royce (during the dialogue before he got the chance to use the cracked Militech chip)
    6. Meredith Showed up outside Maelstrom
    7. Meredith Messaged V after she completed Double Life quest line.

Should of kept the chip until after the mission… crack it only after the mission and conversation with Dex. It’s the only way I’ve found you keep the 10K eddies, you can actually see the transfer into your account, and can confirm if you know how much you have before you crack it. If you crack it any time before that call, you don’t get the money; only possibility at that point is keeping the Daemon infecting the chip and the other outcome of this mission of paying Royce and having to fight with Maelstrom against the Millitech Corpos. Other than that, you’ll just be holding onto a useless chip and a lethal daemon. Yes, you can have both the money and the daemon if you just wait until after the mission and call with Dex. I go for that route every time, it’s the easiest 10K jump start to any life path and build in the game I’ve come across with my play time.

I played as Male Nomad, I took the chip, don’t use it with Royce, shoot Royce, Don’t cracked it until I finished the mission and meet Meredith at the end…
The message arrived about a week after the Konpeki Plaza mission, I answered “I want to see the Tatoo”(I have the Spanish version), and she invited me to the No-Tell Motel and she pegged me… I have a question, can I invite her again?
