Introduction
Welcome to the Black Myth: Wukong Trophy Guide! This game is an Action Hack and Slash similar to God of War. The difficulty settings can’t be adjusted but it’s comparable to God of War on normal difficulty. If you thoroughly explore all areas you’ll have an easier time as you discover more equipment and level up. Attributes can be increased to a limited extent from the skill tree, and also by trading Mind Cores to Xu Dog in Chapter 2 at the Cellar Shrine. The game consists of 6 chapters, which are mostly linear. Each chapter takes place on a different map and lasts around 3-5 hours depending on how thoroughly you explore. There are checkpoints called Keeper’s Shrines, they are used to recover health & mana. You can fast travel between the chapters at any time using the Keeper Shrines. Most of the game consists of boss fights but there are also NPCs with little side quests. After the endboss you are put back into the Title Screen and can choose to continue playing, then it puts you back before the endboss. You can still free-roam to all areas from this point. However, if you go into New Game+ it will overwrite your save and you can’t go back, so clean up everything first before you do this! For Platinum you will need 100% completion. The easiest way to keep track of completion is through the game’s “Journal” menu. Bosses are divided into “Chiefs” for minibosses and “Kings” for main bosses. Most trophies come from bosses or side quests. The best approach is to go for 100% completion, then you’ll get most trophies along the way. Do everything you can during the story to level up. Then clean up any remaining trophies after the story, but before starting New Game+.
Step 1: Finish Story [20-30 Hours]
Focus on finishing the story. The story consists of 6 linear Chapters. There are no difficulty settings, it’s one and the same difficulty for everyone.
Explore all areas thoroughly. If you try to rush the game you will make it harder for yourself, you’d be underleveled and underequipped. If you explore thoroughly it will be much easier. You need 100% completion for Platinum anyway which includes all Bosses, NPC Quests, and Equipment. So do as much side content as you can, it will save you time later. Kill one of every enemy you see, this is to make sure they count for the trophy Portraits Perfected (100% journal completion). They show up in the journal when walking near them but to make it count for the trophy you have to KILL one of each.
After the final boss at the end of Chapter 6 you will be put back into the Title Screen. Then you can choose to “Continue Journey” or “Enter a New Cycle”. Choose “Continue Journey“. This puts you back before the final boss and you can keep exploring. All areas of all chapters can be revisited from this point. You can fast travel to previous chapters by using the Keeper’s Shrines (checkpoints where you recharge health). Don’t choose “Enter a New Cycle”, this would start New Game+ and overwrites your existing save, then there’s no way back and you’d have to replay the story!
If you want to do all optional bosses as you go, refer to the Boss Guide. It has strategies for all bosses and also their locations so you won’t miss anything. But you can still clean them up after the story too or in New Game+. If you need any specific upgrades to get stronger, refer to the Collectibles linked in Step 2.
Missables (Chronological Order chapter-by-chapter) – all can still be done in New Game+ if missed:
- Chapter 1-5 – Trophy: Urge Unfulfilled + Always Accompanied – must exhaust all dialogue with the Horse NPC + Old Man NPC in every chapter. They disappear when advancing to the next chapter. Just remember to check their location before beating the endboss of a chapter.
- Chapter 1 – Boss/Spirit: Wandering Wight – must be done before Chapter 1 Secret Area boss “Elder Jinchi“.
- Chapter 2 – Spirit: Second Rat Prince – during the boss fight against Second Rat Prince & King of Flowing Sands, you must kill the King of Flowing Sands (small rat) first to get the spirit.
- Chapter 3 – Curio: Auspicious Lantern – for defeating all 9 of the big head-lamp enemies “Lantern Wardens” in the prison area of Pagoda Realm. They disappear after beating Captain Wise-Voice.
- Chapter 3 – Boss / Journal Entry: Apramana Bat – must be done in Chapter 3 during first visit to “North Shore of the Bitter Lake”, before Zhu Bajie (little boar companion) leaves your party.
- Chapter 4 – Armor: Venomous Armguard – Webbed Hollow > Pool of Shattered Jade: dropped by “Venom Daoist” boss but ONLY if you break his 4 arms before killing him! You have to attack him from behind with staff quick attacks to break his arms. If you kill him before breaking his arms you will miss this armor piece and must get it in New Game+.
- Chapter 4 – Purple Altars Quest (needed to unlock “Crane Immortal” in Journal) – must be done before completing Chapter 4 (before “Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master” boss)
- Chapter 4 – Boss: The Scorpionlord / Gourd: Stained Jade Gourd – In the Chapter 4 Secret Area must defeat “The Scorpionlord” boss before beating “Duskveil” boss. Otherwise he dies during the fight against Duskveil. He drops a Gourd.
