Cyberpunk 2077 Dream On Walkthrough

December 26, 2020 by PowerPyx 3 Comments

Dream On is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Dream On Side Quest, how to examine the Peralez Apartment, and where to find the transmission source location.

Area: Westbrook (Charter Hill)
Quest Giver: The Peralezes
Requirement: Finished “I Fought the Law” and wait a few in-game days
Reward: €$8960, 817 XP
Mission Info: Well, well special favors for the politicians. You think you’ve got any clout here? The Peralezes might seem like decent and down-to-earth folk — not sitting snug in the corps’ pockets like the rest. But they’re still part of the ruling elite, V. If they gotta step over you to get to the top, they won’t hesitate. Don’t believe even for a second that they’re any different.

Objectives:

  • Go to the Peralezes’ apartment
  • Use the intercom
  • Take the elevator
  • Talk to Elizabeth
  • Talk to the Peralezes
  • Sit
  • Talk to Elizabeth
  • Let Elizabeth show you around
  • Examine the apartment
    • Follow the blood trail
    • (Optional) Search the security room for a way to open the hidden door
    • Open the secret door
    • Find the hidden room
    • Scan the strange computer
    • Follow the cables
    • Find the transmission source
    • Talk to Elizabeth
  • Leave the apartment
  • Look for the surveillance van
  • Follow the surveillance van
  • Neutralize the attackers
  • Connect to the van’s access point
  • Call Elizabeth
  • Go to the ramen shop
  • Talk to Elizabeth
  • Meet with Jefferson / Talk to Jefferson

Starting Location: Dream On

Go to the Peralezes’ apartment

The quest marker where you arrive will be on an apartment complex. Walk up to the door.

Use the intercom

The door is locked, you must use the intercom on the right side of the door to call the Peralez family so they let you in.

Take the elevator

Use the elevator in the lobby and take it to the 25th floor penthouse.

Talk to Elizabeth

There you meet Elizabeth Peralez. Follow her into her living room.

Talk to the Peralezes / Sit

Her husband Jefferson Peralez is sitting on the couch and talking on the phone. After an initial greeting you’re told to sit down.

Exhaust all yellow main dialogues here to advance:

  • SSI have anything to say?
  • Describe the intruder for me?
  • When did you come to?
  • Anything missing from the apartment?

Here you learn that the Peralezes had a break-in a few days ago. Jefferson was awoken in the middle of the night and shot at the intruder but passed out and can’t remember anything afterward. Because of their political campaign they don’t want any police involved – which would only attract reporters and unwanted attention. So instead they called V to play private investigator and handle things quietly. This mission has you investigate the crime.

Talk to Elizabeth

Jefferson is busy and heads off to a meeting. His wife Elizabeth will offer to show you around the house:

  • OK, lead the way –> pick this to make the path more straightforward
  • Rather do this my own way

For the purpose of this walkthrough, we will pick “OK, lead the way”. This way Elizabeth leads you to the blood trail (our first big clue) and you won’t get lost trying to find it yourself.

Let Elizabeth show you around

If you went with the above recommended choice, you must now follow Elizabeth upstairs. Just follow her.

Examine the apartment

Your main objective throughout the penthouse is to “examine the apartment”. This has multiple steps to it with several important clues needed. The below objectives will show them all.

Note: not all clues are relevant (and none of the shards are needed). Only the main clues shown here are needed. You use :l1: / :lb: to scan for clues, which will highlight them in yellow. The next objectives show how to examine the apartment in Dream On.

Follow the blood trail

After you followed Elizabeth upstairs, she will walk you through Jefferson’s office (and makes a comment that it looks like a flea market), then she stops in a hallway. It’s in this hallway where we find our first clue – a bloodtrail.

In the middle of the hallway where Elizabeth stops, scan the floor for blood and the wall for bullet holes. See the images below.

Now we must follow the blood trail. Go through the double door at the end of the hallway.

Scan the blood in the next room and exit through the door on the right.

Keep scanning the blood on the floor.

