Introduction
Welcome to the CTR: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Trophy Guide (PS4 Remake)! The classic kart-racer is back with a bang. The original received a fresh paint and additionally 13 Crash Nitro Kart (CNK) tracks have been added as well. Veterans should know what awaits them in order to unlock the Platinum Trophy, but if you’re new to this game, this guide will help you.
Achieving most of the trophies should be easy for everyone and the only real challenge will be beating Adventure mode on hard difficulty and completing the Time Trials against N.Tropy and especially against Oxide. The platinum is very hard, but doable with enough practice and patience. The game has a nice learning curve and you notice it yourself pretty fast. Driving itself won’t make a pro out of you though. The key to winning on hard difficulty and in time trials is to take advantage of the drift-boosting-system in this game.
Step 1: Finish Adventure Mode on Easy and Get 100% Completion
Crash Team Racing has an Adventure Mode (Story) which wants you to win Races, Relic Trials and CTR-Challenges on 20 different tracks. The game offers you 2 different Adventure Modes – the Classic from the original and a new one made for this remake. In the original you can’t choose the difficulty and you will be stuck with the character you choose first. In the new Adventure Mode you can switch between racers and choose the difficulty as well. For the trophies we will have to go with the new one since we have to finish the adventure mode on hard difficulty, you should however finish it on a lower difficulty with 100% completion before trying the hard mode. The reason you should start on easy is that the CTR Challenges and Relic Challenges would be a 10/10 difficulty on hard and in some cases practically impossible. So 100% the story first on easy, then you can skip the CTR Challenges and Relics on your hard playthrough which makes it a lot easier!
Recommended Character for Adventure Mode: Speed Class like Tiny Tiger, Dingodile or Penta Penguin (the same is true for hard difficulty).
How does the Adventure Mode work?: You will have to win 4 races in each world to challenge the boss in this world (the boss track will be bold):
- N.Sanity Beach Tracks – Crash Cove, Roo’s Tubes, Sewer Speedway, Mystery Caves
- The Lost Ruins – Coco Park, Tiger Temple, Papu’s Pyramid, Dingo Canyon
- Glacier Park – Blizzard Bluff, Dragon Mines, Polar Pass, Tiny Arena
- Citadel City – N.Gin Labs, Cortex Castle, Hot Air Skyway, Oxide Station
Once you have defeated the boss in a hub-world you will receive a key to the next area. There is more to do in each world, however. Each track has 2 additional things to do: Relic Challenges and CTR Challenges.
The Relic Challenges have you driving on the track without enemies for a RELIC. You will have to achieve a fast time while collecting crates spread around the track. Those will give you either 1, 2 or 3 seconds time bonus when you crush them and additionally you will receive a 10 sec time bonus if you manage to crush all crates in 3 laps, not necessary but helpful. It’s worth noting that you only need the lowest-tier Relic for 100% (gold / platinum relics are NOT needed). Thankfully, the time requirements for the lowest rank relics are more forgiving. The difficulty you pick for Adventure Mode also affects the times, so by playing on easy you have more forgiving time limits than on hard.
CTR-Challenges will earn you CTR-TOKENS. You will race against a full grid of opponents once again but additionally to winning you will have to collects 3 letters C, T and R which will be located somewhere on the track. Those will always be in the same locations so you can pre-plan when to collect them. You have to also win the race after finding the 3 letters to be awarded the Token. » Crash Team Racing – All CTR Challenges Guide
Once you defeated the last boss “Oxide” he will have you complete the game at 100% before he will face you again for a second and final time. Each Hub-Area also has a CRYSTAL-CHALLENGE. This challenge will have you collect 20 crystals in a small area, with limited time. The arenas are Skull Rock, Rampage Ruins, Rocky Road and Nitro Park respectively. Finishing those will award you the purple CTR-Tokens. » Crash Team Racing – All Crystal Challenges Guide
On your journey through the hub-worlds you might have noticed the Gem Stone Valley Hub-Area which will now be of interest. Collecting all CTR-Tokens of a single color will unlock a Gem Cup in this hub. Collecting all Tokens will unlock all Gem-Cups which will each award you a GEM. After unlocking at least 10 Relics and all 5 Gems you will unlock 2 additional tracks in this hub as well: Slide Coliseum and Turbo Track. Getting everything done on each track will grant you 100% and the second race against Oxide.