- Chapter 4 – Boss: Daoist Mi – In Chapter 4 Secret Area you must defeat “Daoist Mi” before beating “Duskveil” boss (before finishing Chapter 4 Secret Area). Afterward he disappears.
Step 2: 100% Completion Cleanup (Bosses, Equipment, Side Quests) [10-20 Hours]
After the endboss in Chapter 6, choose “Continue Journey” from the Title Screen. You respawn before the endboss and can still go back to all areas/chapters to collect anything you have left.
You need 100% Game Completion for platinum. This includes all Bosses, Equipment, Side Quests. Side Quests always lead to hidden bosses, and bosses drop equipment that you need for other trophies.

Step 3: New Game+ [10 Hours]
Some trophies require going into New Game+. This can be started after the story from the Title Screen by choosing “Enter a New Cycle”. The good news is, since you need to play through New Game+ anyway to craft all armor/weapons, you can use this opportunity to mop up any bosses and collectibles you may have missed on the first run. You should have finished everything possible before going into New Game+, especially all Secret Areas, otherwise you would need a third playthrough to get enough crafting materials for all weapons/armor.
WARNING: Starting New Game+ (“A New Cycle”) will overwrite your existing save file! Make sure you cleaned up any remaining content before doing this, or back up your save to the PS+ Cloud and copy it back after. Once you start New Game+ there’s no way back, you’d have to replay the entire game.
The following trophies require New Game+:
- Six Senses Secured – for having collected all 6 Relics during the main story. However, the trophy only unlocks when starting New Game+, after the first two cutscenes as soon as you start fighting the tutorial boss.
- Master of Magic – unlocks at start of New Game+, after the first two cutscenes as soon as soon as you start fighting the tutorial boss. You may need to have obtained all spells during the first playthrough for this to unlock. So make sure you have all spells before starting New Game+, refer to Spell Locations.
- Page Preserver – one Formula “Soul Remigration Pill” is sold in New Game+ only.
- Brewer’s Bounty – One Soak “Guanyin’s Willow Leaf” is sold in New Game+ only.
- Staffs and Spears + Mantled with Might – in order to craft all weapons/armor you will need to play through New Game+. You will not get enough materials in the first playthrough. You will need to redo practically everything, there are new Staffs (weapons) in New Game+. Some unique boss materials must be obtained again to craft the full set, for example the Chapter 5 Secret Area boss “Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast” only drops 3x “The Bull King’s Iron Horn” per playthrough, but you need 5 total to craft his full set. So you must beat him again. There are other rare/unique materials like this that require beating certain bosses again and opening chests in late-game areas again.
If you are still missing anything after this playthrough, you can start a new Cycle (New Game++) to clean up what you have left. You can keep starting new cycles and everything carries over.

Looks good, lets get to work!
Faxys says
How’s the performance on PS5 for this game?
zulqarmessi says
Top notch ????
Andrew says
Played about 2 hours on ps5 and aside from some minor frame drops, nothing terrible.
Tm says
Only time i have encountered frame drops is during cut-scenes, never in the actuall gameplay..
As of yet, anyway..
Harvey says
Few dips here and there on performance mode, but it feels like 60fps most of the time, the other 2 modes are choppy as hell
Ahmed Talal says
Very good i playing on quality mode with no frame drops. But at 30 fps
G. Wong says
When starting the game I set my setting to “Balance”, between graphics and performance (sorry I play in Chinese so the translation may be incorrect). I am in Ch.1 and most areas are quite smooth, except directly underneath a waterfall. That was when the frame rate dropped quite obviously.
Throw7 says
Thanks for the guide! I’m also very curious about PS5 performance.
Keno says
PowerPyx always delivering!!! thanks for the trophy guide roadmap.
PhantomFear94 says
Thanks PowerPyx!
I’m not a big Soulslike gamer but I did get the 1000G in Elden Ring. How difficult would you say Black Myth: Wukong is versus a completion like that? I’ve had a look at the boss difficulties and it doesn’t seem quite so bad….
zulqarmessi says
BMW is a masterpiece without a doubt.
I played every single from software and soulslike/ soulsborne games
With that experience, I would say 5/10 is the perfect difficulty rating.
Not too hard, not too easy but super duper enjoyable.
Bluron says
Someone knows if its possible to max all skill trees ? If not, will it be possible to respec ?
PowerPyx says
If you grind XP long enough or do NG+ it should be possible to upgrade everything. You can respec for free at any shrine as often as you want.
Krauschi says
Max Level is 342 and with that level you will have enough sparks to max every skill.
