Welcome to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022, PS4/PS5) Trophy Guide! This is the new 2022 version of COD MW2 on PS4 & PS5. The game has an incredibly quick, easy, and simple trophy list compared to some other Call of Duty games. There are only 25 Trophies, of that 18 are in the Campaign and 6 in Co-Op (+1 being the Platinum trophy). As usual in COD, you can use checkpoint restart for the Chapter-specific trophies. You can also back up your save into PS+ Cloud (PS5) or on USB (PS4) before trophy-relevant sections, this way you don’t need to replay the mission each time from scratch if something goes wrong. The campaign consists of 17 short missions. Of that, some missions only consist of controlling drones or doing some sneaking/sniping, therefore much of the Veteran playthrough isn’t difficult because not all missions involve direct combat. Beating the game on the highest difficulty “Realism” is not required, only the 2nd highest difficulty “Veteran”. You can start your first playthrough on Veteran and work on Chapter-specific trophies along the way. Some of them are a bit tricky to do on Veteran (due to dying quicker), so feel free to leave the harder trophies and come back later on Recruit via Mission Select. There are no regular Collectibles to look out for, only 3 Safes, but you can get them via Chapter Select if one was missed. They are included in the trophy roadmap below.
Step 1: Finish Story on Veteran + Chapter-specific Trophies
Beat the campaign on Veteran. Along the way, do the Chapter-specific Trophies, all are listed below in chronological order. If you find one trophy too difficult on Veteran, you can replay it later on Rookie difficulty via Mission Select. Alternatively, if you want to have an easier experience and don’t mind 2 playthroughs, you could do a run on Rookie first to grab all Chapters-specific trophies, then you will already know map layouts and enemy placements for Veteran.

Step 2: Co-Op Trophies
After the campaign trophies are done, you only have the 6 Co-Op Trophies left. Mainly, get 3 Stars in the Co-Op Missions “Low Profile”, “Denied Area”, “Defender: Mt. Zaya”. Also get 20 intel fragments (Collectibles) via Co-Op.

Mission 17: Countdown At the very start of Mission 17, you will rappel down a skyscraper. There will be 3 floors with enemies holding hostages. You will be upside down, at the windows outside the building. You must wait until groups of 2-3 enemies line up, then kill them with 1 shot. They don’t need to be headshots, firing 2-3 quick shots at their upper body will suffice. You have to finish all 3 floors without any enemy firing their weapon. If they do fire a bullet, restart the checkpoint to retry. There’s a checkpoint at each floor. |

Mission 13: Alone During the entire mission you aren’t allowed to fire any guns. You can pick up guns, but DON’T press Using melee is allowed. Play on recruit difficulty for this. You can do as many melee kills as you want. After getting the knife and moving on to the next area (after dropping down, area where you disarm shotgun trap), open the lockbox in the left corner of the area. It contains adrenaline which lets you run faster for the rest of the mission, makes it much easier. If you’ve reached the room where you must disarm the shotgun trap (mandatory), go back outside where you came from, the lockbox is just before that. In the next enemy section after disarming the shotgun trap, you can go through the shops on the left and climb up to the balcony to find crafting materials for a smoke bomb. Then you can throw the smoke bomb at the group of enemies and run through them without getting hit. Alternatively, you can throw lots of bottles to lure them away, then quickly run past them all. You could also try luring them into the shops one by one to do melee kills until the area is clear. After you pry open a door and an enemy knocks you down, Ghost will start shooting enemies from the church for you. Here you must reach the church where Ghost is, then backtrack to where you came from to find an exfil vehicle. This is a big open area with lots of enemies. Mission 10: Violence and Timing In Mission 10 you will first fly in a helicopter. After the Helicopter section you will hang upside down, then you land on the roof of a truck. Here the trophy section starts, you can now hijack and drive vehicles. You do this by climbing on their roof (press For the trophy you must drive 5 DIFFERENT types of vehicles, it doesn’t count multiple of the same type. There are 4 military vehicles: Big transport truck, smaller truck with lots of enemies on the back, pickup truck with enemies on it, Hummers with turrets on it. Mission 11: El Sin Nombre After the interrogation at the start of Mission 11, you will go in an elevator, then you are handed a mask and can freely walk around the mansion. This is where the trophy section starts. From here you are now allowed to get spotted until you reach the elevator and take it down to the 3rd floor. The trophy pops after exiting the elevator to the 3rd floor. As usual, checkpoint restart is allowed if you get spotted. From where you can start walking, head straight and then turn left into the little backyard. Here at the very end you can climb through the open window (thus skipping the guard who is blocking the staircase). From here go upstairs, enter the corridor straight ahead, then enter the first door on the right. After going through the door, jump onto the balcony in front of you, on the balcony go to the right side to find a ladder, climb it up to the roof. There are 3 enemies patrolling the roof. Stay on the left side of the area, let the guard on the left walk past you. There are two guards on the right, throw bottles to distract them (2 bottles found at start of this section). Then sneak past them to the right end, go up the ladder to the roof. On the roof enter the only door on the right, this lets you drop down into the elevator. Push the yellow “Down” button and after a few seconds hit the red “Stop” button when you reach Floor 3. Interact with the emergency lock on the elevator door to Floor 3. After you step out the elevator the trophy will pop if you remained in stealth and didn’t cause an alarm. |