Step 2: Crystal Challenges, Winning on CNK Tracks, Cleanup
In the Local Arcade you can play Crystal Challenges on stages not available in the Adventure Mode. There are 12 Crystal Challenges in total. You will have to finish all of them except those you have already beaten in the Adventure. In the same Arcade Menu you can choose to race on each of the CNK Tracks, winning on all tracks earns you the “Nitrostalgia” trophy.
Step 3: N.Tropy and Oxide Time Trials
This will be the Platinum breaker for most players. For the trophies “The New Time-Master” & “Gasmoxian Slug” you must finish beat Tropy’s & Oxide’s times in ALL Time Trials except the bonus track (Retro Stadium). This also includes the Crash Nitro Kart (CNK)! So that’s 31 Time Trials total (18 Crash Team Racing + 13 Crash Nitro Kart).
While selecting Time Trials from the main menu you will be able to play a Time Race (this time without breakable crates) to test your skill on each track.
First you must finish the track in a decent time to unlock the ghost of N.Tropy.
Second, you will have to beat the ghost of N.Tropy to unlock the Oxide ghost afterward.
Third, you will have to beat the ghost of Oxide.
Beating the Oxide time during your N.Tropy trial will NOT count. It only counts after you defeated Tropy and unlocked Oxide’s ghost. This means a minimum of 3 playthroughs per track are needed. In reality it will take a lot more tries than that to perfect each track, usually between 30-60 minutes practice per trial.
While N.Tropy is quite tough to beat, the real challenge comes with Oxide. He drives ridiculous lines and takes advantages of each shortcut. So to beat all his times you will have to use all shorcuts as well. Memorize each track, every shortcut, every best line and become a master of the boost-system. Without the mastery of each of those, you won’t be able to beat him. Additionally take advantage of each unintentional shortcut discovered. On some tracks Oxide might be easier to defeat compared to other tracks. With mastery of a track you will leave him far behind you on some tracks but on others even though you drive perfectly you will only be able to beat him barely.

Step 4: Hard Mode Adventure
Start a new Nitro-Fueled Adventure and select hard difficulty. Don’t select Classic Adventure as it won’t let you pick the difficulty!
For this trophy you only need to complete the 16 story races on hard and defeat Nitrous Oxide the first time. It is NOT needed to reach 100% completion on hard. This means you can skip all CTR Challenges, Relics, and Crystal Challenges. Only the 16 main story races are needed, which thankfully makes this more doable.
The AI on Hard Mode is very challenging. It’s highly recommended going for the hard mode after mastering all tracks for Oxide Trials. It will make it feel easier because by now you’re a master on every track. On many tracks the AI drives faster than N.Tropy. Some tracks are way harder than the others. Just to give you an idea, here are the easiest and the hardest tracks to win on in Adventure Mode.
- Easy: Tiger Temple, Oxide Station, Polar Pass
- Hard: Cortex Castle, Tiny Arena, Oxide Boss Battle
Basically the tracks with big shortcuts you can take advantage of are easier and those without any sort of shortcuts will have you give it your all to have a chance. Using drift-boosts is essential.

Winning on the two Bonus Tracks in Gem Stone Valley (Slide Coliseum & Turbo Track) is also needed for 100% Completion. |
||
Arena Explorer Complete a Crystal Challenge in the Adventure Mode. |
||
Each of the 4 Hub-World has one Crystal Challenge, in which you will have to collect 20 crystals in a small arena within a time limit. Those arenas are: Skull Rock, Rampage Ruins, Rocky Road and Nitro Park. Finishing a Crystal Challenge will grant you a Purple CTR-Token.

You only need the lowest level Relic (Sapphire) on every track. The Gold / Platinum Relics are NOT needed! This means you only need to beat the easiest time requirement and get any relic on each of the 16 playable tracks. |
||
Gem Collector Earn all the Gems in the Adventure Mode. |
||
First you must beat the story in Adventure Mode to open up the big gate in the Gem Stone Valley hub-world. Behind that gate is the entrance to 5 Gem Cups.