Its a hint on the Journey to the West where Wukong is 342 years old until he gains immortality so he practically not gets any older 🙂
4ipuxa says
wow this game is tough.
some bosses have ridiculous combo length and small windows for punishment.
as for graphics its always great when 60 USD game half loads textures, loads on the go, etc,
also i use balance and i have seen from what i can guess dips before 30 fps in cutscenes.
also some kind of artifacts on the water surface.
so as always developers love to realease some kind of uplevel beta and patch 69 to what will be a finished product.
Aolaosunhuilaile says
Stop playing on PC then. I never had any graphical issues on PS5. What, do you expect photo-realism? I did spot one or two areas here or there with flat textures but considering this is the very first AAA title from a small Chinese developer – China is new to big AAA international titles, while Japan has done it for decades – it is graphically extremely impressive. Hell, even these days a TON of big games have you clip right through plants / grass when you run – but it actually moves in this. Some of the shadowing and lighting is also beautiful. I did run into a few areas where I got stuck in a rock for a bit or clipped through, but no game is without that at some point if you explore enough.
As for difficulty, you wrote this August 20th when the game had just come out so my guess is you ran into the big blue baby and snake guy and raged out. I get it. For new players, those are really daunting. The last boss of chapter 2 is another one that was very frustrating. HOWEVER, it gets better with leveling, acquisition of better gear, and once you can farm materials to make as many meds as you want. I’m sure you discovered this for yourself if you powered through. Me, I barely made it by the snake guy, got pissed at it, had some tough fights in chapter 2 – the tiger, the black loong – but when I ran into the end boss of chapter 2 and died 10, 15 times I got so annoyed I went to the area with the big shield guys and farmed those for a day or so until I was a bit over level 100, maxed out pluck of many, found out that I could create pills that gave permanent stat boosts with xu dog underneath the blood pool where you fight the vanguard tiger, maxed out on the pills for hp, mana and defense, beat all the yaoguai chiefs and kings in the chapter other than him, farmed a ton of meds, THEN I went after that sand rat bastard and destroyed him in maybe 90 seconds or less. THAT was satisfying.
AFTER that point, at level 103+, the game became a lotttt more manageable simply because I had more hp, mana and stamina, and the monkey army. Pulling out 6 clones then immobilizing the enemy often melts a boss’s HP bar like crazy, and made short work of many bosses others called tough. I get that some people enjoy the challenge of going at it at a low level and so on – but I don’t. Dying 30, 40 times to one boss when there’s over 80 bosses in the game? Nah. I have things to do in life. Pass on the death parade. Hence, grinding out a bunch of levels. It makes it SO much less stressful. I still died here and there due to some move I didn’t know about or not paying attention, but I rarely took more than 2 tries to beat ANY boss – including yellow loong, emerald armed mantis (a bit tough, I had to use up all my heals but beat it the first try), giant shidingang in chapter 6 (died once because I had no idea he could one shot you from full hp, even with the wukong armor set, if you get hammered). I spent MOST of the game in the pilgrim set from chapter 1, which I didn’t even upgrade to full, and still coasted through most things with some tight boss fights that got close or that I died on once or twice along the way – putting talent points on survivability things first, stamina, mana, and the monkey army took the difficulty from a 10/10 on a lot of boss fights to a 4 to 6, with a few I’d call a 7 or 8 tops – but mainly because each enemy has its own way it moves and I didn’t have time to learn what the signals were to start a dodge (and I’m lazy about dodging sometimes). IF I didn’t go to 100+ (135+ by chapter 6) I can tell I would have had a far harder time and maybe would still be stuck somewhere in chapter 3 – but I’m the sort who likes to get very strong in a game like this rather than low-level it. Don’t get me wrong – defense in this game does very little even when you add hundreds of it – a few big hits from any tougher yaoguai king can still kill you if it hits you at level 100+ – you do still have to actually dodge, use abilities at the right times, use transformations to eat some high damage moves that can kill you even with 700+ HP – I DID get much much BETTER at the game too (I went back on a fresh new game on my wife’s account to try the early bosses and blitzed through the big blue baby that had given me so much trouble earlier, despite having lower stats than the first time I beat it)- but the stats I added also helped. My POINT is, if you grind out to 80+, or 100, it’s going to be less stressful.
Matt says
So the real question is…. ISSSS anything missable??
Mike says
“Cannot absorb without spirit guidance”
Second boss in the game. Did I screw myself?
Snokrystal says
You will unlock the skill shortly, Then at Shrine can retrieve it.
Ahmed Talal says
No you will be able to get his spirit in the sherine no worries
Tyler says
If you havent already figured it out, very shortly after that boss you will encounter an NPC that allows you to consume those spirits so don’t worry you havent missed anything!
Matt says
Same and I died and went back to collect and it was gone… what do I do
PowerPyx says
Don’t worry it can be collected from any Shrine later after you get the Blessed Gourd. Any spirits you didn’t pick up go to the shrine and can be collected from there. You just need to unlock the ability first, at Snake Trail shrine in Chapter 1, by talking to the old man there.
