Introduction
Welcome to the Attack on Titan 2 Trophy Guide! Much like the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Series, A.O.T. 2 is an updated version of the story around Attack on Titan (Org. “Shingeki no Kyojin“) and will let you play through the story of the Anime/ Manga. You are playing as the nameless protagonist of the 104th Cadet Corps who grew up in the Shiganshina District alongside Eren Jäger, Mikasa Ackermann and Armin Alert, the 3 main characters of the Anime/ Manga. Your parents get killed during the attack of the Colossal and Armored Titan, much like Eren’s parents. You then decide to join the Training Corps alongside those 3 to become a soldier. The story picks up during your training and concludes at the very end of season 2 of the anime.
Trophy-wise you’ll be looking at 3 full playthrough of the story and the survey missions and grinding out numerous items like weapons, ODM gear, titan research, friendship levels and much more.
Step 1: Beat the story and keep ranking up your friendship ranks
Complete the main story and talk to all the characters that have a friendship symbol above their head. You can’t progress to the next friendship level of a person if you don’t talk to them after filling up the gauge. You want to be as effective as possible going about this, so you don’t have that much grinding left at the end.
Also try to kill as many titans as possible during the story missions, as you’ll have to collect every titan model in the game for the 100% gallery completion.
Step 2: Complete all the story missions again
You’ll now have unlocked the dire elimination targets for every mission, so simply replay all of them and complete all dire eliminations. You also have to complete certain missions to rescure characters that died during the story, otherwise you won’t be able to reach the max friendship rank with all your friends.
Step 4: Complete all the Survey Missions with an S-rank
This will complete the Muster Roll tab of the gallery and you’ll get the trophy for completing all survey missions. Try to play in another mode to use a different character than your main. As you still have to get at least one of them to level 100.
Step 3: 100% Gallery completion
Oh boy, here comes the big one. This will be by far the most time-consuming trophy to unlock, since you have to collect every item in the game, rank up all your friendships to the max and kill every type of titan in the game. You also have to complete the main story such as the survey missions. This one will probably take you at least 40-60 hours and it will be very tedious at times.

We’ll make a breakthrough eventually… And see what truth these Walls are hiding. Acquired all trophies. |
![]() |
A platinum name so long that you won’t even be able to read it in time when it pops up on your screen. Naturally, you have to collect all the other base game trophies to unlock this one. Congratulations on unlocking this fairly decent platinum!

Don’t worry… Just keep training. Got selected as the top performer during training in Episode 1 of the Story Mode prologue. |
![]() |
For this trophy you have to destroy the most titan dummies during the final battle of the training in the prologue. Try to get to the end as quickly as possible with your ODM gear, so you can already start killing titans before your cadet teammates get there. Killing around 20 titans should be sufficient for becoming the top performer. Note that destroying the foot of the dummy will also give you 1 point. You have 5 minutes to complete this section, however, all the dummies will most likely be destroyed after 3 minutes, so don’t waste too much time here.
The prologue can be replayed once you’ve unlocked the woman that stands on the training corps plaza and should be fairly easy to complete as the top performer. |

You can either play those in the story mode and take one of your friends along for the mission, or beat it with an actual friend on PSN when playing online. You can also select a different character than your custom made one, which will allow you to work towards “Sorry, buddy, but I’m just a natural.”. In order to achieve an S-rank for any missions you have to make sure that you complete 3 objectives during the mission:
The above playlist will show you how to earn an SS-rank for all 27 story missions. All dire eliminations have been completed during the missions, all rescues have been completed and all regular objective S-ranks have been completed as well in my videos. |

It’s huge! What the heck is it? Completed your first Dire Elimination. |
![]() |
You unlock the dire eliminations after you’ve beat the story mode. Dire eliminations are special side missions where a really powerful titan spawns in and is marked with a red skull on the map. You have to complete a certain hidden objective in order to trigger the dire elimination. All 28 story missions have a dire elimination target.
For this trophy however, it’s enough to just complete any dire elimination. So you can even get it by completing a scout mission or friendship mission dire elimination. |
||
![]() |
I’m gonna destroy them! Every last one that’s on this earth! Completed all Story Mode Dire Eliminations. |
![]() |
In general you’ll get the dire elimination to spawn by just completing all the side missions and killing all the titans present, only some missions have more specific requirements for the dire elimination to spawn.

