Introduction

Welcome to the Chernobylite Trophy Guide (Achievement Guide)! This is an incredibly easy and straightforward platinum because all trophies come automatically from the story. You just need to watch out that you recruit all 4 optional teammates, but even if you miss this you can change your story choices retroactively whenever you die, so nothing is missable. When you die you go to the “afterlife dimension” and spend Chernobylite to change any story decisions from earlier. Then you revive at the same day/quest when you died, you don’t need to replay the story. All teammates are met automatically in the story and you get a dialogue to recruit them or to send them away. Always choose to recruit them. The game is divided into 25 days, basically the chapters. Each day has a main quest, after finishing it you use the Portal Generator to return to your base, here you can spend the evening to build new items and learn new skills from teammates, then go to bed, then wake up the next day and play another main quest. There is no big connected open world. Instead, it is divided into multiple small districts that are disconnected from each other. Each quest takes place in one district only. You can collect resources during quests and use them to build out your base and craft better gear. There are no side quests, no Collectibles, no difficulty-related trophies, nothing missable.

Step 1: Play through the Story, Recruit All 4 Team Members

There is only one step: finish the story and you’ll have the Platinum Trophy! All trophies are automatic story-related unlocks.

There are 3 types of trophies but they all come from the story: anything related to finishing quests refers to main story quests (there are no side quests), anything related to investigations is part of the story (flashback sequences), anything else is for building things at your base which you’ll do naturally over the course of the game. Each story quest gives one trophy. It doesn’t matter on what difficulty you play, you can pick Very Easy if you like. You can change the difficulty from the pause menu at any time.

The game is split into “days” which are basically the “chapters”. Each day has a main quest that lasts about 30 minutes on average (x25 days total = Around 12 Hours).

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Always accept all quests, be nice to everyone you meet and agree to help them (you get quests over the radio when leaving your base each morning).
  • Recruit all 4 team members (Mikhail, Olga, Tarakan, Sashko)! You meet them automatically in main story quests. After their quests you get a dialogue to recruit them. Technically, you could tell them to not join you but there’s an easy fix, see the next point.
  • All story decisions (including team recruitments) can be changed after you die. This costs Chernobylite which you can craft at the Chernobylite Synthesizer in your base. Because you can reset and change any past choices nothing is missable.
  • Each day you can send your teammates on resource gathering quests. Craft fully upgraded weapons and armor and give it to your teammates to improve their chances (upgraded Revolver & Camouflage Armor is sufficient). To avoid injuries don’t send them on overly dangerous quests that have less than 80% success chance. Try to keep up their morale by giving them 1 food per day, max out comfort, air quality, radiation protection in your base to improve their psyche.
  • Whenever you have a dialogue choice to kill someone or let them live, always choose to let them live – this is generally better to not upset any of your teammates. Killing enemies (armed humans and monsters) is fine.
  • Do the board investigations whenever they become available because they each give a trophy (you get a warning before going to bed if one is available). They can still be done later at any time, so it’s no problem if you don’t do them immediately.
  • It’s recommended to do the optional objectives during your first visit to each region (marked “?” icons on map). They can lead to clues for the investigation board trophies and other useful resources.

In summary: Be nice to everyone you meet, accept all quests you’re offered, go to all optional map markers, recruit all 4 team members, don’t lose any team members.

Worst case, if you’d mess up something important, you could reset the bad decisions retroactively on your next death. Then in your next life everything will be fine.

Story Decisions (only important ones, dialogues not listed don’t matter)

Below is the exact Roadmap day by day. The choices I made are highlighted in green, which is what has been tested and proven to get platinum in 1 playthrough without having to reset any story decisions. Note that you can kill yourself (or use the Radiation Chamber) to reset any story decision in the “afterlife”. So basically, you can’t mess up anything permanently.

  1. Day 1: Play any of the 5 available quests, it doesn’t matter which one and there are no important decisions here.
  2. Day 2: Hacking into NAR servers – Trophy: Heart is a lonely hunter [During radio call in the morning: Agree to do his mission –> Halfway through the quest: Consider other Options > Wipe out NAR server]

Chernobylite Trophy Guide

Chernobylite Communion
Earn every trophy
Earn all other trophies in Chernobylite to unlock Platinum.
Broken cycle
Reach one of the game endings
Automatic story-related trophy. Complete “The Heist” mission, which is the big board in your hideout next to the binoculars where you select the quests each day. How “The Heist” turns out doesn’t matter, you get the trophy with any ending. The Heist board says that it requires 5/5 teammates, 5/5 tools acquired, 4/4 investigations conducted (investigation boards in your bedroom) – all of these come automatically from story progress. Even though it says 5 teammates on the Heist board you can actually start it with fewer team members, so it’s okay if you lost someone during the story. Should you have accidentally started The Heist before finishing the Day 24 trophy-related quest, you can simply choose “Load Game” and reload the automatic save from the start of the day, then it puts you back before The Heist and you can keep playing.
Dark tourist
Recruit Mikhail
  • Day 2: “Hacking into NAR servers” quest – Mikhail will call you over the radio when leaving your base and offers a quest. Accept it and select it from mission select (marked as red main quest). Follow Mikhail’s instructions throughout the quest (Halfway through the quest: Consider other Options > Wipe out NAR server).
  • Day 3: You get another call from Mikhail and for quest “Mikhail in Trouble”. Complete this quest and at the end select “Ask him to join You”. This will recruit him.