Srad77 says
I was doing the Shifting Sands trophy and followed your walkthrough. I beat Yellow-Robed Squire and secret Tiger Vanguard but didn’t get the 2 trophies you mentioned. Also I’m looking at the trophy list, there are no trophies called “Gleams of Gold” and the “Tiger Family”. I’m confused. Help?
PowerPyx says
When I wrote that I was on the PC Steam version which has different achievements. Fixed it now. On PS5 these don’t give trophies, thanks for flagging this 🙂
Xorital says
My only hope is that it takes forever to unlock all skills; I don’t want it to be too easy to hit max level (its a waste of xp)
Krauschi says
it basically takes until you finish minimum NG++ with a bit grinding
max level is 342
cleathl2abbit says
Do I need to grind?
Nikolai says
Damn, Steam version has a lot more achievements 🙁
Ben says
PS5 has alot less because of the stupid trophy point limit Sony has in place.
Kamaji says
I like the game but it needs some optimization. I encounter framedrops even on performance.
F.e. when you change to a stance with some smoke effects. Some of the particle effects are causing stuttering.
I hope they can hotfix this because it kinda ruins the experience and takes you out of the immersion…
Other then that it’s a fun game. Pretty nostalgic to have this original GOW trilogy feel.
Tyler says
For the “Pound and Perfect” trophy, you need to defeat a boss found in the water by the North Shore of the Bitter Lake shrine. After he is defeated you have to collect an item from the wolf npc by the cellar shrine. After this you’ll be teleported to the painted realm where theres a tiger NPC that can upgrade armor, upgrade a single piece once and the trophy will pop. Theres also an NPC that you can deliver seeds to in order to harvest materials so I assume this pops the “Happy Harvest” trophy as well but I’ve yet to confirm.
Tyler says
Also, you unlock a spell for winning a fight against the blacksmith after challenging him.
Tyler says
Fighting the blacksmith also unlocks a legendary gear set to craft, and a slot for another Curios to equip.
Tyler says
Can confirm harvesting materials after handing over the seeds pops “Happy Harvest”
Tyler says
Just seen you can also deliver the proto-amourworm from chapter 4 to the harvesting npc, unsure what comes of this yet
Tyler says
Delivering the proto-amourworm puts it in a harvesting basket, and it lets you feed the rice cocoons to it.
Teddy says
So you say we need to collect every spirits to 100% the game. There’s a problem for me and many other where we skipped wandering wight boss, Ring the three bells, defeated the secret gold boss, come back to the area and wandering wight is no where to be found. Did we just locked ourself out of the platinum?
PowerPyx says
He respawns in New Game+. You can get back to him within 10 minutes. He drops his spirit again. I just tested it. Even if you already had his spirit he drops it again regardless and it gets transformed to Will. So don’t worry about it 🙂
I also added a note about this to the Boss Guide & Spirits Guide.
4ipuxa says
Could you be so kind and make videos about locations of
Meditation Spots
Luojia Fragrant Vines
Awaken Wine Worms
It would help a lot, some of those are easier to find than others.
thanks
BlackTorito says
Wandering Wight is a MAJOR missable if you don’t defeat it before fighting Elder Jinchi, should be noted since this makes the trophies for Curious and Spirits missable.
PowerPyx says
You can grab his spirit within the first 10 minutes of New Game+ (all spirits carry over). So not a huge issue if you missed him.
Shabyoob says
Its not even, I killed him early and then got his spirit from the shrine/bonfire.
John says
Why such a varied time to platinum?
Matthew says
I fought the duskveil and he killed the scorpionlord, is there any other way to get his items that he drops
PowerPyx says
This might require New Game+ then. I’ll do some testing with this later. Looks like some bosses are missable in different ways. But they all respawn in NG+ and you can run through it pretty fast.
Oll says
Wandering Wight at least is completely missable if you don’t beat it before ringing the three bells/beating the golden boss.
Found that out the hard way so you might want to list it as such in the guide.
Xtreme says
Wandering Wight spirits is missable? in the end of chapter 1, Wandering Wight is missing. so i can not get Wandering Wight spirits.
Martyn says
Thanks for the guide. The Pound and Perfect trophy is gained by upgrading 1 piece of gear.