At the end you will run into a closed door. V will ask Elizabeth about this locked door and she seems completely unaware that there’s a hidden room there. If you have 7 Body Attribute you can pry it open right away. If not, you must use the security computer one floor below to open it. The next 2 objectives (optional) will show how to open the secret door without the Body Attribute.

(Optional) Search the security room for a way to open the hidden door

This is only necessary if you don’t have 7 Body Attribute to pry open the door. From where the blood trail ends, head down one floor below. There you can find a room with 2 computers. First you must read the message on the left computer. It reveals the computer access code is 6709. Then you can use this code to access the computer on the right. Both computers are circled red in the image below.

Open the secret door

Use the computer on the right, input the code 6709, and then in the Local Network section open the secret door of the Peralez Apartment.

Find the hidden room

Backtrack to the floor above where the blood trail ended. The hidden room will now be open, which is needed to advance with the Dream On mission.

Scan the strange computer

Elizabeth will join you to check out the room. She is shocked, apparently her security personnel have been sitting behind a mirror to her bedroom and spied on her and her husband.

Inside the hidden room, scan the wall panel. You can see some cables (highlighted yellow in scanner) going from this panel to the roof. We must now follow the cables to the roof.

Follow the cables

The quickest way is to climb the ladder in the hidden room, then open the hatch at the top and climb to the roof.

On the roof you will find a yellow antenna / satellite dish (transceiver). Scan it and Johnny will show up to make some comments because he knows this piece of tech.

Find the transmission source

How to find the transmission source location in Dream On: Stand next to the yellow satellite dish on the rooftop of the Peralezes Penthouse. Now look in the same direction the satellite dish is facing (north-west) and use your scanner L1/LB. Look down to the street level and it will highlight the transmission source in yellow.

See the images below for the transmission source location (standing left of the yellow satellite dish):

Talk to Elizabeth

V learns that there’s a surveillance van parked nearby that sends signals to the satellite dish. Report your findings to Elizabeth, who is sitting in front of the secret room.

Leave the apartment

Now leave the apartment the same way you came (follow yellow waypoints).

Look for the surveillance van

The surveillance van is only 350 meters away. Be warned, when you get close, the van will drive off and you must follow it. You should come prepared with a fast vehicle. If you let the van get away you’d have to reload the last checkpoint. The van can drive relatively quick, so don’t use a slow car.

Follow the surveillance van

Follow the van through the town. It’s a few minutes drive. No need to attack or ram the van, just follow it and stay close.

Neutralize the attackers

The van will stop at an enemy hideout. Defeat all enemies there.

Connect to the van’s access point

Then you can jack into the access point on the left side of the van. Here you will learn that some unknown group has been altering the Peralezes brains, they are brainwashing them and just spying.

Call Elizabeth

Hold  to bring up your phone and call Elizabeth. She wants to meet up at a ramen shop.

Go to the ramen shop

The ramen shop is in Westbrook (Japantown). Fast travel there to save some time.

Talk to Elizabeth

During your dialogue with Elizabeth it doesn’t matter what dialogues you pick, they all lead to the same outcome. Basically, you will report your findings that they are being remotely brainwashed by some unknown group. However, she already knew that because she got a call from the group and chose not to tell her husband to protect him. So she let the brainwashing go on. She begs that you don’t tell her husband because there’s no telling what the brainwashers might do to him.

Meet with Jefferson / Talk to Jefferson

Your last objective is to report back to Jefferson. You’ll meet with him in a park in City Center. On your way there, the conspirators will call and warn you to not tell Jefferson the truth.

Now when talking to Jefferson you can either tell him the truth that he is being brainwashed. Or you can lie to him and tell him it was just his rival spying on him.

What you choose doesn’t matter. This is the end of the Peralezes questline. Either way it will complete this quest and you get your reward right away.

This finishes Dream On side quest job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77).

It actually does matter what you choose in the end of this quest.

You’ll see vast differences in the epilogue of the game based on what you chose.

      What happens?

Either way, there’s no gameplay or further plot consequence in this game. If he’s mayor in the Phantom Liberty DLC, it’ll probably become significant then.
