Control contains 20 Hidden Locations. Each location gives you one Ability Point, used to buy Ability Upgrades. In order to get the Platinum in Control you need to unlock all Ability Upgrades.
Ability Points are given to you when you complete Main Story or Side Missions. However, the amount given to you by these is not enough. To get all Ability Upgrades and Master Parautilitarian you also need to visit the majority of the 20 Hidden Locations available in the game. The guide below lists where to find all of these locations. It should be noted that for almost all of them you need to have the Levitate Ability unlocked. Additionally, some of these locations can only be visited after having played through some Main Story or Side Missions and can’t be accessed beforehand. So, play through the Story and the Side Missions first and when you’ve defogged the whole map and have unlocked all Clearance Levels and the Levitate Ability use this list to get what you need. The Hidden Locations are listed by sector.
Executive
- Executive Affairs
Atop the big stone pillar. Since it’s a little tricky to reach the top, a good idea is to use your Ground Slam Ability for an extra height boost.
- Communications Department
To access this Hidden Location, you need Levitate. Fast travel to the Control Point called “Mail Room”, then head north of it. Use the pictures below to know exactly where to go. Enter the room in the second picture and levitate on one of the cells here.
- Communications Department
To access this Hidden Location, you need to have played through the Side Mission called “Old Growth” given to you by Dr. Underhill. Before starting that mission, she will give you some pills that immunizes Jesse to the effects of Mold. This one is found in the room right next to the Hidden Location described above. If you access it without the effect of the pills, you’ll slowly die. After having obtained the pills, go back there and simply walk through the room to unlock the Ability Point.
Maintenance
- Access Corridor
Go to Central Executive and use the Sector Elevator to reach the Maintenance Sector Access Corridor level. From here levitate on one of the objects in the room to be able to comfortably reach a hole above. Then, levitate once more to access another hole above you. Then, levitate one last time towards the light. Cross the area until you can levitate down. Progress through the holes and the platforms until you can see a door leading you back tot he area where you started from.
- Break Room (near the Janitor’s Office)
In the same room where you fell through the floor and have unlocked the Evade Ability, there’s a hole in the ceiling that teleports you to an Astral Plan area. To access it, you need Levitate. Once you have Levitate, enter the hole and simply move from pillar to pillar, then Levitate through the light at the end of the area. To make it to the various pillars more easily, you might want to use a combination of Levitate + Evade.
- Pump Station (near the Janitor’s Office)
Fast Travel to the Control Point called “Ventilation” and make your way towards the Janitor’s Office. Enter the office and open the door on the left. Continue on until you reach a fan / sewers area. There’s a dead end here overlooking some Astral Plane bridges. From the dead end, levitate to the right to find an alcove in the wall.
- NSC Power Plant
Levitate your way up to the big tower in NSC Power Plant. You must reach the very top.
- Black Rock Quarry
In the Black Rock Quarry Entrance area there’s a hole between some rocks that leads you to a Mold-infested area. Either levitate through the hole or launch a nearby forklift to blow up the wall. Inaccessible without having first received the pills from Dr. Underhill.
- Black Rock Quarry / Furnace Chamber
In the Black Rock Quarry Entrance (where the Astral monster is) is a door in an above alcove you can enter. Use Levitate to climb the platforms and then follow the sewers until you find a door that leads you back to the Furnace Chamber. Upon getting to the area where the door is, you’ll unlock the Ability Point.
Research
- Central Research
In Central Research, there’s a small window area you can only access with Levitate. To shatter the glass, you can use either one of your Service Weapon Forms or Evade through the glass. Here is where one of the Mold hosts Dr. Underhill asks you to remove is located as well.
- Central Research
In Central Research, above the area with the glass cases, is a balcony. Levitate to it, enter the office, then open the door. Open a second door, easily spotted as it’s surrounded by some Mold. Simply enter the room and then climb the stairs to unlock this Hidden Location. Avoid interacting with the radio if you don’t want to be surrounded by Mold hosts. It should be noted that this room is inaccessible until you’ve obtained the pills that immunize you to Mold effect from Dr. Underhill.
- Central Research
At the very top of Central Research is a balcony with a door leading to a recording studio.