Gley says
this game definitely not 5/10 for me it’s feels more like 7
John says
Agreed. The game itself is 7/10 difficulty for me. Some of these encounters are more challenging than anything I came across in Sekiro, Lies of P, or Shadows of Erdtree. In general, a lot of trophy guides really underrate the difficulty and come up with a rating that doesn’t consider the average player. We’re not all veteran trophy hunters who have Hollow Knight, Evil Within, and Red Dead Redemption 2 as a frame of reference to truly recognize hard platinums. Wukong’s trophies by comparison aren’t nearly as excruciating, but 5/10 denotes an average, medium difficulty. I guess it can’t be helped because the response to Wukong’s difficulty has been more divisive than I’ve seen with other recent soulslikes, with many calling the game too easy and others saying it’s too hard. Factoring in the average player, I would put the platinum difficulty at a minimum of 6/10.
Pablo says
FOR YOU 7/10 for me 1/10 game so easy if you love Soulslike.
Final Boss says
“Minimum Playthroughs: 1 & starting New Game+ (*currently unknown if a full second playthrough in New Game+ is required, potentially could be needed to craft all weapons/armor)”
is it required to craft all armor? Cant find any trophy about armor
PowerPyx says
I’m not yet sure what “Mantled with Might” & “Staffs and Spears” trophies are for. They sound like they could be for crafting everything.
Bunkerbudy says
All armor and all Weapons is required.
You need a full NG+ for both trophies and if you are not carefull, you even need a NG++ for the armor sets.
Tyler says
The trophy “Urge Unfulfilled” is for completing Ma Tianba’s questline, hes the horse man trapped in the Element Cart in chapter 5. After defeating the “Keeper of Flaming Mountains” boss where you fight a version of Ma Tianba I was able to go back to the cart and pull the cord to get the trophy. I’m not sure if you had to have spoken to Ma Tianba in all previous chapters to get the trophy or if you can just speak to the cart in chapter 5.
Jonny says
The trophy “Always Accompanied” didn’t unlock for me when I got the supreme gourd, so potentially you had to meet the npc in every chapter (I only found him in 1, 4, and 5).
PowerPyx says
Had someone else tell me the same and it unlocked after speaking to him in his Chapter 4 spot. So it seems speaking to him in every spot is required in addition to upgrading Gourd to Supreme. Updated it in guide with all his locations.
I’m not 100% sure if that makes the trophy missable though. He disappears from some spots (in Chapter 2 he disappeared for me). Would need someone to confirm.
Final Boss says
It didn’t unlock for me either, I spoke with him on chapter 1,3,4,5 so I went back to chapter 2 spot and once I talked to him it popped.
it required you to speak with him in chapters 1 to 5 and unlock the supreme gourd.
Not sure if he despair in older spots later after completing chapters but he is there in my playthrough when I reached chapter 5 (100% completed except for the final boss of the chapter)
Manchovie says
In chapter 1, I beat the secret boss before beating wandering wight. Now wandering wight is gone. Does anyone know if you are locked out of getting his spirit? And would that affect the platinum?
NihiRagnarK says
I think it would. The same applies to all the other chapters. There is maybe one spirit in each chapter that can be missable.
So if the trophy is indeed obtaining all spirits, which most likely is, then this is missable.
NihiRagnarK says
There is indeed a missable trophy. For the dual boss fight of chapter 2, if you kill the son first, you will miss the spirit from the father, hence blocking you from obtaining the all spirits trophy in NG.
Bunkerbudy says
NG+ is 100% required, so its good to know that if you fuck up the first time, you get a second chance.
4ipuxa says
the Apramana Bat (Chief) boss fight is missable. it looks like.
also people commented on Youtube about it.
do you need the boss for the trophy?
Mike says
Do we have any estimate on when the guide will be updated with the missing trophies?
PowerPyx says
I’m adding them as I figure them out bit by bit. Should be all done within a week.
Tyler says
“The Sire and Sons” requires you to first collect an item by smashing the bronze wall in the arena for “First Prince of Flowing Sands” (I used the wandering wight spirit attack) and then finding the 4 hidden Loong bosses. After you defeat the final one the trophy pops.
ZenView says
There is a lot of glitched trophies on PS5. I’ve completed the quest with purple letters and trophy for it doesn’t unlocked.
Johny says
Non of the trophies are glitched. Only 1 trophy that pop with a huge delay is Portraits Perfected (nothing serious in my opinion)
Just adding here the description for some trophies:
* “Seeds to Sow” – You need to collect all 15 seeds (I do not even think that you need to bring them. Just collect) and these are
1) Celestial Pear Seed
2) Fire Date Seed
3) Millennium Ginseng Seed
4) Monkey-head Fungus Seed
5) Nine-capped Lingzhi Seed
6) Licorice Seed
7) Aged Ginseng Seed
8) Fragrant Jade Flower Seed
9) Tree Pearl Seed
10) Gentian Seed
11) Fire Bellflower Seed
12) Purple Lingzhi Seed
13) Jade Lotus Seed
14) Snake-Head Mushroom Seed
15) Gold Lotus Seed – only one that drops from mob in chapter 4. Snake like mob
* “Page Preserver” – For getting all Medicine Formulas. I kinda got it without really thinking about it.