Mission 12: Dark Water A few minutes into the mission, you will be driving in a motorboat with your teammates (story cutscene, unmissable). After this, the boat crashes against the deck of a bigger ship. Here the trophy section starts. You have to cross the entire deck without ever touching the ground. You have to jump from one moving container to the next to do this. The containers are moving left and right. Take it slow and wait until the next container has moved close to you. Repeat as you jump from one to the next. There is no time limit so just watch how the containers are moving around and always jump to the closest one. At the very end, jump to the crate furthest left, from there you can climb to the upper floor of the ship (just one floor above the deck). Run towards the stairs and the trophy will pop when reaching the stairs. As usual, Checkpoint Restart is allowed if you make a mistake. Also kill the enemies along the way. Because you won’t have any cover while on the crates, this should be done on Recruit difficulty, as you’d die too quickly on Veteran. |

Mission 10: Violence and Timing In Mission 10 you will first fly in a helicopter. After the Helicopter section you will hang upside down, then you land on the roof of a truck. Jump over to the pickup truck on the right, pick up the assault rifle, then hijack this vehicle by holding Now stay in this same vehicle until you reach the front of the convoy (takes about 5 minutes) and the objective changes to “Board Captain Price’s Cargo Truck”. Now hold This trophy is best done on Recruit difficulty. You can lean out of your vehicle with You are allowed to restart checkpoints if needed. |

Throw a flashbang, shoot one of them in the foot, quickly grab the shield he drops (throw more flashbangs to distract the enemies if necessary), then melee the 3 remaining enemies with the Riot Shield |

Simply blind yourself by throwing a flashbang of your own, then kill two enemies while blinded by it. It hasn’t have to be a flashbang thrown by enemies that blinds you, can use your own. A good spot for it is Mission 6: Cartel Protection, at the very start of the section. The first enemy encounter is a few seconds into the mission. Throw a flashbang in front of you to blind yourself and them too, then throw a semtex grenade and also shoot around. You can do it anywhere else of course, but this spot works nicely because it’s at the very start of a mission and you spawn with the correct types of grenades. |

Mission 16: Ghost Team During the objective “Destroy the Tank” you can free-roam in a target practice range. There are you must shoot all 33 practice targets. Follow the video, pause it after each target, go shoot the target and pause your game, unpause the video, shoot next target, unpause game, and repeat. Do it one by one until you have all 33 targets in one run. When restarting the checkpoint it resets your target counter to zero. So you must shoot them all again if you die. You are constantly being hunted by a tank and enemies in this area. This trophy is best done on Recruit. On Veteran you would die too often. |

Mission 12: Dark Water At the start of the mission, after killing the first 2 enemies, you will reunite with your teammates and have to go up a set of stairs. While going upstairs, you can see two blue porta-potties, to the right of where an enemy comes out a door. Shoot the left porta-potty, a hidden enemy is in it. This will pop the trophy. |

Mission 3: Wetwork This takes place at the very start of the mission. You have to kill all enemies in the starting area at the boat docks without alerting enemies. From where you start, kill the first enemy directly in front of you, grab his pistol. Now you basically want go through the area in a big circle, counter-clockwise, and take out the enemies one by one. You can make use of checkpoint restart of you get spotted. Kill the people in the patrolling boats last, after all enemies at the docks are dead. You can press Touchpad to see a white waypoint to the next group of enemies. This helps you find them. |

