Cyberpunk 2077 Mantis Blades Location

This guide shows where to find the Mantis Blades location in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). The Mantis Blades are a type of Cyberware that can be used as a melee weapon. It uses two sharp blades that come out of your arms and can dismember enemies. You can find Mantis Blades early on in a specific location or buy them later at Ripperdocs after reaching Street Cred 20.

Mantis Blades Location #1 – Open World

Step 1 (Find Mantis Blades): The first and best option is to find Legendary Mantis Blades in the open world. They can be found at the Side Gig “Cyberpsycho Sighting: Phantom of Night City“.

You gain access to this after Main Story Mission Playing for Time. So you need to play a bit of story first. Then the quest marker will show up. See the location below:

Before you go there, be sure to create a Manual Save Game. The reason is that the Mantis Blades don’t have a 100% spawn chance here (but it’s a very high chance, about 50%). If you get a dfferent item you can reload the Manual Save and return. Repeat until they spawn.

Enter the room with the Cyberpsycho boss and look for a chest on the right side with a yellow quest marker on it. That’s the chest that can contain Legendary Mantis blades. See the images below.

Step 2 (Install Mantis Blades at Ripperdoc): After you got the Mantis Blades, you still need to equip them at a Ripperdoc under the Cyberware > Arms section.

Step 3 (Equip Mantis Blades in Item Wheel): Then you can equip them from the weapon wheel (hold / to open and select the Mantis Blades in the bottom left)

Mantis Blades Location #2 – Bought from Ripperdocs (requires Street Cred 20)

An easy alternative is to wait until you have reached Street Cred 20, then they become available at Ripperdocs. You can see your Street Cred Level at any time in the menu / map screen (green level in top left corner). You increase Street Cred by doing Side Activities (NCPD Scanner Hustles, Gigs, Side Jobs).

Most Ripperdocs across Night City will sell them. For example, this one in Watson:

Do note that Ripperdocs usually sell Rare grade (blue) only. The one you can find in the open world is Legendary grade (orange) which is the best. Thye automatically level up with you. Cyberware is scaled to your own level so no need to upgrade them.