If you accidentally clicked on the wrong dialogue and denied him to join your team, you can either reload the last Autosave or change your decision later at any point after dying.

Queen of the forest
Recruit Olga
  • Day 8: A Voice in the Woods – Olga will call you in the morning of Day 8 and offers a quest. Be sure to select it from the mission list (marked as red main quest). At the end of the quest, pick dialogue “Ask her to join you”.

If you accidentally clicked on the wrong dialogue and denied her to join your team, you can either reload the last Autosave or change your decision later at any point after dying.

Thief in law
Recruit Sashko
  • Day 18: The final exam – During this quest you will meet Sashko in a building and he asks you to jump out of the window. Jump out and pick dialogue “Ask him to join you”.

If you accidentally clicked on the wrong dialogue and denied him to join your team, you can either reload the last Autosave or change your decision later at any point after dying.

King of mice
Recruit Tarakan
  • Day 12: The Crumb Trail – On Day 12, you get Tarakan’s 3rd story quest where you must rescue him. Afterward, pick dialogue option “Ask him to join you” and the trophy will unlock. Your choices in the previous quests don’t matter.

If you accidentally clicked on the wrong dialogue and denied him to join your team, you can either reload the last Autosave or change your decision later at any point after dying.

Wounded warrior

Before the mission when leaving your hideout you can choose “Attempt to kidnap Kozlov”  or “Decide to kill Kozlov” which will lead to one quest or the other, but for the purpose of this trophy it doesn’t matter which one you choose. Personally, I chose “Attempt to kidnap Kozlov”, which is the recommended option as it’s what has been tested to get platinum in 1 playthrough without messing anything up.
Black mask wearing …
Finish “Power plant” quest
Prologue: Automatic story-related trophy, unlocks during the Prologue.
You cannot change the past
Change your memory for the first time
Day 10: Automatic story-related trophy. On Day 10 when you go to the Quest Select screen you will get killed by an explosion – this is part of the normal story progress. Then you come to an afterlife dimension and have to interact with a big cube that lets you change a past memory in exchange for some Chernobylite which unlocks the trophy. You can find Chernobylite at some “?” question mark icons on the map or by crafting it at the Chernobylite Synthesizer in your base.
Rat trap
Finish “Old Documents” quest
Day 5: Automatic story-related trophy, this is the main quest on Day 5.
Armed and dangerous
Modify any weapon
At your base you must build a weapon upgrade station (e.g. Igor’s Inventory > Weapon Smith > Revolver Calibration Tools), then using that upgrade station you can make modifications to your weapons. For example, you can modify the magazine size to earn this trophy.
Industrial age
Gain access to the second tier of structures in the base
At your base you must enter the building menu and go to Base Upgrades > Building Tools > Laser Cutting Machine. Building this unlocks the trophy and allows you to build Tier 2 structures.
Chernobylite age
Gain access to the third tier of base structures
At your base you must enter the building menu and go to Base Upgrades > Building Tools > Chernobylite-Powered Tools. Building this unlocks the trophy and allows you to build Tier 3 structures.
Conspiracy
Complete “Conspiracy” Board Investigation
There are 4 Investigation Boards:

  • Conspiracy (4 Facts, 7 Clues)
  • Web of Lies (3 Facts, 6 Clues)
  • Black Stalker (3 Facts, 5 Clues)
  • Woman in Red Dress (3 Facts, 4 Clues) – unlocked after the first 3 investigation boards are done

All the Investigation Boards are found in Igor’s Room at your base, on the wall across from your bed where you go to sleep each night.

After obtaining enough Facts and Clues you will get a warning before going to bed that says a Simulation is ready. Interact with the Investigation Board and click “Run Simulation” in the bottom right corner. This will play a flashback and skips time to the next morning. You don’t need ALL the clues, having half of them is enough, but you do need all of the Facts. You get the Facts automatically from main story quests, can’t miss them. Clues are found at green “?” Question Mark Icons on the map. While not every “?” icon leads to a clue (they can also lead to loot etc), all clues are behind such “?” icons on the map. Around a fifth of the “?” icons are clues. They are all marked automatically on the map, just make sure you clear out all of these on each visit to a region. You can visit a different region each day. The main quests take you to all regions automatically. You must finish one board before you can run the simulation on the next board. So in summary; simply complete main quests and go to all these “?” map-icons along the way and you’ll get enough Facts and Clues to complete the boards.

Here’s a picture of the board in Igor’s Room at your base (room where you go to sleep each night):

Accept it. Then in Day 2 mission select you will have the new main mission called “Hacking into NAR servers”. It will be marked as a main mission with a red exclamation point. Complete this main quest.