Mission 14: Prison Break Early in this mission you will automatically come to a point where you have to interact with a computer to control a CCTV (mandatory story part). In the CCTV section you must command Ghost where you want him to go. The goal is to place 4 explosive charges on vehicles. Ghost can’t get spotted or else enemies will kill him. For this trophy you must complete the entire section within 4 minutes. On the first attempt this is tricky to do, you need to get familiar with the controls and CCTV placements first. Do a normal run first, then restart the mission to focus on this, now you will know the enemy placements and what to do. The time limit is very tight on this. A perfect run will take about 3:40 minutes. Meaning you have about 20 seconds to spare. Command Ghost from one spot to the next, and don’t forget to place the explosives on the marked cars along the way. Kill only the enemies you must, and if possible shoot the enemies instead of melee kills (faster). Instead of commanding Ghost from a single cover point to the nearest one, command him to move further in one go (e.g. instead of one wall to the next, have him move 2 or 3 walls at once). This further cuts out animation time of him leaning in and out of multiple cover. You can also pause the game, watch the next part of the video, then unpause and copy the moves bit by bit. Pausing doesn’t count towards the time. |

Mission 14: Prison Break In Mission 14, you automatically start with all types of grenades in your inventory: Flashbang, Tear Gas, Frag, Semtex, Molotov. This trophy is best done after the CCTV section, after you’re inside the prison and engage in combat with big groups of enemies. Throw Teargas (not Flashbangs) to stun them. The Teargas lasts longer than Flashbangs! Then throw a Frag. Throw another Tear Gas and switch to throwing Semtex. Then a third Tear Gas and throw a Moltov. You can change the grenades by holding |

| Complete the entire campaign (All 17 Missions) on Veteran difficulty. Veteran is the 2nd highest difficulty. It’s available from the beginning.
On Veteran the enemies are much more accurate, throw more grenades, and you die much faster. Many parts are more for storytelling purposes or stealth/controlling drones/controlling cameras/other gadgets, rather than combat. Just stay in cover, quickly peak out of cover to take out one enemy and repeat. If you platinumed previous Call of Duty games, then you shouldn’t have much trouble on Veteran. If you find it too difficult, do a run on Recruit first, then you’ll already know the map layouts and enemy spawns and Veteran will feel easier. |

Mission 9: Recon by Fire During this mission there will be 2 Sniping sections where the distance to the enemies is displayed at the top of the screen and Captain Price tells you how many notches to aim higher to account for the bullet drop at that distance. During those 2 Sniping sections, you must land every shot and not have your kills seen by other soldiers. Getting spotted in other enemy encounters is fine and doesn’t void the trophy, only the two Sniping sections have an “alarm”. You are allowed to restart checkpoints too. The first encounter is when you reach the first enemy camp. You will be overlooking the camp. Use your Sniper Rifle, zoom in, and take out each group of enemies. Captain Price will assist you, when there are two enemies together he will shoot one of the two when you fire at the other. When he says to aim 2 notches above the enemy you must aim higher above the enemy to account for bullet drop (notches are the black vertical lines in your scope). He will also tell you when not to shoot at an enemy, when other soldiers are looking at that person and would see the kill. Start by taking out the soldiers at the outer edges of the camp. There are 3 groups that have 3 enemies each. For them you must run around the area to line up 2 enemies with one shot. Do the double kill and Captain Price will kill the third enemy in the group. After clearing out all enemies, you have to run down to the camp search two buildings. Being spotted by the armored enemies that arrive in cars and the enemies inside the buildings is fine. This doesn’t trigger any alarms. The second encounter is a little bit later when you reach the lighthouse. There is another enemy camp at the lighthouse. It’s the same principle as the first encounter, but this time the enemies have body armor and helmets. Do headshots only. The armored guys will die in 1 headshot. But if you hit their upper body they won’t die in one shot and will run away, this could alert other enemies, but Price will try to kill them quickly before that happens. If someone doesn’t die instantly but Price kills them before an alarm is triggered it’s fine and you can continue. Again, you will have to line up one group of 3 enemies, killing two in one bullet. On the right side there will also be 3 enemies close together, 2 of them are walking around, kill them when they’ve walked away from the third enemy. The trophy pops immediately after killing the last enemy at the Lighthouse sniping section. Note: if you repeat the mission via Mission Select, it may pop after the first Sniping section if you already finish the 2nd section stealthily in a previous playthrough. |

