Introduction
Welcome to the Crow Country Trophy Guide! Crow Country is an old-school survival horror, inspired by the likes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill with the aesthetics of Final Fantasy VII. The game is relatively short and can be completed in about 6 hours without a walkthrough, or about 3 with our walkthrough. Platinum can be achieved in a single playthrough and the main requirement for this is getting S Rank. Fortunately, time played and number of saves don’t matter for your ranking, it just comes down to healing item usage.
Step 1: Complete the game on Survival Horror, get all secrets and attempt S Rank
The majority of trophies in Crow Country are tied to finding all the secrets, as well as getting B/A/S ranks upon completing the game. You will need to play on Survival Horror, as Exploration Mode does not give you a ranking upon completing the game.
In order to get a S Rank you will need to complete the game with the following:
- 10 or Fewer Heals Used
- 0 Hints Spent
- 15 Secrets Found
- 0 Lives Used
It is recommended that you follow the Crow Country Walkthrough to get all trophies in a single playthrough. If you prefer to do a blind playthrough, you can follow it on a second playthrough. As time and saves don’t factor into your ranking, you can save as much as you like and take your time playing. As long as you don’t use the Fortune Tellers you will stay at 0 Hints and if you keep Extra Lives turned off in the Settings (off by default), you will get 0 there too.
You need to get all 15 Secrets anyway for other trophies, so the only factor here are the 10 or Fewer Heals Used. Med Kits and Antidotes count at 1 Heal Used, but Large Med Kits count as 2 Heals Used, so make sure you only use these when you’re low on health, and possibly also poisoned. Most enemies can be avoided without much hassle, but if in doubt it’s better to clear out enemies to avoid damage. Save regularly so that you can reload if you feel you’ve taken too much damage.
[Optional] Step 2: S Rank Playthrough + Cleanup
If you didn’t get an S Rank on your first playthrough, then follow the Crow Country Walkthrough to get it now. If you managed to get A Rank on the first playthrough, you’ll be able to use the Crownade Launcher during this to make dealing with enemies easier, as Bonus Items do not affect your ranking. If you missed any other trophies you can clean them up either on a second playthrough or from loading a save near the end of the game as you can still access the whole map.

Completing the game with an S Rank will unlock the Crow Wings, which allow you to fast travel between save points.
In order to get S Rank, you will need to complete the game on Survival Horror with the following requirements:
Time Played and Saves do not count towards ranking, so you are free to save as much as you want and take your time as you play. If you don’t use the Fortune Tellers around the map you won’t spend any Hints, and if you have Extra Lives turned off in “Settings > Game” then you won’t be able use any lives. All Secrets are needed for most other trophies so you will get these anyway. The main requirement here is 10 or Fewer Heals used. You will need to use a few heals to get one of the Secrets (due to forced damage), but even with that there’s quite a bit of leniency. It is important to note that Med Kits and Antidotes count as 1 Heal Used, whilst Large Med Kits count as 2 Heals Used. Because of this, only use Large Med Kits when you’re seriously injured and/or poisoned. You can avoid most enemies, but sometimes it is safer to kill enemies that appear rather than trying to avoid them. There is plenty of ammo to deal with enemies. You will also want to take caution around the traps that appear. There are bear traps, gas mines and chandeliers that will trigger when stepping on/under them, and can be simply shot to disarm them. Later in the game you will also find explosive items that look like regular items (like health kits), except they have a slightly different color and appear in the open rather than tucked away like regular items are. |