* “Brewer’s Bounty” – That’s for finding all Gourds, Drinks and Soaks combined. All of them needed.
* “Mantled with Might” – Not just crafting armor, but armor that drops from mobs as well. So basically all armor in the game (excluding Deluxe of course)
* “Staffs and Spears” – Crafting all spears. Some spears are hidden behind quest. Like prisoner in chapter 3 gives one.
* “Medicine Meal” – This is for getting all Skandhas. There are total 5 of them. After you get all 5 -> bring them to Xu Dog and he will prepare medicine that will increase stats a bit.
* “Meet the Match” – It is for secret boss fight. You need to finish 4 secret areas first and then find huge temple in chapter 3. There will be a small Buddha guy that will teleport you to new location (secret area 5) and you will fight tutorial boss again, but this time for real 🙂
KoolKid says
Seems like a lot of items are not where guides and people were finding them. This is crazy there’s a guy in the secret of area 4 that I’m suppose to give am item to amd he’s completely gone.
Mike says
There is a boss in the prison cells, called Captain Lotus-Vision. After beating him, you seem to be able to open the prison doors.
mike says
A bug?
I can’t get Brewer’s Bounty to unlock for me.
I have all 10 gourds. Regular turned into Supreme
All 9
And 29 soaks.
Am I missing something?
4ipuxa says
Now having investigated i beleive the hardest trophy not Portraits Perfected but rather to be either Staffs and spears (definetely need late game NG+) or Mantled with Might (unknown for me whether deep run into NG+ is required).
So basically it looks like first run play as you want the more stuff that you have the better, NG+ finish the missables, weapon and armor crafting.
Jonathan says
I just got the platinum.
I can confirm the minimum playthrough is ng+ secret boss of chapter 5
you unlock the last weapon there and you need 8 bull kings iron horn to craft all the armor set and this last weapon. You can only get 4 per playthrough, 3 from the boss and 1 from a chest right before the boss.
Also there is another missable, the Venomous Armguard. You can only get it by breaking the arm behind the Venom Daoist the first time you fight it.
Matthew says
Just checking to ask if the guide is safe to follow yet.. Noticed the Work-in-progress red text is still there so just double checking
BlackMythPlat says
Just achieved the platinum. I did all quests and fought the secret Erlang boss in my first playthrough and did a fast cleanup on NG+. Some tips on the trophies:
Special Note: You need 8 Bull King Iron Horn to craft all weapons and armor. You only get 4 each playthrough in the Chapter 5 secret area.
Staffs and Spears
3 new weapons to craft in NG+. One is available to craft with generic materials. One you can craft with 9 loong pearls, and you only get 5 per playthrough if i remember correctly (One each from the four dragons in Sons of Sire quest, one from Kangjin Star). The last one requires 2 Bull King Iron Horns.
Mantled with Might
Doing all possible bosses will unlock all the craftables. Some non-craftables include:
Turtle Treasure Helm from Turtle Treasure in Chapter 3. One spawns beside an Awakening Wine Worm in the snowy mountain region.
See No Evil from the blind monks in New ThunderClap temple in Chapter 3
Vajra Armguard from Clay Vajra (4-legged monster with a spear which can spew fire. Only one of them in the temple that i can find) in New ThunderClap temple in Chapter 3
Locust helm from one of the insect types in Webbed Hollow in Chapter 4
Venomous Armguard from Venomous Taoist quest (First Encounter, must destroy 4 of his arms) in Chapter 4
Secret Chest containing the weak version of Wukong’s armor (From Verdant Glow shrine, turn behind and fly on the cloud, not very far away) in Chapter 6.
Page Preserver
Only unlocks in NG+. There is a recipe that you can only buy from Xu Dog in NG+.
Seeds to Sow
Get all seeds for all the plant ingredients. Some seeds can produce 2 types of ingredients. Just check which ones with Chen Dragon. Getting this trophy will also get you Graceful Orchid which i think is a soak.
mike says
“Secret Chest containing the weak version of Wukong’s armor (From Verdant Glow shrine, turn behind and fly on the cloud, not very far away) in Chapter 6.”
Where is this?