Going Dark Complete ‘Low Profile’ without triggering any alarms. |

| *Online Co-Op Trophy*
For this you have to finish the online cooperative map ‘Low Profile’ without causing an alarm. This is a 2-player stealth mission that takes place at night. It’s better to get a friend to help out for this one instead of the random matchmaking. The trophy will unlock after clearing objectives A+B+C, before going to the Exil Point. You don’t have to finish the mission for it, the trophy unlocks right away when the Exil objective comes up. You are also allowed to use the “Retry” function to restart from last checkpoint. So if you are spotted, simply have both players die, then in the next screen choose “retry” and it will respawn you from the last checkpoint. Then simply replay from there. In some cases, the trophy can even unlock if you were spotted during the first two objectives, then died and restarted checkpoint, and then do the third objective before an alarm goes off. Even if you were spotted previously, dying and choosing “retry” somehow makes the game forget you were spotted previously. It’s unclear if this method works 100% reliably all the time but that’s how it unlocked for me and worth a try if you find it too difficult doing it legit. Normally, if you try it legit, you can hold |

There are 50 Intel Fragment Collectibles in the 3 Co-Op Missions (20 in ‘Low Profile’, 20 in ‘Denied Area’, 10 in ‘Defender: Mt. Zaya’). When you click on the mission and then on “Intel” it only shows 10 in the first 2 missions but there are actually 20 in them, but the third mission only has 10. For this trophy you only need 20 of 50 intel fragment collectibles, meaning you can skip any 30. There will also be more intel from DLC co-op missions releasing in the future. See the guides below for the Intel locations:

Near the end of this section there will be mines on the road, avoid them, they deal a lot of damage to your car. The mines have a red glow to see them more easily. They are mainly on the road, there are fewer when you drive on the side of the road in the dirt. Shoot the truck with the enemies throwing the mines.
. You don’t need to use Flashbangs at all. You also don’t need to throw the 3 kill-grenades in one use of Tear Gas, it’s done over separate uses. You can kill one enemy at a time, doesn’t need to be multiple in one go.
Star Rewards > in the top left it shows your personal best and what each star is for. Alternatively, while playing the mission you can press Touchpad

Does the old Veteran checkpoint exploit work as far as you know? The one where you can basically play in recruit and then change it to Veteran on the final checkpoint, go to the main menu and then finish the final checkpoint on Veteran?
Haven’t tried it yet. But if someone wants to test, would be good to have confirmation on it.
It’s not possible. I tested it at the end of the “Recon by Fire” mission. I moved to recruit after the checkpoint and went back to veteran before the game to do another checkpoint and did not count veteran for the mission.

For the gunless are you able to use the crossbow in the safe? I got the gunless trophy already but I’m curious if you were allowed to use it since it is technically not a gun and doesn’t have bullets.

Yes you can use the crossbow. I just did it today and it triggered the trophy. Makes sense though, it’s not a gun.
For the No Time to Lose trophy you are able to pause the game at anytime during the CCTV sequence. The pause doesn’t count as part of the minutes. When I did it I paused the game watched a YouTube video for 20 seconds and just kept repeating that.

Very easy Daredevil trophy on Prison Break mission. Later in the chapter when the first truck shows up you planted an explosive on, immediately flashbang yourself, detonate, trophy.
Is there online match making for the co-op trophies or does it have to be PSN friends only?

Can’t say for sure yet about the online trophies because those aren’t obtainable until game is released. But for story trophies, no, they don’t autopop.

I did all the missions on vetern difficulty but
On mission select ، it said that i just did 4 missions
On highest difficulty compeleted : vetern
Highest difficulty compeleted : is empty
On others !!!!
It said nothing , like i didn’t complete missions at all !!!
I replayed some missions but it didn’t change .
I didn’t get the trophy either.

Having Same issues, it’s bug also some missions doesn’t even show up in mission select after completion so hopefully they fix that in near feature updates.