Gem-Cups are unlocked by collecting all CTR-Tokens of a single color. Obtain all CTR Tokens in the game to unlock all Cups. A Gem-Cup is a series of multiple races which will award you points depending on your position. Win all of them to earn this trophy. |
||
Token Collector Earn all the CTR Tokens in the Adventure Mode. |
||
In Adventure mode, after winning a race for the first time you can return to it and a new option “CTR Challenge” can now be selected. The CTR Challenges require you to find 3 hidden letters “C”, “T”, “R” on all 16 race tracks. In addition to this, you must also win the race while collecting the letters! It’s highly recommended to play Adventure Mode on easy difficulty for this. The reason being that some letters are in odd places that slow you down, which makes finishing races more difficult (and on hard difficulty it’s near impossible on some tracks to win while also going for those letters).
See the below guide for all CTR Letter Locations on all Tracks. » Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled – All CTR Challenges Letter Locations |
||
Photo Finish Win a race with less than 0.3 seconds between you and the second place. |
||
Most likely this will come naturally on your path to platinum, particularly while attempting the Adventure Mode on hard difficulty.
But if you want to get it out of the way, play a short race track like Roo’s Tubes on easy. Let an opponent stay a bit in front of you and pass them just before the finish line. Or you can also slow down just before the finish line to let the 2nd place catch up. |
||
BOOM! Hit two opponents with a single Bowling Bomb. |
||
Bowling Bombs are those black balls which you can roll behind or towards yourself. You can get them randomly from boxes during every race. There’s a bit of luck is involved to get this done – first you need to get a Bowling Bomb and then you need to get two opponents close together. Try shooting into crowded areas like sharp curves.
Super Boost! Do a Super Boost. |
||
While having 10 Wumpa Fruits hit a Turbo-Pad after performing a triple Slide-Boost. Should come naturally.
Expert Dodger Win a boss challenge without getting hit by any of the boss’ Power-Ups. |
||
Easiest way of doing it is beating any boss on Easy difficulty. They are fairly slow on easy and once you overtake them there should be no chance of them catching up to you and since they only throw their powerups behind them, they won’t be able to hit you.
Drifter Drift 15 Times in a row during a race. |
||
Press + , + and repeat 15 times. It can be very short drifts, you don’t necessarily have to wait for your tires to get a “burning” effect (but doing so is also fine). It’s best to do this on the race track “Coco Park”. Give the opponents 30 seconds headstart so nobody is in your way, then jump-drift left and right. Between each drift it’ll do a jump to trigger the next drift. Coco Park has very wide roads and is an easy circular track. Sometimes it won’t count a drift for some reason even though you do it correctly, but don’t worry. Just keep drifting the entire race and it will pop along the way. It may take 20 or 30 drifts. |
||
Master Drifter Successfully use all three Turbo Boost charges 5 times in a row during a race. |
||
Turbo Boost is performed while drifting with + and then tapping when the smoke from your exhaust turns black, or when the boost bar in the bottom right corner turns red. You must do this 3 times in a single drift for a faster boost. Do the 3-boost-combo 5 times in a row without failing to unlock this trophy. In other words: do 15 Turbo Boost in a row during a race (5 x 3 Turbo Boosts). After each set of 3 Turbo Boost you need to press + again to start a new drift that lets you use another 3 Turbo Boosts. If you fail only one Turbo Boost (pressing too early or too late), it will reset the count for the trophy. All slides you start must result in a triple Turbo Boost, 5 times in a row! It’s easiest to do this while driving in a circle. The race track “Coco Park” works well. Let the opponents pass you at the start so you have free space. At the first left turn you can drift in a big circle on the road and grass. See the video for a demonstration. Note: Do it in Single Race mode through the Local Arcade (from Main Menu) if it doesn’t pop in other modes. |
||
Burning Rubber! Drift Boost a total of 500 times. |
||
Turbo Boost is performed by pressing while drifting ( + or ). Once the boost bar turns red press and this will perform a Boost. Perform 500 times for the trophy. An alternative way is to watch out for the black smoke from your exhaust during a drift. When you see black smoke press to activate the boost.
Yeeee HAW! Complete the Adventure Mode on the Hard difficulty. |
||
In the CTR Nitro-Fueled Remake you can choose between the Classic Adventure Mode and the new Nitro-Fueled Adventure Mode.
