Luojia Fragrant Vines are used to upgrade your Gourd in Black Myth: Wukong. They increase the number of usages in the Gourd, allowing you to heal more often without visiting a Shrine. This is important to stay alive for longer during boss fights.
Luojia Fragrant Vines look like yellow vines hanging from trees. To upgrade the gourd, give them to the Shen Monkey NPC in the Chapter 1 area “Bamboo Forest > Marsh of White Mist”. There are three more Vines than you need to fully upgrade the Gourd, allowing you to skip any three.
You can fast travel between chapters at any time from Keeper’s Shrines. There’s still free-roam after the story. After the endboss you are put back in the Title Screen, here choose to Continue, it will spawn you before the final boss. You can still revisit all places from this point. Just don’t “Enter a New Cycle” in the Title Screen as this starts New Game+ and overwrites your save with no way back.
Finding the Luojia Fragrant Vines and upgrading the Gourd to 9 healing charges is a prerequisite for the Always Accompanied trophy & achievement to unlock the Supreme Gourd.
Also see Awaken Wine Worms to improve the healing percentage per Gourd use.
Other Gourd Items:
- Awaken Wine Worms (Gourd Healing Upgrades)
- Gourds
- Drinks
- Soaks

When you reach the top, before entering a cave, turn left to enter a side area with 3 enemies. Defeat them, then on the tree you can harvest the yellow vine.
Luojia Fragrant Vine #7

Luojia Fragrant Vine #9
Webbed Hollow > The Verdure Bridge: From Verdure Bridge take the left path over the green bridge with roots growing on it, turn left, where two lanterns are drop down the right side and go forward until you go upstairs to a village. As soon as you enter the village the yellow vines will be hanging from a tree. Guarded by a Scorpion enemy, which also drops a Spirit.
Luojia Fragrant Vine #10
Webbed Hollow > Cliff of Oblivion: After beating the boss “Buddha’s Right Hand”, go over the broken hand and down the path. Drop down the left where a wooden hanging bridge is. Go over this bridge, then you reach a narrow wooden beam with lots of slashing spider arms coming from cocoons. You have to cross over this wooden beam. The easiest method is to use the Transformation “Umbral Abyss” (can be changed from shrine spells menu). This transformation was automatically unlocked upon completing Chapter 3, it transforms you into the Macaque Chief. First, clear out the skeleton enemies before the wooden beam so they don’t hit you. Then transform and use the / heavy attacks, the final attack creates a long wind wave that hits everything in its path. Use this to clear out all the cocoons. It helps if you respec your skills to put some points into Transformation to increase maximum Might and decrease the Might decay, so you can attack more often. If a cocoon survives use Immobilize spell to run past it. Be careful, there’s an archer at the other end of the beam, but if you run over it fast enough or do a jump before he shoots you will avoid his arrow. After crossing over, the Vine will be hanging from a tree in front of you at the right edge of the area. Just before the hidden shrine called “Relief of the Fallen Loong”.
Luojia Fragrant Vine #11
Temple of the Yellow Flower > Mountain Trail: From this shrine turn around to see it hanging from a tree, in plain sight.
Luojia Fragrant Vine #12
Secret: Purple Cloud Mountain > Valley of Blooms (see How to Reach Purple Cloud Mountain secret area): When facing this shrine, drop down the left of it where some water is, past the water you can see it hanging from a tree.

Luojia Fragrant Vine #13

Luojia Fragrant Vine #14
Woods of Ember > Height of Ember: Luoja Fragrant Vine – From the shrine go forward, past where you fight the “Father of Stones” boss, then go down the left path and follow the cliffside to the end. There you find the vines hanging from a tree at the end of the path.
Luojia Fragrant Vine #15
Field of Fire > Fallen Furnace Crater: from Fallen Furnace Crater turn around, backtrack down the path where the big ball was rolling earlier. Halfway down the path, on the left, the rolling ball will have destroyed a barrier. You can now go down the left, follow that new path, then in the left corner you will see this Vine. Just before the Flint Vanguard boss.
Chapter 6: Mount Huaguo
No Luojia Fragrant Vines in this chapter.
How to Unlock Supreme Gourd
After upgrading the Gourd to 9 Healing Charges, go to Chapter 5 > Furnace Valley > Rakshasa Palace: From this shrine go upstairs and over the bridge. Then take the left path to reach a room with the Old Man NPC. Exhaust all dialogue with him, then interact with the fire in the middle of the same room to upgrade your gourd to the “Supreme Gourd”. It’s the best gourd in the game, Mythical grade (orange color in inventory), and has 10 healing charges. You must have upgraded the Gourd to 9 healing charges to interact with the fire.

PowerPyx says
I haven’t found a way to reset the Gourd upgrades. Only Mind Cores & Skills can be reset.

I am in NG+ and have noticed two things:
1. All Luojia Fragrant Vines on trees respawn in NG+, but those sold by Shen Monkey do not.
2. It seems only 13 Vines are needed to fully upgrade the two upgrade-able Gourds. However, the game still allows you to collect 2 more Vines. After that, the game automatically converts additional Vines into Will.