Just killed like 4 enemies whilst blinded and nothing
For the trophy “Don’t touch the deck” you can jump on the first red container on the right (near were the speedboat crashed) and jump on the the red and rusty pipes). Then continue using the containers, the pipes and side platforms. In 2 minutes it’s done ;)
The Mission Alone when you you come across the knife that ghost left in the dead soldier Seems it has 2 spawn locations as the knife didn’t show in the 1st location but across where the guard is standing there’s another dead soldier inside and it appeared on him I only noticed this on higher difficulty .
Yes I faced the same thing in Veteran difficulty. The knife spawns at a different place

For going dark trophy, if you die after each objective the trophy will pop. I don’t know if it’s a glitch but that’s how I got it.

“Going Dark” can be easily obtainable by just playing as normal and getting all three items. Once you’ve obtained the last item before getting the chopper, just kill yourself or selves depending on if you are playing with someone else and the trophy pops when you choose to “retry”. I set off at least two alarms and it still worked perfectly.

Wow how bugged is that multiplayer/coop?
Can’t spot anymore… reset settings/restart game etc didn’t fix that.

For the trophy “Don’t touch the deck” at the end part dont climb up on the right side of the deck, trophy didn’t pop for me, had to redo the stage again and jumped on the left side of the platform like in the tutorial video and it finally popped
Worked fine for me climbing up on the right side. Trophy popped when I approached the stairs.

I just got 3 stars on my second try. My advice is to save your money for Sentry Turrets, AI Reinforcements and armor casings in the last 2-3 rounds. Sentry Turrets are essential but the key is placement, the open road by point A, on the Hill overlooking point B on the left and in front of the yard by the truck on point C. Sentries carry over between rounds as long as they don’t run out of ammo or are destroyed. Armor stacks even if the HUD says you have 1 or 2 plates that, thats only for your current collection.

For people wondering if the coop trophies will auto pop if done one the other version ie completeing on ps4 wwill it pop on ps5 it does show as 3 stars but does not auto pop you need to complete at 3 stars again for the trophy and for the intel trophy that also does not auto pop but all you need to do is pick up\find another intel and the trophy pops. There you go people sorry for how this is spaced im awful at english

Seems once you get all 20 intel (full SSE) in coop, you cannot do it on another platform because you already picked it up.

There are 50 total. You only need to pick up 1 in the other version to pop the trophy, if you already got 20 previously. And they will likely add more co-op missions over time.
Can probably also disconnect the Activision account from PSN account somehow to reset online progress? Haven’t tried it myself but this might be a possibility if someone wants to try.

Just wanted to let you know there is no auto pop but this game can be double platinumed. You have to replay the everything but unlike vanguard you don’t have to worry about trophies not unlocking. Also a huge help is you only need to pick up one intel on the second version you play
I think the only way it would be missable is if you pick up all 50 on one version

For “dont touch the deck” I found it much easier to go towards the left side, theres a second tower you can climb on and it has tubes that go towards the front of the ship, I was able to run on top of the tubes and jump onto the last platform… trophy popped on veteran

Going Dark trophy -UPDATE 22/11/22-
I am the last successful achiever of this according to PSN Profiles. The cheese method no longer works, and you can no longer retry in game. You genuinely have to exit and restart. I got this solo (by waiting in the ship until the other person leaves).
– You need recon unlock for heat sensor.
– Spend most of your time killing from outside, through windows and doors, the ones who aren’t directly next to or facing another enemy. There are good vantage points for all three of these A) Water tank B) House directly in front of B and hill behind C) house to North of objective.
– Use the heat sensor, pick off one or two enemies and repeat. Slow and steady is where it’s at.
– I only use the 5 shot sniper rifle.
– Enemies seeing dead enemies WILL NOT set off alarm or cause you to fail.
– Enemies getting startled WILL NOT set off alarm or cause you to fail.
– Enemy shooting at you WILL cause you to fail.
Edit I’m done with this one. I’ve helped about 20x people get this and I just don’t have any desire to play it again. Please don’t message me about this one. Thanks ?

Has anybody managed to get going dark trophy after latest patch? Because I’m having problems even after perfect run.
Having the same issue. Done it 3 times solo now with no alarms or being spotted and still not popping.
It seems like now if you trigger an alert and retry, it doesn’t work… so make sure to not trigger an alert before continuing. My suggestion is to explode yourself with a grenade right after getting every item.

Reloading Chekpoints at anytime NO LONGER works.
You have to do all in one go, reloading at anytime or getting spotted you will need to do the mission from the start!
This cranks up the difficulty at least to 6 or 7.