In Classic Mode you can’t select hard difficulty. But in Nitro-Fueled Adventure you can switch racers between tracks and choose the difficulty at the beginning of the Adventure Mode. So you’ll have to play the new Nitro-Fueled mode to even select hard difficulty and earn this trophy. For this trophy you only need to complete the 16 story races on hard and defeat Nitrous Oxide the first time. It is NOT needed to reach 100% completion on hard. This means you can skip all CTR Challenges, Relics, and Crystal Challenges. Only the 16 main story races are needed, which thankfully makes this a lot more doable. In hard mode the AI drives faster than you from the get-go and you will need to master the tracks to be able to beat them. On some tracks the AI is forgiving (Tiger Temple, Oxide Station) and on others they are driving insane times which are sometimes even faster than those of N.Tropy in his Time Trials (Cortex Castle, Tiny Arena). Attempting this on your first run will be troublesome and is not recommended. Only try hard after you’ve learned to beat all Oxide times in Time Trials. |
||
Hyper Speed Finish first when you were last on the final lap. |
||
Self-explanatory. Being last gives you better Power-Ups so it is totally doable catching up the first placed opponent. The clock or the Aku-Mask should help you catch up quickly.
Rear-viewed Block an incoming missile with all of the following Power-Ups: Beaker, Crate, Bowling Bomb. |
||
When an opponent shoots a missile at you, you will see a red square and some arrows getting closer to each other, this is the distance between you and the missile. Throw all of the mentioned Power-Ups behind you to protect yourself from it.
The New Time-Master Beat all of Nefarious Tropy’s times in Time Trial Mode. |
||
In “Local Arcade” > “Time Trial” you can set a time for each track in the game. If your time is good enough you will unlock the N. Tropy Ghost. Beat N. Tropy to unlock N. Oxide Ghost.
You will have to beat N.Tropy in ALL Time Trials except the one bonus track “Retro Stadium”. That’s 18 Trials from Crash Team Racing (CTR) + 13 from Crash Nitro Kart (CNK). Only the 18 Crash Team Racing tracks are NOT enough for this trophy, you need the CNK tracks too. |
||
Gasmoxian Slug Beat all of Nitros Oxide’s times in Time Trial Mode. |
||
In “Local Arcade” > “Time Trial” you can set a time for each track in the game. If your time is good enough you will unlock the N. Tropy Ghost. Beat N. Tropy to unlock N. Oxide Ghost. You will have to beat N.Tropy first and only then it will count your time for Oxide! Even if you beat the Oxide Time in a previous run it won’t count! It will only count when you race against Oxide’s ghost (after beating Tropy’s time).
It’s worth noting that this is harder than in the original PS1 version because the time requirements are more strict in the PS4 Remake. |
||
Natural Win a race without using any Power-Ups. |
||
Self-explanatory. Play on easy and you should win even without Power-Ups. Using Shortcuts can make it easier.
Nitrostalgia Finish first on all tracks. (CTR & CNK) |
||
Simply win a race on all tracks in the game. This includes all Crash Team Racing (CTR) tracks as well as all Crash Nitro Kart (CNK) tracks. You can do this in Local Arcade against easy AI or second controller.
There are 32 Tracks in total: 18 from Crash Team Racing (CTR) + 13 from Crash Nitro Kart (CNK) + 1 Bonus Track. However, the bonus track can be skipped for this trophy. The ones you already won in Adventure mode don’t have to be repeated. However, the two tracks from Gem Stone Valley need to be repeated because in Adventure they are only Relic Challenges and you must play single races for it to count. Other than this you only have to do the CNK tracks after having finished Adventure mode already. No need to replay CTR tracks in Arcade if you already won in Adventure. |
||
Can’t Hide From Me Successfully land all three missiles from a Triple Missile Power-Up. |
||
While having 10 Wumpa Fruits a single missile will turn into three. Hit with each one of them for the trophy. You can find them during every race randomly from boxes.
Weapon Technician Use every Power-Up once. (Race & Battle Arena) |
||
You will have to use each Power-Up at least once. They are found randomly in boxes during every race. Some are exclusive to Battle Mode (can be selected from the Arcade in Main Menu). After doing a few races, get your missing Power-Ups in Battle > Limit Battle. In this mode you can even select what Power-Ups to enable or disable! So if you are missing only a certain one you can disable all others to guarantee what you need will drop.
