From the Ground Up is the 2nd main story mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the From the Ground Up Main Quest.
From the Ground Up is unlocked when you complete Children of the Vault.

Area: Covenant Pass

Requirement: completed Children of the Vault

Mission Info: The long-lost Vault Map has resurfaced and now it’s a race to see who can recover it first. Your first lead is a bandit war chief whose clan makes their home in the Droughts.
Objectives:
- Equip Grenade Mod and speak to Lilith
- Secure Propaganda Center
- Speak to Lilith
- Follow Lilith
- Wait for Lilith
- Watch Monitor
- Find Sun Smasher Chief
- Shoot down Vaughn
- Follow Vaughn
- Clear Area of Skags
- Escort Vaughn to Lilith
- Speak to Lilith
Starting Location: From the Ground Up
Equip Grenade Mod and speak to Lilith
Pick up the dropped Grenade mod and equip in the menu (press 
/ 
to open menu).
Secure Propaganda Center
Time to make use of it! There are a few enemies storming in from the side. You know what to do!
Also, this is a good time to make use of your skill 
for the first time to familiarize yourself with it.
Speak to Lilith
Once the area is cleared, talk to her again to proceed.
Follow Lilith
Walk with Lilith into the compound. She will open a door for us, which was inaccessible before.
Wait for Lilith
Lilith will search for intel on the desk in Shiv’s Sanctum.
Watch Monitor
Nothing required on your part, as Shiv’s message also plays as audio while you can roam the area and loot/resupply.
Find Sun Smasher Chief
Now, we need to find the Chief of the Sun Smasher Clan. Luckily, he isn’t too far away.
Make use of your Skills,
explosive Barrels,
and stay in cover when it gets hairy.
Feel free to take down the last remaining stranglers in melee. Maybe you’ll even have to, if you run low on ammo.
Once the area is more or less secure, you might proceed through the large portal close to where you’ve entered the compound.
Shoot down Vaughn
Help our friend get back on his feet. Literally.
Follow Vaughn
Follow Vaughn until we come to a ledge. There will be a few Skags down there and as he is still unarmed (and unclothed), he prefers that we deal with them. Alright!
Clear Area of Skags
Most Skags in the area are quite small and don’t pose a threat.
However, there will be one Badass Skag which can deal quite a bit of damage.
Escort Vaughn to Lilith
Once the area is clear, Vaughn will catch up and you have to run over the the small HQ together.
Speak to Lilith
Here is the point where you can turn in the mission by simply talking to Lilith.
This finishes From the Ground Up main mission in Borderlands 3. Now the next quest Cult Following becomes available.
