Introduction

Welcome to the Borderlands 3 DLC #2: Guns, Love, and Tentacles Trophy Guide!

It’s Party-Time! Our friend Sir Hammerlock is finally putting a ring on his beloved Wainwright – and we are invited to the Planet Xylourgos to be amongst the guests. Of course, things don’t go as smoothly as planned, but there will be a happy ending after all.

Step 1: Complete the Story

Wedding and Mayhem – what a delightful combination. While playing through the story of your friend’s ceremony, mind the missable trophy Good One, Baby. If you fight together with Deathtrap, always let him do the kills and keep in the background.

Step 2: Side Missions

Time for some more content. These missions are needed for 100% completion as well.

Step 3: Challenges & Collectibles

Finish off by completing the Crew Challenges and collecting all ECHO recordings. The latter ones are not marked on your map.

  • Gaige’s Gifts (Wedding Gifts for Hammerlock and Wainwright)
  • Mancubus’ Eldritch Statues (Statue Enemies)
  • Sir Hammerlock’s Occult Hunts (Beast Fights)
  • ECHO Logs
  • Rare Spawns (Rare Spawning Enemies)

Borderlands 3 DLC #2: Guns, Love, and Tentacles Trophy Guide

Party’s Still On!
Find the party.
This trophy is awarded for completing the first Mission “The Party Out of Space”.
Simply follow Gaige, who will lead the way to the Lodge where the party is being held.

Love is the Fifth Dimension
Marry your friends.
Here is a List of all Main Missions which need to be done:

  • The Party Out of Space
  • The Shadow Over Cursehaven
  • The Case of Wainwright Jakobs
  • The Horror in the Woods
  • On the Mountain of Mayhem
  • The Call of Gythian
Older Than the Trees
Kill the Wendigo.
The Wendigo is a Creature that is featured as an unmissable main quest boss (The Horror in the Woods).
It is a very agile creature with giant antlers, that often jumps around, also to the walls and onto ledges.

Good One, Babe
Watch Deathtrap kill 50 enemies.
Potential Missable Trophy

Deathtrap is the trusty companion of Gaige, the wedding planner. After he will be only briefly with you during the first mission, he will rejoin you in the fifth mission On the Mountain of Mayhem. Simply let him do all the killing for you. Weaken the enemies, so he can quickly deal the killing blow.

There is a way to fight alongside Deathtrap after the story, if you revisit the Boss-Fight in Negul Neshai. However, he will often focus on the Boss rather the smaller enemies and getting it this way can be somewhat of a hassle.
You should aim to get this one out of the way as early as possible during your regular Story-Playthrough (mostly Missions 5+6).

Another way would be a second Playthrough on Ultimate Vault Hunter.

Industrious in the Face of Cosmic Terror
Complete all Crew Challenges and Side Missions on Xylourgos.
Refer to these Guides for the individual Crew Challenges:

  • Gaige’s Gifts
  • Mancubus’ Eldritch Statues
  • Hammerlock’s Occult Hunts

These are all Side Missions you need to complete, ordered by their respective starting Location:

Skittermaw Basin

  • Call of the Deep
  • We Slass!
  • We Slass! (Part 2)
  • We Slass! (Part 3)

The Lodge

  • Sinister Sounds
  • The Proprietor: Empty Bottles
  • The Nibblenomican
  • Happily Ever After

Cursehaven

  • The Proprietor: Rare Vintage
  • Cold Case: Buried Questions
  • Cold Case: Restless Memories

The Cankerwood

  • The Great Escape (Part 2) [Part 1 is a Main Game Mission]
  • Cold Case: Forgotten Answers

Negul Neshai

  • The Madness Beneath
Whispers on the Wind
Collect all ECHO logs on Xylourgos.
Take a look at this post to get the locations of all 18 ECHO Logs which can be found in free-roam. They are not tracked by region like the Challenges, only by their names in the ECHO menu under Logs, D-Pad right. To avoid possible confusion about their names, you might want to do them in one go.

All ECHO Log Locations

A Hunter, Through and Through
Find and kill all 4 rare spawns.
Potential Glitched Trophy

This DLC has four rare spwaning enemies. If they don’t show up for you in the area, quit and reload. Refer to the locations by the Post below.

