Lair of the Harpy is the 12th main story mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Lair of the Harpy Main Quest.
Lair of the Harpy is unlocked when you complete Hammerlocked.
Planet:Eden-6

Reward: 4569$ / 15315XP / Whispering Ice unique epic grenade mod
Mission Info: Auerelia Hammerlock, Sir Hammerlock’s sister and CEO of the Jakobs Corporation, is offering to pay you to leave Eden-6. She’s invited you to Jakobs Manor to negotiate. It’s almost certainly a trap. It’s also the only way to find the Eden-6 Vault Key.

Starting Location: Lair of the Harpy
Return to Floodmoor Basin
First things first, warp back to the Floodmoor Basin location to get your proper destination objective.
Talk to Wainwright
Once you enter the area Aurelia calls you and offers to pay you to leave the planet. Head back to Knotty Peak to speak to Wainwright about what to do.
Go to Jakobs Manor
Wainwright says he’ll help you out by looking for the Vault Key in the manor while you keep Aurelia distracted in some manner. Head to the marked location to get to the travel point to the Jakobs Estate area.
Keep following the objective to head up to the lift.
Ride Lift
Hit the button on the right to call the lift down to you.
Once it’s down pull the lever to go up to the manor grounds.
Go to Jakobs Manor
Head in the front gate.
Ring Doorbell
Go use the doorbell button to get let in to the house.
Go to Dining Hall
Head up to the dining hall to meet Aurelia. Knock on the door at the top of the stairs.
Survive Ambush
Big shocker, it was a trap all along. Wainwright comes along and gets you out of your jam, then asks that you search for the Vault Key instead while he keeps Troy busy. You’ll have a number of enemies filing into the dining room now, and you’ll have to fight them off to continue.
Go to Theater
Some enemies will blow through the door on the far side of the room, which is where you should head through now to proceed. When you get to the large library room head to the top floor and to the back, the wall will be blown open by a Goliath and you can proceed through there.
Kill Anointed Goliath
Troy transforms a goliath in the theater into an Anointed goliath, which means he’s big and purple and gets some more abilities over a normal goliath. This guy will clap his hands and send out shockwaves towards you, which you can jump over. He will also warp around to avoid attacks, and will occasionally shoot flaming skulls at you from his head. Basically just keep away from him if you can, watching for when he does the shockwave attacks so you can duck or jump over them. When he shoots the flaming skulls you can actually shoot those out of the air to stop them reaching you. Once he’s dead he’ll turn into crystal, and you can then go melee it to get some sick loot.
Enter Projection Booth
Wainwright says that there’s a switch for a secret room located upstairs in the projection booth.
Unlock Trap Door
Hit the marked button once you’re up there.
You’ll want to flick the switches until you have the three correct items out on stage. The clue is that you need to recreate the Typhon DeLeon scene as shown by the posters to the wall on either side. The scene should look like the below picture.
Once you get the scene correct hit the button on the right again to open the secret door.
Enter Secret Room
Head up to the stage and enter the newly opened trap door.
Find Vault Key Clue
Wainwright says you should look for something “record like” to find the hidden vault key. Head to the objective at the back and interact with the skull on the shelf.
Take Record
Turns out the clue is an actual record, a special one that Wainwright has the equipment to play. Grab it off the wall.
Exit Through Cellar
The wall breaks, opening a path for you. There is a chest in this room you can loot before dropping down, along with another one below.
Return to Wainwright
Once you’re outside, you can fast travel to Knotty Peak.
Give Record to Wainwright
Hand the record over to Wainwright, which will complete the mission and earn you your reward.
This finishes Lair of the Harpy main mission in Borderlands 3. Now the next quest The Guns of Reliance becomes available.

My most sincere thanks for the damned puzzle solution (the puzzle was damned, not the solution)! I don’t know what kind of sick, twisted, sadist thought up this puzzle and others like them, but I quite strongly suspect he or she had extensive field experience in advanced interrogation techniques.
“You should figure it out from the visible clues.” Oh, you mean the clues that do not intuit which order they are to be observed or read in? It’s like a westerner trying to decipher an Arabic text completely ignorant of the fact that what he thinks is the cover of the book is actually the BACK. Ask me to figure out how six different equations are related, and predict the seventh, well…that’s a horse of another color entirely!
