Borderlands 3 Bad Reception Side Mission Walkthrough

Bad Reception is a side mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Bad Reception Side Quest.

Bad Reception is unlocked when you’ve started From the Ground Up

Mission Info: Claptrap lost his antenna due to his magnetic personality. Help him find some “suitable” replacement antennas.

Starting Location: Bad Reception

Search Old Laundry

When you arrive at the Laundry, you’ll see a locked Trap Door on the Ground.

Open Trap Door

To open it, you have to jump from the ledge above

and smash the door by pressing the crouch button ( / ) while jumping down.

Collect Wire Hanger

Pick up the Hanger from the Rack in the corner.

Search Satellite Tower

Next stop is the Satellite Tower.

Destroy Satellite Dish

Obviously, the Dish is on the Building itself. Shoot it to get the antenna.

Collect Antenna

Pick it up to have another replacement to present to our yellow friend.

Search Sid’s Stop

Next up is Sid – a Psycho with a Tinfoil Hat.

Speak to Sid

This is Sid. I have a feeling he won’t live much longer.

Destroy Sid’s Satellite Dish

He wants us to destroy his three Satellite Dishes.
No problem! The first is on top of his shack.

Destroy Second Dish

The second one can be seen from the same spot to the far right.

Destroy Final Dish

And the third one can be spotted to the far left on the hill.

Speak to Sid

Time to talk again.

Kill Sid

Collect Tinfoil Hat

Loot the precious piece and head to our next stop.

Search Spark’s Cave

In the Cave, you need to shoot the Bullseye to stop the electricity on the floor.

Collect Spork

Grab the Spork, which is handily placed in the eye socket of a deceased enemy.

Search Old Shack

For the final one, you have to get inside the shack – but it’s door closes, whenever you get close.

To avoid that, you need to sprint and slide / under the closing gate.

In the back room, there is a Tiny Badass, who needs some bullets to his head.

Collect Umbrella

The final piece is stored on the toilet in the back room.

Give Items to Claptrap

Once you have obtained all five pieces (in any order you like), head back to Claptrap to turn in this mission.
You can now switch his antenna’s by pressing / .