This attack will be the final blow! Successfully completed a Sneak Attack. |

There will be a tutorial for the sneak attack during the first episode of the story. You have to stand within 150 meters of a titan that’s turning his back on you. You now have to aim at him with your telescope (holding ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() |
I know we can win this if we work together! Used a Buddy Action. |

I’m just glad it didn’t turn out any worse… Saved 100 or more comrades. |
![]() |
Your comrades will be grabbed by titans every now and then you’ll see a red circle with the picture of the captured comrade above the titan. Now you simply have to free them by cutting off the arm that is holding your comrade or by killing the titan altogether. Repeat this 100 times and the trophy will be yours.
![]() |
I was able to control myself perfectly. Avoided 100 Titan attacks. |
![]() |
For this trophy you have to either escape the direct grab of a titan by utilising the air evasion manoeuvre (refer to “I’m the deliverer of death!” on how to perform an air evasion) or dodge an enraged titan (by failing a sneak attack or simply standing still for too long) by dodging with your ODM gear.
![]() |
More… Must kill more… Eliminated a total of 1,000 enemies. |
![]() |
Self-explanatory. Kill 1000 titans and this trophy will be yours. You’ll probably even get this during your story playthrough.

My specialty is tearing through flesh. Got 2,000 total body part destructions. |

This is a true salute! Had over 100 allies join. |

Allies will automatically join your squad when you complete their side missions during a battle. Alternatively, you can walk up to generic D-rank scouts on the battlefield and recruit them for your squad by pressing ![]() |
||
![]() |
This world has always been a living hell. Had over 100 allies die. |
![]() |
A very easy trophy. Allies will constantly die during battle and all the deaths on the battlefield count for this trophy. There is no way to actively grind this one out, so simply play through the game and you’ll eventually get it.
![]() |
It’s great to have something you could put your life on the line for… Completed 100 Side Missions. |
![]() |
Side missions are the green objective markers on the map and they are usually tied to a main character of the game. That character will join your squad after completing the side mission. Every main story mission/ scout mission has between 3-9 side missions, so you’ll get this in no time if you just focus on them.
![]() |
Avoid unfavorable battles. Built 100 bases in battle. |
![]() |
Walk up to a construction site on the map and press ![]() |
||
![]() |
No need to hold back. Increased friendship rank. |
![]() |
See “It’s not so bad, being a goddess and all.”.
![]() |
Don’t be stupid. I’ve always been talkative. Leveled one character to You earn wings of freedom from max friendship. |
![]() |
See “It’s not so bad, being a goddess and all.”.
![]() |
It’s not so bad, being a goddess and all. Leveled all characters to max friendship. |
![]() |
You can rank up your friendship levels with other characters by talking to them during missions, giving them gifts or taking them on scout missions alongside you. Always make sure that you save before talking to a character, since giving them the “correct” reply, will get you the biggest boost for your friendship rank.
![]() |
You mind if I take that? Sent 50 gifts. |
![]() |
See “It’s not so bad, being a goddess and all.”.
![]() |
As long as we keep fighting, we’ve still got a chance. Used 1,000 Wings of Freedom. |
![]() |
You earn Wings of Freedom by completing missions and talking to NPCs around the town. You can spend them on your training or R&D to improve your bases for battle.
![]() |
Just shut your mouths and invest everything in me! Used more than 100,000 Regiment Funds in total. |
![]() |
You’ll have earned well over 100,000 Regiment Funds before the end of chapter 2. Simply spend them on whatever you want to buy and the trophy will be yours.
![]() |
No matter what you train in, it will serve humanity some day. Maxed out all training. |
![]() |
Over at the training field you can use Wings of Freedom on your ODM, Hand-to-hand combat and lecture training in order to upgrade them. I’d recommend just sticking with 1 wing per training, as you still gain XP from failing a training. There is no need to invest like 10 wings just to succeed once. Failing 9 times and succeeding once will give you way more XP towards your level.
![]() |
Well, you see… It’s just seething with rage! Maxed out Titan Research Room level. |
![]() |