Matthew says
Do you know the number of total armor pieces, I think I’m only missing venomous armguard for platinum, I’m about to start ng++ just don’t want to miss another piece
Srad77 says
Man this game is so annoying. On my first walkthrough in the second chapter, when you fight the two bosses (The small rat and second Prince), I killed the second prince first, so I did not get his spirit. But then the first Prince spawns which you need to be able to access the secret area come which I did. On my second walkthrough, now I kill the small rat first, and got the spirit of the second Prince, but not the first Prince can’t spawn and I can’t access the secret area. So frustrating
Neto says
Use the Wandering Wight spirit to break the wall
Rubrain says
Do you mean the are behind the budha wall? You can get to it by using wandering skill to break it with a headbutt or using the azur skill to break it works too
Max says
Maybe Another Missable: In Chapter 4 Secret Area
Do the Evil Monk quest (for a Transformation Magic) and kill Scorpion Boss (for a Gourd) before doing the Area Boss (Duskveil) , because they will disappear after the boss is killed.
KiDdYoNe says
The Scorpionlord seems to disappear after triggering The Duskveil, I walked into the area, saw the boss, died, went back to finish Daoist Mi. After him, I went back to The Duskveil just to see him disappear.
Max says
Mantled with Might needs to get all Armors from the game not just crafting
That means you need to get all equips from monsters drops
-Venomous Armguard- Drops from the Venom Daoist (first phase, after removing him from a cocoon, need to hit his back to destroy his arms) Chapter 4 so its missable one
-Vajra Armguard
-Locust Antennae
– See no Evil
– Skull of Turtle Treasure
And maybe … you need the Old Wukong Armor (from the first trailer) from a secret area in chapter 6, but that one I’m not sure, since i had it before getting all the monsters ones and its more like a easter egg … but after getting the the Nimbus Cloud, you need to return to the first shrine and going back its on top of a mountain in a little chest in that area.
Tender says
You say you may need all spells in first playthrough. I only missed the horse NPC one. So just starting NG+ and doing that quest line wont be enough?
David says
I can confirm I didn’t get Urge Unfulfilled after beating Chapter 5 and going back to look for the string on the cart. I definitely missed the horse altogether as I was missing the meditation point right next to him in the cave in Chapter 1.
Baz says
So with the missable bosses is that it then have to start all over on new game or new game+??
PowerPyx says
You can clean them up in New Game+. Everything carries over.
Jonathan Navarro says
I just got the platinum, and this game is a masterpiece.
GrimProphit says
I got Medicine Meal when I collected all 5 skandha the last one coming from Giant Shigandang. He wouldn’t allow me to fight him until I had 4 of them he sat still. You get them from the Monkey you see sitting on those heads and he runs off. I then went to Xu Dog and there was an option to talk to him about them. He then gave me 5 pills that upped my mana, health and stamina and trophy popped after.
Blackbeard says
I think that the trophy “Fickle Forms” is bugged. I got all 54 spirits and 9 transformations, and the trophy still did not pop for me. Unless the word “mastered” in the trophy description means something else, I’m stumped.
Tender says
Do you have to start an entire new game when you missed the horse for the “master of magic” trophy or can you get it in NG+ and still get the trophy?
Max says
Everything missable can be redone in NG+
Ramses Blair says
I want to start Star Wars Outlawa so badly but I’ll wait until the Trophy Roadmap drops
rinne says
just a heads up that the horse guai trophy has a bug tied to it. i couldn’t achieve it my first playthrough because even when i had advanced chapters, the horse guai would not leave his post in chapter 2, despite me exhausting his dialogue multiple times and on multiple occasions. i’ve only seen one other person who had this problem but they were able to fix it by teleporting back and forth between chapter 2 and chapter 3 and exhausting his dialogue multiple times. it seems like an extremely rare bug. i suppose i was just unlucky.
Victor says
I MISSED THE HORSE ONLY ON CHAPTER 1 AND GOT THE TROPHY.
Lusy says
I have problem with trophy Fickle Forms, i have all for and trasformation
vloneshenz says
Do you have all the spirits?
PowerPyx says
Trophy Guide is complete now, enjoy 🙂
Only pages I still need to add are All Seeds, All Armor, All Weapons. Those will be done within 24 hours.
All other items are complete.
Jorge says
So with this we will know which bosses we need to beat again and which ones we don’t in new game + to get all the materials for all the equipment?
Great guide, thank you again.
TheNoMoreHero says
Had to do 2 and a half playthroughs because I did not catch the venemous armguards from the venom daoist. I spedran to that point on a fresh ng++ in about 2 and half hours though, include another hour for having to do chapter 6 on my previous ng+, so added an extra 3 and a jalf hours to my playthrough bur got the platnium!
Deadpool89 says
Are you guys planning on doing a chapter by chapter guide showing all collectibles and trophies in collection order. Kinda like how you did with Stellar Blade and ff7 rebirth. I guess for me it’s so easy to get lost and miss something with all the different guides.
4ipuxa says
Did the platinum yesterday.
And i can tell that NG+ was suprsingly not hard, it was not easy by any means but it was not hard,
shame that you have to go to chapter 5 which is kinda almost the end of the game to get platinum, would have enjoyed more if it could have been done in a single playthrough.