- Luck & Probability
In Luck & Probability there is an office with many items you can interact with. There’s a puzzle that needs to be solved here that awards you 3 Ability Points and the Golden Suit Outfit. Enter the room with the roulette table in it. Next to it is a whiteboard that tells you which items need to be activated. The goal of the puzzle is to have the TV set next to the roulette table show the same number indicated by the latter, 7.
- Turn all the desk lights on;
- In the other room is a small plant. Take it and plant it on the white vase next to the TV set;
- Activate the Newton’s cradles (the swinging marbles sets);
- Activate the beckoning cat;
- Ignore the horseshoe (this may not be required; if required, play with both positions, both could work);
- Pick up the fish with Launch and “drop” it next to the roulette table (this step may not be required);
- Interact with the roulette.
- Active Threshold
In Central Research is an area infested by Mold. Near it is big hole in the ground you can only access after unlocking Levitate. While you play through the Side Missions for Dr. Underhill you’ll reach a really wide area. To the right of it is the entrance to a restroom. Enter it to find a hole in the ceiling. Levitate to it.
- Active Threshold
Fast Travel to the Control Point called “Active Threshold” and levitate to the highest alcove in this area.
Containment
- Logistics
Fast travel to the Control Point called “Logistics”. Face the US map and look above. Levitate to this hole on the ceiling.
- Firebreak
In Containment there’s a wide corridor leading you to the Panopticon. Levitate to the room found on one of its sides.
- Upper Panopticon
Found in the same area where you cleansed the Traffic Light (Fortified Unit 716, 4th Floor). From the spot where you cleansed it last, use a combination of Levitate + Evade to progress further towards the light.
- Upper Panopticon
Levitate all the way up to the fifth floor. Facing the swan, stop by the forklift and look all the way to your left. There’s a small alcove in the wall you can access with some rubble inside. The alcove is next to a large window with two five’s next to it.
- Transit Corridor South
A room above in the wall, south of the Control Point, you can Evade into. Needless to say, you need Levitate as well.
Special thanks to Mr_PaNtsONh3aD & Tidux for helping with the hidden locations.
Those were all 20 Hidden Locations in Control.
ace 1 says
cant get up that stupid pillar
FranciRoosters says
Not all of them are necessary for the platinum. If you’re having a hard time, get easier ones.
Llohr says
I didn’t even use ground slam. I levitated, then jumped off a floating dude’s head.
Zane says
Drop vending machine then Jump/Levitate off that in midair.
Obscene says
How do you get to this one: Pump Station (near the Janitor’s Office)
I’ve spent an hour going in circles looking for the bridge you described but it’s just not there.
Enter the office and open the door on the left. Continue on until you reach a fan / sewers area. There’s a dead end here overlooking some Astral Plane bridges.
So it doesnt matter if I enter the right or left door, they both lead to the same place. The only sewers/fan looking room I can find just past the Janitor is at the bottom of the elevator.
You haven’t included any pictures for that one either. Unless it’s part of the building that changes during the story (I’m on Mission 5 atm) then so just don’t have a clue.
FranciRoosters says
Updated with pics.
Obscene says
Yeah that door definitely isn’t there for me yet in my game. The Janitor is still there for me aswell so it must be tied to story progress. Thanks for updating the guide & adding the pictures.
FranciRoosters says
Like it is said in the roadmap, Hidden Locations are meant to be part of the endgame activities. Some locations can’t be accessed until you’ve played through certain missions and have unlocked the Levitate Ability.
Obscene says
I already have all the powers including levitate which is why I’ve been backtracking through the game looking for secrets. I found a large number but suspected there would be more so I looked online & found there were several I hadn’t found.
Until you uploaded the pictures it wasn’t clear at all where the one I asked about was so I don’t see what the problem is.
FranciRoosters says
Sorry, it wasn’t clear from your comment if you had finished the game/unlocked Levitate. Glad the pictures helped you out. Thanks for checking out the guides. ;-)
Martin says
Wow. So ungrateful.
Godrick says
Just for that luck and probability. I think regardless items activated, you must turn on rulette and take step out of red lined area :))
FranciRoosters says
I don’t remember taking a step back, but if it helped that’s good.
jakeinator21 says
When I did it, I got 8 when I was standing outside the carpet, so I stayed on the carpet the second time and it gave me seven. So I guess it depends on what other things you’ve triggered in the rooms.