You’ll unlock the Titan Research Room during chapter 2 of the story and you increase your level by capturing titans during battles. The max level for this is 10 and you’ll have this with way less than 100 captures. So just try to capture around 20 titans for 3+ missions and you should have maxed this out. It’s also recommended to keep capturing titans as you’ll be rewarded with materials in the after mission screen and Regiment Funds when you head over to the research room itself. |
CrimsonScorpion says
my main concern is for It’s Not So Bad, Being A Goddess And All…I doubt it would be missable because that would mean you’d have to max out characters like Thomas and Marco literally the instant they introduce the friendship thing…I’m wondering if possibly just replaying the story mission where they’re assist characters would increase their rank or maybe there is a New Game+ type deal where characters that die can be continued on like that? not sure, I’m in Chapter 2 currently so just a thought for now but that’s my only issue, everything else is pretty much self explanatory and easy and if you played the first one this game shouldn’t be too bad platinum wise but it’s the maxing out all friendship is what’s puzzling me cuz I don’t believe they would make that missable as 1.39% of people apparently have it on Xbox One but I don’t trust that statistic as I believe the percentage of these achievements earned is bugged as it says 91.53% of players have Journey to the Unknown 3 XD so hopefully more concrete evidence will surface before I start actually going to for the Journey achievements and the other miscellaneous ones
waleed says
Is it new news because I suffer from the same thing also
Jeanmi96 says
Yeah, it’s also odd to have characters like Pastor Nick or the Merchant Boss as your “friends” when you can only give them gifts to raise your firendship level with them. I’ll update those trophies when I have more information on them.
Charles says
Just play the stage twice
You can save them
CrimsonScorpion says
Also for the Titan part of the Gallery…it works just like the first game so you don’t have to capture them, just kill them. So in every mission just make sure to kill every titan and you should be fine. I’m at 40% for that Gallery and I haven’t captured a single titan, just killed so I assume you just have to capture for the Research Center but not the Gallery unless you have to capture certain ones but I’m not sure on that.
Jeanmi96 says
Oh ok, that is good to know. I wouldn’t know since I usually capture around 20+ titans every mission, so I though that my progress just came from that.
Charles says
For dire subjugation you need to finish the story first
And then just restarting the mission
But i don’t know how to activate the dire subjugation
And also for the characters who have been died in the battle you can save them by finishing the stage twice
Later on they will have the yellow smoke it means you should save them before times runs out
Like mina, miche, ian, matabi you can save them
waleed says
Well what about Marco who died short time in the mission and Levi team?
CrimsonScorpion says
If you’re still unsure on how to trigger the Dire Subjugation, once you go into the mission press Start and then Triangle (Y if you’re playing Xbox) and it’ll list all the optional objectives to trigger it
Charles says
you can still save them by restarting their mission
Marco: Primal Desire
Levi Squad: Choice and Consequence
Miche: Beast Titan
Gelgar & Nanaba: Utgard Castle
Hannes: Charge
you need to finish the all the mission first then just restarting the mission
later on they will give the yellow smoke
Lindsay says
Just letting you know that just like in the last one it is required to farm materials for some of the weapons/equipment in inferno mode that are exclusive to that mode. So difficulty does matter in a sense.
CrimsonScorpion says
Also one more quick thing…for the Max Rank achievement, other characters only go up to Level 10 in Another Mode, not Level 100 so you don’t have to level them up too much for that achievement.
Charles says
do you have video for dire elimination?
Toshironikko says
I did all the dire eliminations in inferno mode and it didnt give me the trophy so are you required to do them all on normal mode to get the trophy?
Steven Chell says
All u have to do is the dire eliminations in normal mode. I’m left at 84 percent gallery it’s my last trophy to get. I’m curious do I have to level every character up in the capture territory missions? Or at 84 percent am I just farming materials to finish making every weapon. I’ve made like 6 new ones today and my percentage didn’t even go up 1. This is the worst trophy I ever had to grind and I have over 100 platinums