    Hey guys,
bringing you this trophy guide 1 month early! Currently, the trophy list doesn’t sync with PSN servers yet, hence the guide doesn’t have the trophy icons in it yet. I’ll reformat it with trophy icons when the list goes live. PS4 version releases September 07, 2021 and the PS5 version later at some point. On PC it’s already out.

Pretty unique game, cool concept and looks fantastic. The trophy list is a breeze too, everything comes automatically from the story like Telltale games and doesn’t take very long. I recommend it.

There is absolutely one miserable trophy… I had to go back to a very old safe and redo four missions.

The only way to get “the lady in the red dress” facts is by getting all four clues.

    • PowerPyx says

By miserable do you mean missable?
But how is getting 4 clues for that missable? I got that required stuff automatically as far as I could tell.

Thank you for the trophy guide. I can’t believe that you’ve released this trophy guide so early since this isn’t coming out on PS4 until early September. I wasn’t even sure this game would get a trophy guide since September is such a busy month so I’m glad it’s out.

This game doesn’t seem to be as similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R as I’d hope but I still think it’s the type of game I’ll enjoy especially when the Platinum trophy isn’t unreasonable.
Considering the game has a PS4 physical edition (releasing on 10th September 2021) that costs about £25 (or less) and the length is 10 to 20 hours to achieve the Platinum trophy, definitely seems like it’ll be the next game I want to play unless I find out that the PS4 version all of a sudden has game-breaking or trophy-breaking bugs after launch (like Necromunda: Hired Gun).

Unfortunately, Chernobylite on PS4 and Xbox One has been delayed to 28th September and 1st October (in Europe) due to “unforseen issues”. Usually I don’t mind delays but this one is annoying because it was so close to releasing on 7th/10th September.

Guess I’ll be playing Tales of Arise after Scarlet Nexus (as long as it turns out to be good and the Platinum trophy is fine). Would’ve preferred Chernobylite to be in between the 2 JRPGs but as long it’s polished on release it’ll be worth the delay.

I made this guide using the Steam version which is already out. So don’t know how it runs on PS5 until it releases for consoles.

For the Investigations you have noted the Facts are automatic through the story yet i have completed all but the final mission and still missing 5 facts?

Any idea how i can figure out how i can get the ones i need?

That sounds like a bug tbh. Should be getting all Facts from story automatically. If any of your story choices differ from the ones outlayed in Roadmap, try changing them accordingly, but it *shouldn’t* matter.

I also collected all Clues across all maps, which are all automatically marked by “?” icons. But these only give clues and not facts.

This Game ist totally Broken on ps5…when you die and try to Change your past, the Game Crash and the savefile is erase from the console…when you Upload your savefile then it can happen that it is lost…i Played after that on ps4 and the Last Board Woman in the Red Dress ist missable after you beat the Story…even if you try to Change the past or forget the memories nothing happens…the Game is on the Same Results than before…you can’t get the facts and Clues…you get the Last Board after Mission black Stalker and all Clues you find before it didn’t Count and you can’t get them afterwards because the Storymissions are Not replayable…

The right call is missable because this mission will only be available if you kidnapped Kozlov and then let him go.

Kozlov will contact you via the base’s radio giving you this mission.

I will try to replicate this, thanks for reporting. Changing those decisions retroactively doesn’t open up the mission at all? Normally you can change anything important in the “afterlife”.

Confirmed this is not missable you can trigger the mission by changing the decision and passing a few days.

One thing I did notice are the days are completely random. You get the same missions, and they appear in the same order for the mission tree, but they can appear randomly. My second day was The Traitor. I didn’t get hack the NAR until day 7 or 8 I believe.

Just a warning to anyone who’s interested in playing the game or even playing the game right now: this game still has the save file corruption that was supposed to be fixed in the big October console patch. I went to sleep on Day 17 and when it was loading into Day 18, I got a PlayStation screen that said the save file was corrupted but it didn’t crash, so even though all saves up until that point were gone, I was able to create multiple manual checkpoint saves after I woke up.

If you’re on PS4 and have a USB, I recommend backing up your save file after every play session (regardless of the game) just in case a situation like this happens. PS5 still doesn’t allow for backing up save files onto a USB (only PlayStation Plus Cloud available), so I hope Sony adds that feature soon.

At the moment the game is unplatinable on PS4 (I don’t know about PS5) as the “conspiracy” trophy probably doesn’t appear due to a bug. I have restarted the game several times trying to uninstall and delete the saves, but it doesn’t solve the problem.

I can’t find any other solutions online

Even uninstalling the game and deleting all saves doesn’t solve the problem, it will definitely be a bug in the new patch, hoping they fix the problem sooner or later.

PS5 digital version, US. I didn’t have any troubles with anything in the game. Got the plat in one playthrough with looking at the few choices in this guide. I didn’t have any crashes or problems getting any trophy. 8/10 game for me.