ANDERSON says
Has one more hidden location on the Mold Pit Area. Near the first control point of this area.
Taylor says
This was very helpful. I had no idea that there was another hidden room in the place where you bound the horse. Very concise and easy to use, thank you.
FranciRoosters says
Thanks so much!
Bubbi says
For the first one in Upper Panopticon, it should be where you cleansed the Benicoff TV not the Traffic Light.
Mara Holiday says
Correction: You cleanse the TV AND the Traffic Light there. As these are meant for the Endgame stuff (IE: After you beat the main missions) It’s safe to say that some people have done BOTH already.
Michael says
There is 1 more I’ve found in the Containment Sector behind a hidden wall. It contains 2 containers.
BodyChipper says
The roulette table only gave me 2 points, not 3, unless it’s based on random probability.
Spaceknight says
I’ve got a better explanation of the Roulette wheel.
There’s a whiteboard that shows the different lucky items. When you spin the wheel, the TV will show the wheel’s result, which matches how many lucky items you used. Your goal is 7, to match the 7 bet on the table.
The items on the board are:
1 Elephant, which means activate the Newton’s Cradle near it. (The other Newton on the other side of the room has no effect.)
2 Cat.
3 Clover; move it to the vase near the TV.
4 Desk lamps.
5 Horseshoe open-side up. (Notice the instructions near the horseshoe, so opposite the way its drawn on the whiteboard in the roulette room.)
6 Fish within 2 feet of the wheel.
7 Stand off the red carpet when it stops spinning.
What’s strange, and why it may seem the fish or horseshoe is not required, is that the clover is counting as 2 for me. This may be permanent, or maybe I glitched it when I picked up and replaced the clover in the original vase? No idea. The plan, however, should be simple: do it all, and if you spin an 8 just stand on the carpet for the next spin.

Thank you so much ???
Mr. X says
Just an FYI but I strongly recommend you do these hidden locations AFTER doing all the missions & most side-missions (at least 15). I just had a bit of a spook awhile ago.. Basically I tried picking up all of these hidden locations while still in the main story.. No problems there.
However, once I was left with only 3-4 side-quests I noticed that I was no longer getting ANY points for the mission completions.. For example, one of the “Clear the mold” missions only completed itself but gave me no rewards or ability points even though I checked other YouTube videos and they were getting 3 ability points for completion.
It wasn’t until I got down to the last two missions that both rewarded me with 4 ability points each and I was able to finally obtain the “Master Parautilitarian” trophy. I was worried I was going to have to forfeit the platinum for this game due to this issue.
Kim says
There is 2 more
Muhammad says
Please tell where are they I just need one more
Joseph says
So I finished the game got the trophies and everything but I was not able to max out my skill tree. I still need 35 ability points!!!
I have done all the side missions and everything and discoverd all hidden locations.
I got the plat but I’m just surprised.
Will says
Trophy just says use 100 ability points, idk if that makes a difference
Richard Liu says
OK so I beat the game, finished every single side quests, killed all hidden bosses, throw all TVs into furnace, played roulette, and I still didn’t get platinum. So I visited 18 out of 20 places listed above to finally get that spend 100 skill pts trophy and plat. So anyone who claimed that you can get trophy without these hidden places or DLC, he is lying.
Also, that pillar in Executive Affair is unreachable for me, because **YOU CAN’T GROUND SLAM UP**. Ground slam circle will only appear when the aiming point is about 10 degrees below horizontal line. Not sure whether it’s changed in March update but all gaming guides including this one are not applicable. So far the only way to go up there is stepping on the floating man’s back, but their position are not fixed in each play through. In my play through there is no one floating inside that space, so it’s unreachable for me.
Max says
There is also a trick were you stack up three brown vending machines on top of a file cabinet on the backside of the column. Took me a while.
Jan says
28 missions, 10 secret locations completed and 50 upgrade points missing 🙁
Cody Henson says
I realise things may have changed in control from when this article was published and when I started playing the game but there are 100% more than 20 hidden locations in the game. I just found my 3rd hidden location in the shifted passages area of the investigations sectore that was/is not listed anywhere on any article/website I can find. I should have saved where I found the 1st two but I’ll try to remember where they were and let everyone know.
Joe says
Does anyone know if you can start the DLC stuff and have those ability points count towards the platinum??
FranciRoosters says
You can, they do.
