Borderlands 3 Childhood’s End Side Mission Walkthrough

Childhood’s End is a side mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Childhood’s End Side Quest.

Childhood’s End is unlocked when you reach Konrad’s Hold during main mission Angels and Speed Demons.

• Open Storage Room
• Find the portrait
• Move portrait
• Open back door
• Find a toy bear
• Touch the bear
• Find a vending machine
• Touch vending machine
• Find Hyperion RKT Sentry
• Touch Hyperion RKT Sentry
• Destroy Hyperion RKT Sentry
• Find a satellite
• Touch satellite
• Go to Roland’s Rest
• Touch water purifier
• Talk to Vaughn

Starting Location: Childhood’s End

Open Storage Room

Hit the big button of the storage room where the mission starts (after accepting the quest it turns from red to green). This opens the door.

Find the portrait

Walk to the end of the storage room, there you see a big picture of Handsome Jack and receive a call over the radio.

Move portrait

Interact with the above mentioned portrait to reveal a hidden button on its right side.

Open back door

Press the green button on the right side of the portrait. This opens a hidden door where the portrait is.

Find a toy bear

Now you get a search area. The toy bear locations is on the left side of the room, on a couch. You must stand right next to it so that it registers a new waypoint.

Touch the bear

See the above image for the bear location, then interact with it by pressing the reload button. The bear will do a little dance and play back an ECHO recording. You get to hear a recording between Handsome Jack and Angel (Jack’s Siren daughter).

Find a vending machine

Hit the green switch on the right side of the room by the closed gate. This opens the gate, behind it is the vending machine.

Touch vending machine

Interact with the vending machine seen in the image above. It drops some green gear. It triggers a recording that reveals Angel is a Siren that can talk to machines.

Find Hyperion RKT Sentry

The Hyperion RKT Sentry Location is hidden behind a door, we must turn on the power on the floor above the vending machine to reveal it. First pick up the fuse to the right of the vending machine and insert it into the fuse box in the main room (marked on the screen).

 

This opens a door to a cave. Kill the insects there and walk through the cave, the waypoints show the path. This leads to the floor above the vending machine.

There you find a generator with a green button. Hit the button, then shoot the two targets on the upper floor (one shot each) to reveal the Hyperion RKT Sentry! See screenshot below:

 

Touch Hyperion RKT Sentry

Jump down one floor and interact with the RKT Sentry.

Destroy Hyperion RKT Sentry

The sentry turns hostile and shoots at you. Quickly destroy it. Because it’s stationary you can hide behind a corner to let shields recharge.

Find a satellite

The satellite location is in the attic above the RKT Sentry. Simply climb up the ladder in the sentry room and shoot the wooden boards that block the ladder exit.

Touch satellite

Interact with the satellite. In a recording we learn that Angel (Jack’s daughter) was chained to a chair with Hyperion tech for most of her life, so that she couldn’t hurt anyone (because she was a powerful Siren).

Go to Roland’s Rest

Fast travel back to Devil’s Razor (Pandora) to the Roland’s Rest fast travel point.

Touch water purifier

Talk to Vaughn

All that work and childhood drama was to get the water purifier in Roland’s Rest working again. You also get a cool unique shield called “Loop of 4NG31”.

This finishes Childhood’s End side mission in Borderlands 3.
