Kill Red Jabber is a side mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Kill Red Jabber Side Quest.
Kill Red Jabber is a rare randomly appearing side mission that shows up on the notice board in Sanctuary. It’s just random at which point it will be available. Always check the map for new quests when going to Sanctuary and do it as soon as you see it! The Sanctuary Message Board Kill quests are repeatable and will reappear later again. This and other Sanctuary kill quests are not needed for the “All Side Missions” trophy and achievement, but they do add +1 to your total completed missions.
You need to have progressed through the main mission Going Rogue to have access to the Ambermire where this enemy is located.
Planet: Sanctuary
Area: Sanctuary
Quest Giver: Notice Board
Requirement: Rare Random Spawn on Notice Board in Sanctuary, unlocks at different times for everyone. To fight the enemy you must progress through Going Rogue.
Reward: Money ($4569) + 6135 XP
Mission Info: Yeah, kill Red Jabber.
Objectives:
- Kill Red Jabber
Starting Location: Kill Red Jabber
Kill Red Jabber
Red Jabber Location: Eden-6, Ambermire
Red Jabber is a midget that hurls acid balls at you. He is guarded by some apes. Kill the apes first and then he’ll be relatively defenseless. You find him in the Ambermire region of the Eden-6 Planet. The story takes you there automatically during Going Rogue. The location should be marked if you track this quest, see the image below. The enemy can also spawn there outside of this quest. As soon as Red Jabber is dead the side mission is done instantly, no need to turn it in anywhere.
This mission is repeatable and respawns randomly at a later time (same as all other kill quests from notice boards). To make it count towards your total completed missions you only need to do it once!
This finishes Kill Red Jabber side mission in Borderlands 3.

Not sure how to test this but I would assume that finding the ECHO recordings triggers the spawn of the “Rare Spawn” monster. Only after playing with someone that has collected them and or already killed them would it appear on the bounty board. Recently found the 3 involving the Red Jabber and went to his spawn location and fought him. Don’t have anyone to co-op with so don’t know how to test this theory. And besides, someone had to do the legwork first before being able to spread it around.

Can definitely confirm this isn’t the case. I didn’t pick up a single ECHO log throughout the game and never played with anyone in co-op until long after having done the kill requests. I also played large portions of the game offline (disconnected from PSN) and got kill requests to show up on the board, so it can’t be tied to friend’s progress.
It’s just completely random and takes a while for new kill requests to spawn (more appear as you advance through the story).