|
||
Dungeon Vaulter Use the shortcut in Cortex Castle. |
||
Just before the second bridge jump (which is the last jump before the end of the lap), there’s a wooden bridge inside the building you drive through. This wooden bridge is a shortcut, but the first part of the bridge is broken off, so you’re supposed to jump to it. Without a Turbo Boost this can be tricky, so an easier workaround is to drive across the bridge from the back (which you can do by turning left immediately before the big bridge jump). By driving it backwards the jump is much easier to make and no power-ups are needed. |
||
Arctic Hurdler Use the shortcut in Polar Pass. |
||
For this jump you should first collect 10 Wumpa Fruit, it increases your speed and lets you jump further! Immediately after driving across the small wooden bridge with water on both sides, you will come through a frozen cave with two seals at the end (the seals that move and hurt you). Behind the seals is a wall with a yellow street-banner and black arrows on it. For the shortcut you must jump over this wall! Doing so requires a boost. One way is to do a jump (hold ) just before the two seals at the cave exit to gain a jump-boost. If you miss the boost, simply drive back and repeat until you can make it successfully. Alternatively, you can also try getting a Turbo Boost power-up from a box and use that to gain enough speed. |
||
Winter Time Off-Roading Use all of Blizzard Bluff’s shortcuts in the same race. |
||
There are 4 Shortcuts in Blizzard Bluff, you must use them in one race. It’s recommended to get 10 Wumpa Fruit for the last 3 shortcuts, as it allows you to gain more speed and jump further. You can simply backtrack until you get all shortcuts in the same lap:
|
||
Pyramid Parkour Use all of Papu’s Pyramid’s shortcuts in the same race. |
||
There are 2 Shortcuts in Papu’s Pyramid needed for this trophy. You must get both in one race.
|
||
Puddle Hopper Use the shortcut in Crash Cove. |
||
After taking the first left turn (near start of race), there will be a small wooden ramp with a puddle of water behind it. Jump over the ramp for a jump-boost, drive through the puddle of water and in the last moment hold for a high jump onto the meadow behind the water puddle. Using a character with high acceleration (such as Coco) makes it a bit easier. Alternatively, get a Turbo Boost Power-Up if you have trouble with this jump. |
||
Half-Pipe Karting Use the shortcut in Sewer Speedway. |
||
This is one of the trickiest shortcuts. From the start of Sewer Speedway, at the first two tunnels, take the right-side tunnel. After this there are 3 tunnels (you will only see two, because the right one is hidden on a lower level). Jump down to the tunnel on the right side. Then you come to a waterway with blue water. On the right-side wall there will be a white writing “2+2-5” and behind this is an opening at the top of the wall. You need to jump through this opening. Use the right side of the water street as a “ramp”. The timing is really tricky here, you need to jump off at the last moment. Take a look at the video (can also watch it at lower speed to see the timing). It’s easiest with an acceleration class character such as Coco. It’s not necessary to boost for this, just having proper timing with the jump will suffice. |
||
Let me in! Use the shortcut in Tiger Temple. |
||
You should attempt this in Time Trial Mode because the shortcut will always be open. In other modes it will be closed by default. After the first two flame-breathing traps, the path will split up. Take the left path and this will be the shortcut. In time trial mode you’ll see it easily. In normal race the path won’t split up because the shortcut will be hidden behind a big gate. To open it, you’d have to hit the gate with a power-up such as missiles, bowling bomb, or mask. Doing it in Time Trial mode makes it much easier to see. |
||
Minekarting Use the shortcut in Dragon Mines without being crushed. |
||
Shortly after the start of Dragon Mines, you come through a water-filled pirate cave. After this cave, drive down the path slowly and you’ll see mine karts moving from left to right. When you see such a moving mine kart, follow it on its tracks. The minecart tracks themselves are the shortcut. But you must reach the other end without getting crushed by a minecart behind you. Just wait until one of them has moved and drive behind it. |
||
I know the way! Earn all the shortcut trophies. |
||
Earn the above 8 shortcut trophies to unlock this one: Dungeon Vaulter, Arctic Hurdler, Winter Time Off-Roading, Pyramid Parkour, Puddle Hopper, Half-Pipe Karting, Let me in!, Minekarting.