Now perfomance wise i saw wild FPS dips to what i guess would be 10-15 fps, especially using Pluck of Many, in cutscenes to less that 20. But grafics was looking pretty good all around the game, there were textures that were too low resolution which looked like from previous generation. There was only one crash for me, so again releasing up-level Beta and taking full price, War (Games development) never changes.
P.s. there was an infinite spell/mana glich/bug, dont know if it is patched right now, so if it is not it is worth looking into, makes boss fights too easy, but takes fun out of the game.
Rubrain says
These guides are life saving. Quick note in regards to my experience, you don’t have to finish chapter 3 to miss the Apranama bat, you miss him when you lose the pig as your companion, so make sure you do him as soon as you get to the shore. Loving everything this game has to offer!
migix959595 says
Hi pyx i have got a platinum 1 hour ago, i have lost time to find last set of armor(on the web nothing show that armor).
In chapter 6 there is a hidden chest, starting from the verdant path turn back and ride the cloud, there is a chest there that contains
Golden feng tail crown
Gold souzi armor
Dian cui loong soating bracers
Lotus silk cloudreaders
I hope that can help.
Leprekon666 says
Always Accompanied trophy do you actually have to exhaust all dialogue? Not sure I did in chapter 1 as he is no longer there and didn’t know I had to exhaust dialogue till now and almost finished chapter 1
Towa says
Regarding Master of Magic, you do not have to have all the Transformation spells. I missed the Horse Guai sidequest in my first run and still got the trophy upon starting NG+. I believe this trophy is tied to “Regular Spells” like Immobilize, etc. Not Transformations.
Krollywood says
The “Always Accompanied” Trophy is bugged at me.
I already have the 10 healing charges by making the quests, upgrade the healing charges to 9 and got the last one from the old man. Made everything but didn’t got the trophy. ????
Donlino65 says
Anyone else having a issue with Curio Collector?
I got all the Curios, except the pre-order one but the trophy didn’t pop.
Am I screwed?
Sam says
If i start a NG. Do i need to do all the side quests side bosses for any specific materials for armours / weapons? Except for the bull kings armour set which requires NG+
NL_the_Godfather says
For Urge unfulfilled trophy u dont have to beat chapter 5 first. U have to beat the first boss that comes after finding him in the cart. Then fast travel back and talk to him to pull out the weapon. During this boss fight the boss will turn into a shadow copy of him and have to kill it to beat the boss. I can confirm it works as I have done in my 1st playthrough.
Shrey says
Hey, I missed the Second Rat prince spirit as I killed the bigger one first and the small one got eaten x_x. Am I locked out of the platinum? ????
G. Wong says
Unfortunately yes, you will have to attempt the fight properly in NG+, although of course you may choose to start the game again; Chapter 1 can be done very quickly in 1-2 hours and then you can reach Chapter 2 to re-try that fight.
kurunandan says
Do the equipments that you have not crafted yet carry over to NG+?
I do not have enough gold fine leaves and have three body armour pieces left to craft!
Was thinking if they carry over and I can just craft them in NG once I get more, or do I have to unlock those pieces again before crafing them?
Dteque says
Any word on soak drops (from plants) being bugged or locked behind any question completion? Myself and a few others have picked up way more than 3000 jade lotus (no exaggeration) and lotus soak still didn’t drop. We are all on NG++. In my case this cycle was rushed just to get to the iron horns, no quest was done, I think it might be connected to that.
Matt says
Can I skip step 2 of the walkthrough and incorporate it within new game plus? Or are certain things reset making this a nightmare?
PowerPyx says
You would need a 3rd playthrough in New Game++ to get enough crafting materials for all weapons/armor if you didn’t do 100% completion on 1st playthrough, particularly the secret area bosses.
Matt says
Hmm I did the secret bosses and beat erlang even…. So hopefully not to much extra cleanup?
Blizzard says
I think the scenic seeker trophy is a little buggy. My first playthrough it didn’t count the chapter 2 crouching Tiger Temple mediation point. It also didn’t count the camp of seasons in chapter 5. It picked up the tiger temple one in NG+ but wouldn’t register the camp of seasons spot.
I have reinstalled the game after collecting and still wouldn’t register. Does anybody have the same issue or know a fix? I just need that one spot to platinum the game.
LinusAustinEvans says
@Aolaosunhuilaile
Well said.
Agreed on every point.
Fasnea says
I did not exhaust the dialog of the old man npc in chapter 1. I did read somewhere that this should be ok, I just need to exhaust the dialogs on the next chapter. Just wanted to confirm if anyone experienced the same thing and still got the Always Accompanied Trophy?