All Rare Spawn Locations

I’m Floundering Up Here
Listen to 25 fish jokes.
A joke-wielding fish can be found mounted to the wall in several locations, the most obvious being inside the Lodge. Approach and interact :square: with it a total of 25 times. Sadly, you cannot do this in one go, as you have to fast-travel each time to make it work (or quitting and reloading, which isn’t much faster). You will travel to the Lodge a few times between missions, so make sure to talk to the Fish each time to reduce the amount later on.

Another fish that can be reached relatively quickly via fast-travel is located in a house in Cursehaven, close to the Cemetery-Fast-Travel. Travelling between those two would be the fastest way to grind out the remaining interactions needed.

Two other locations would be in the Dustbound Archives Area: the Founder’s Office, above the fireplace and the Art Gallery (after/during Side Quest Cold Case: Restless Memories).

For the main game trophies refer to Borderlands 3 Trophy Guide.

The talking fish wall decoration also tells jokes (though it doesn’t spit out any guns in exchange for your suffering). You can click on that one repeatedly without fast traveling.

I just tried listening to the jokes on Sanctuary with the wall decoration and the trophy didn’t pop so I’m assuming Gearbox fixed it so you have to do it in the dlc

Hi. Maybe it will add some additional info.

Shiverous the Unscathed, rare spawn took me 10-15 times of location reload to spawn. I was loading lodge to use fish on the wall and then back to Negual Neshai. I thought it was bugged, but it just may be so rare. The rest spawned the first time i entered the area.

You can destroy fish nets around cursehaven for a chance to get the talking fish room decoration. Place that in your room and do it that way as well. I got the talking fish my first time in cursehaven and had the trophy done rather quickly.

Actually it’s possible to track which echolog you’ve got. They’re on the top in echo logs in game. Just press touchpad -> right. And then you can check which name you have

That is true, unfortunately not by region (like the other Challenges) but only by name. And those with names like (Part 1, 2…) are sadly not in the order you come across them. Rather confusing 🙂

      Edit: Names are included now.

Apparently “Good One, Babe” isn’t missable (haven’t tested, doing DOOM Eternal first)

Someone on PSNprofiles commented this, which was put in that site’s TD&R

“fast travel to Negul Neshai and head over to the final boss of the area. Deathtrap will always spawn in the arena too and can one-shot enemies with a powerful blast. So just run the fight a few times while being sure to get the normal enemies that spawn in the fight as close to Deathtrap as possible so he does his attack on them rather than the boss, and when you run out of normal enemies just damage the boss and more will spawn. Rinse and repeat until the trophy pops!”

    Anyone confirm/deny?

A question about the fishjokes and Deathtrap trophies/achievments. Are those spesific to one character or are they cumulative over all characters you have?

If you put the fish décoration in your room and spam triangle, you can get the trophy that way too, just got it now

Good one, babe! Is not missablde. Tou can Farm more deathtrap kills até the Boss in the end of the negul neshall mão after the story os complete. If the Boss os behind a wall, deathtrap can Destroy enemies instead of only shooting the Boss.

FWIW, this definitely took me more than 8 hours to 100%. I’m thinking more in the 12H range.

Just a heads up, but there appears to be a fairly rare progression glitch with one of the side missions, Call of the Deep. When the NPC goes fishing and you get the objective “watch fish brother make his entrance”, there’s a chance he might not appear at all.

I managed to resolve this by fast travelling to The Lodge, the fast travelling back and walking back to the objective marker. It wouldn’t work when using the car or simply reloading the game. I submitted a ticket to Gearbox, so hopefully this gets sorted. It seems to be caused by people jumping into the water, but I didn’t do this and still got the error.

In regards to the fish trophy you can actually place the fish in your room on sanctuary and spam triangle to get the trophy much quicker.

Slightly confused. Haven’t started the DLC yet, but multiple guides are saying that “A Hunter, Through and Through” is specifically linked to friends killing the rare spawn in general, and you then completing each Kill-mission related to ithat spawn (which unlocks when a friend kills a rare spawn OUTSIDE this kill-mission, whilst you’re both online at the same time). This guide makes no mention of this – should just killing the rare spawn out of quest unlock this achievement?

You do not need to have the rare spawn Kill mission active to get credit towards this trophy. I killed my last rare spawn without the specific Kill mission last night and trophy popped.

Apparently the requirement on Xbox means a friend must unlock it for you and it must be through a kill mission. So weird. Guide on Xbox confirmed it’s different to PS4.