Juiced Up! Use all Juiced Up Power-Ups once. (Race & Battle Arena) |
||
You will have to have 10 Wumpa Fruits in your inventory for a Juiced-Up Power-Up. This will turn your Power-Up into a stronger version of itself. You get them randomly from boxes during races. Some are exclusive to Battle Mode (can be selected from the Arcade in Main Menu). After doing a few races, get your missing Power-Ups in Battle > Limit Battle. In this mode you can even select what Power-Ups to enable or disable! So if you are missing only a certain one you can disable all others to guarantee what you need will drop.
|
||
Unstoppable Sustain your boost for a whole lap. |
||
By combining Power-Slide Turbo, Turbo-Pads and Turbo-Power Ups you will have to keep your exhaust on fire for a whole lap. This might be tricky but considering you want to beat Oxide Time Trials, this should come naturally at some point. The easiest track for it is Coco Park since you have a lot of space for triple-boosts and some turbo pads in between. Most important is the Slide-Boost. You initiate a Slide-Boost by drifting ( + / ) and then press when you see black smoke coming from your exhaust, or when the boost bar in bottom right turns orange. You can string 3 slide-boosts together per drift, doing 3 in a row results in one big boost, which you must do repeatedly to maintain your boost. After 3 boosts, jump with to initiate a new slide and you can do 3 new boosts again. |
||
The Dominator! Win a match in every type of Battle Mode. |
||
Go to Main Menu > Local Arcade > Battle and win in all 5 Battle Modes:
Before each match you can adjust the battle settings. You should put the AI on easy every time. Instead of a time limit you can also select the lowest possible score limit (or the highest one if you find that easier). You can also reduce the number of AI opponents to only one. |
||
Get off me! Free yourself from a TNT crate. |
||
While having a TNT crate on your head spam in quick succession to jump repeatedly until the TNT disappears. |
||
Alchemist Directly hit an opponent with a thrown Beaker Power-Up. |
||
Hit an opponent by throwing a Beaker (green flask power-up) forward since throwing it backward will make you place it instead of throwing it. You can press + to throw it forward.
That’s How I Roll Customize your ride. |
||
Self-explanatory. Change your vehicle, pattern, wheels or whatever you like. You can change the appearance of your ride before any race. You can also press “randomize”.
Is everyone here? Unlock all characters from the original roster. |
||
Even though the Remake of Crash Team Racing features 26 Characters in total, not all of them are needed! You only need 14 characters from the original roster (all except Penta Penguin). The characters from the Pit Stop (Online Shop) are NOT needed for this trophy! N.Oxide (from beating all his time trials) is also not needed because he wasn’t playable in the PS1 version of the game. Only the 14 listed below are needed.
Here is the full list of all original Characters and how to unlock them:
Not needed for trophy, but one of the original characters: Penta Penguin – In the Main Menu hold + and press , , , , , , |
||
Oh, Shiny! Complete all Crystal Challenges. (CTR & CNK) |
||
In the Local Arcade you can play Crystal Challenges on stages not available in the Adventure Mode. You will have to finish all of them except those you have already beaten in the Adventure. In a Crystal Challenge you will have to collect 20 Purple Crystals spread around in the area within a time limit.
The Tracks you will have to finish are:

Bruno says
Beating the Adventure mode on Hard it only applies to beating races and beating Oxide once? Without relics/ ctr tokens? Or do we have to beat the game 100% like we did on the Easy run?
PowerPyx says
Only the 16 story races must be done on hard. CTR Tokens, Relics, Crystals, Gem Cups aren’t needed. It will unlock after beating N.Oxide for the first time. The 100% is not needed for hard difficulty trophy.

Will, a lot of grind isn’t my favorite hobby, I guess I’ll have to pass.

You’re going to pass up an extremely fun as well as a great game because the trophies require the player to put in effort?!!? Imaginary trophies. WOW!
You might as well go ahead and call the Waaaaaahbulance to come to your assistance and apply an idustrial-strength tube of Preparation-H to your butthurt!

S-T-ruggling to get the NT clock to spawn anywhere for the Juices Up trophy. Does anyone have any suggestions for a level it appears on more often than not? I’m trying normal races too as it isn’t a selectable power up in Battles.

Platinum4312 says
What if i use the cheats but disable them before i complete the trophy requirements?
PowerPyx says
When you disable the cheat it will unlock trophies again. You can disable them by entering Adventure mode or rebooting the game. Then trophies will pop normally.
And because cheats don’t work in Adventure mode, it won’t affect any Adventure trophies to begin with.
Frostdemon says
people, remember all tracks trophy. you need to re do the gem stone valley tracks as a race.
Platinum4312 says
Okay so your saying i can get 99% game complention using cheats then disable them so when i get 100% ill get the trophy yes?
PowerPyx says
No.
Cheats don’t work in Adventure mode.
