Cyberpunk 2077 Family Heirloom Gig Walkthrough

December 16, 2020 by PowerPyx 18 Comments

Family Heirloom is a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Family Heirloom Gig (Side Quest).

Area: Westbrook (Charter Hill)
Quest Giver: Rogue (Fixer)
Requirement: Must be Street Cred Level 35+ and finish Main Job “Ghost Town”.
Reward: €$6950 Money, 565 XP, 1270 Street Cred
Mission Info: Gig type: Search and Recover

Objective: Rare, bootleg Samurai recording
Location: Parking lot on Crockett St.
Details: There’s this old saying – if it wasn’t for fools, there would be no sages. The same is true for fixers. The fool who needs your help is a man named Dan. Dan has a gambling problem – lately he managed to lose his car in a game of cards. To tell the truth, the ride’s no great loss or anything – this guy isn’t short on cars. What was valuable, however, was the one-of-a-kind bootleg Samurai recording stowed in the trunk. How did our fool come into possession of it, you ask? Well, he’s Nancy’s son. The same Nancy who played keyboard for the band, in the days when that snot-nosed boy used to call me “aunty”. You’ll get that album for me. Gut tells me they haven’t pawned it off just yet. It’s probably still stashed somewhere around the place. And if you can swing it, grab Dan’s car too for a little bonus. I’ll snap you the coordinates of the guy holding the goods. And be aware, he licks the boots of the 6th Street Gang, so expect to deal with another fool. A stubborn one.

Objectives:

  • Go to the parking lot
  • Find the bootleg recording of Samurai
  • Retrieve the bootleg recording of Samurai
  • Retrieve Dan’s car (Optional)
  • Leave the parking lot
  • Deliver the car to Dan (Optional) / Deliver the recording to Dan
    • Exit the Car
  • Leave the area
  • Collect your reward from Drop Point

Starting Location: Family Heirloom

Gig: Family Heirloom starts in Westbrook (Charter Hill).

Go to the parking lot

Where the quest marker is, walk down the path from the north-east side of the building to reach the underground parking garage.

Find the bootleg recording of Samurai

Inside the garage you will find some enemies. Take them out. Then go through the door at the end of the garage to reach the room with the bootleg recording in a cabinet.

Retrieve the bootleg recording of Samurai

The cabinet with the bootleg recording will have an objective marker on it and is easy to find. Loot the recording and also everything else in the locker (Johnny’s Shoes & Car Keys).

Johnny Silverhand Collectible: Johnny’s Shoes count towards the Johnny Silverhand items that you need for the :silver: Breathtaking trophy. Be sure to pick them up. They will be permanently bound to your inventory and cannot be dropped, sold, or disassembled. However, if you forgot to pick them up here you can still return later at any time after the gig and they will still be accessible in the same cabinet.

Retrieve Dan’s car (Optional)

If you took the car keys from the cabinet above, you can use them on the car just left of the cabinet. This is highly recommended because you will gain some bonus money for delivering the car (optional objective).

Leave the parking lot

Simply drive out of the garage.

Deliver the car to Dan (Optional) / Deliver the recording to Dan

Head to the waypoint marker further north in Westbrook. It’s a short one minute drive away. Park the car on the side of the street, as shown in the image below. Then talk to the client who is waiting upstairs by a bar. Give him his bootleg recording.

Leave the area

With the client satisfied, leave the area and Rogue will call.

  • If you completed the Optional Objective she will be pleased and say that a satisfied client means a satisfied fixer. She will send you some bonus money for completing the gig.
  • If you didn’t deliver the car, she will be displeased because she (and thus you) lost out on the bonus cash from the client.

Collect your reward from Drop Point

Head to the last waypoint of this gig to collect your reward. You get €$6950 if you completed the optional objective.

This finishes Family Heirloom gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77).

There is a bug in this mission (possibly in others too).

    Here is what happened.
    1. In step “Deliver the car to Dan (Optional) / Deliver the recording to Dan”, I accidently hit someone with the car before parking it, which triggered a police warrant.
    2. Cops spawned immediately, I ignored them and went straight to the client (whom in a restaurant, a SAFE AREA).
    3. Because of me entering a SAFE AREA, this cancelled the police warrant. (Yet, I could still see the cops are looking for me just outside lol)
    4. I talked with the client, then left the area.

I thought the mission ended, but after playing for an hour or so, I noticed it still showing in my Journal. I can’t track it, and nothing is showing in the map.

I restarted the console, but nothing changed. I checked LOAD SAVE and all of them were after I done above steps. Rogue didn’t call, and didn’t help when I called her either. I don’t know what to do. I have Manual Save but its waaay old.

So, my advice is; Never get police warrant during missions. Or if you do, try to lose them first before continuing with the mission. DO NOT go for next objective while the cops are after you.

Update: The same thing happened in another Gig. This time no police warrant, but they have another thing in common. The fixer, Rogue, never calls after I’m done with the missions.

About Rogue, I did both her quests (+romance) . Maybe that’s why she never calls 🙁

OK. it fixed now. here’s what I did.

      1. I skipped 24hr and fast traveled to another district.
      2. called rogue and picked every dialogue. (noticed she spawned next to me)
      3. went back to same area (restaurant) by driving.

this triggered the call from rogue and instructed me to go to collect my reward.

P.S: just before the call from rogue, I received two back to back calls from Wakako thanking me for doing a gig? and closing it. I didn’t even do a gig for her!!! And the dialogue was the same for both.. WTF??

When driving back, drive slow. if you go fast it may not work

I completed all other Westbrook Gigs/Scanners, the main story up until Nocturne OP55N1, all of the Chippin’ In side quest for Rogue/Johnny, and had Street Cred at 50 but this ‘?’ would not show up on the map for me. What finally got it to show up was fast traveling the Megabuilding H8 and approaching Brendan the talking vending machine who was getting worked on by the technician. After this, I fast traveled to a nearby point. Upon opening my map, I now had a side quest on the map for the vending machine as well as the ? for this gig. For some strange reason, this Gig seems tied to the vending machine in some weird way.

Do you know how to start this vending mission and is it at v apartment building ?

There is a legendary L-69 Zhuo shotgun crafting blueprint in case on the right inside of garage main entrance. You have to open the grate doors from inside to get to it or have 13 points in Technical Ability to open from main garage entrance side.

I hope this helps someone, to whom this ? appears, but Rogue never calls!… This ? appears to me reaching Street Credit 40 (not 35). I had completed all other Gigs in this district… I went there, but Rogue did not call…I sped back to city calling her…asking the third dialog option, then first, returned to ? and hung up almost reaching the ? building… Rogue did not call, but messaged the mission details!! Finally might I complete this district!…

And I add that after this I loaded one autosave after reaching Street Credit 40…simply returned to ? and Rogue called normally. I tried doing this with my current save (for these retries I loaded one save before this ? appearing on map), but did not work… Perhaps this must be done around its appearence (which to me was Street Credit 40)…

Family herloom can be bugged (if you kill don).. i acidentlly did before getting this quest bc i killed r3no. Ffs my second play through is void (first was bc of the quest that is glitched if Johnny doesn’t appear & couldn’t get every car).

I had trouble having this quest pop too, I just kept to the NCPD scanners around the area and also finished all Wakako’s gigs and any other side jobs I could do, eventually the gig just showed up on my map, I went to the area of the gig and Rogue called. Hope this helps, I nearly lost hope but thankfully it popped!