Ayeven says
I’ve finished the Adventure mode (so won all CTR races) and went and won all CNK races (+ 2 CTR bonus tracks) via Local Arcade. Why is the “Nitrostalgia” trophy not unlocking ?
Here’s hoping I don’t have to win all CTR races in Local Arcade again …
PowerPyx says
I didn’t have to play Adventure races again in Arcade. Only CNK tracks.
But if you placed 2nd or 3rd during an Adventure race, that will be the missing one.
Also redo the two Gem Stone Valley tracks cause in Adventure they are Relic Challenges and not proper races.
Ayeven says
Got it, actually had two different saves so a few CNK races didn’t register while I was on the backup save … Just redoing those unlocked the trophy. Thanks for the help !

Been playing the game yesterday and today, popped the last of the 8 hidden shortcut trophies (Winter Time Off-Roading) earlier but the ‘I know the way!’ trophy hasn’t popped – is there anything else that needs to be done after collected all 8 shortcut trophies or is this a glitch?
PowerPyx says
Sounds like it glitched. Mine popped right away after 8th shortcut trophy within 3 seconds in same race. Nothing else needs to be done.
Your best hope is to reinstall the game (if you have the disc, stay offline so it doesn’t download patcH), then redo all shortcuts in 1 session. I want to point out there’s normally no need to do them in 1 session, I did it across many sessions, but it may help with that specific issue you’re having.
dale says
u can co-op some of the trophies using 2nd controller. It helps out on some of the annoying stuff
Simone Frangini says
Can I enable the unlimited turbo cheat for most of time trials and disable for the last race to obtain the 2 trophies?
PowerPyx says
No, it doesn’t save progress with cheats enabled. You can’t do anything towards a trophy with cheats.
Nabil Ziedra says
is there a save file bug when the game suddenly crashed for no reason and the save file get corrupted when you play the time trial?
max says
save file get corrupted
upload your save file to plus cloud so you can download again when this happen and everything still with you nothing gone
Abdullah says
how can i change control settings ?
Moero-Engetsu says
Cheers for putting a guide up, don’t know if it has been said or not, but if you unlock the second nitros oxide race before even doing the first race, you can get both trophies just from beating him once
Michel says
I Just beat all of relics but i didnt get the trophy! Help Please. Thank You
Daz says
Too hard the oxide trials. Any chance there will be an update to make it less hard?
Maisy Lyon says
Really struggling with adventure mode on hard. I’m boosting and doing everything I can but I’m really finding it hard.
Simons says
Does the new Grand Prix track count for time trials trophies?
I mean do we need to complete also this track to unlock the trophy?
JackG50822 says
Nope. Twilight Tour doesn’t count as it is a bonus track, just like Retro Stadium (thank god)
WaR_sl@yer says
Isn’t this plat a 9/10? Jesus, I painfully manage to beat all CTR oxide times, now I’ll do the CNK ones.
I'm mad says
the a.i. on hard is not hard. just unfair. they are always faster than you, even when you got the nitro item. and when you manage to hit them with a rocket, even right in front of you, they are not getting slower. It’s so ridiculous.
Michael says
Fully agree! I mean, I wouldn’t mind if the AI were snake-boosting down the straights and boosting entire laps, but their karts have a much faster top speed than yours WITHOUT even boosting. Some tracks I am pretty much boosting the whole lap, using all the shortcuts and the AI STILL win. It just reeks of unfairness. If they want to make the AI as fast as you at least make them have to boost the same way you do as a player.
Raven Kilit says
Since the grand prix began, only the special characters are present in the pitstop. Do you know if I have to wait for the grand prix to finish in order to have the basic characters to buy?
Paraszt says
Nice guide. I platinumed this at release and I’m replaying it on my second account now.
Overall it isn’t that difficult imo. If you learn how to U-turn and keep fire it’s relatively easy. I just completed adventure on hard without losing a race :D
Like Tiny Arena is down as a hard track in your adventure step, but my first time playing it in 3 years and my time in the race was over 30 seconds faster than oxide. It’s all about keeping the fire from the boost pad going. You don’t have to be anything close to perfect to beat Oxide time trials.
For beating oxide on hard the best advice is to restart if you aren’t in front of him when he starts shooting the cannon balls. You can get in front of him before he finishes the TNT, if you do that then it’s MUCH easier. Otherwise it’s pretty difficult.
Definitely spend some time practicing time trials, crash cove will give a new player a good foundation. Watch someone else get a high score and copy the technique.
